Just finished watching Game of Thrones episode 5 and Orphan Black episode 6, and now I think I'm ready to hibernate for a year... D: I don't know how I'm gonna cope with the rest of the episodes. These seasons have been really good so far, maybe even my favourites... I just wish they would stop killing off all my favourite characters.

Charmed... That was my favourite show when it was new! I rewatched the complete series three years ago and nowadays I can't really understand anymore what I liked so much about it back then, but the nostalgia still gets me every time. I even configured my phone so it makes the sound of Piper's time-freezing power when I get a WhatsApp message.

As for Teen Wolf, is it any good? I've been thinking about starting to watch it...
I was super into Charmed when I was younger as well, but after the first four or five seasons (esp. after Shannon Doherty got herself fired) it started getting a bit too kooky for me.

I'm watching The Young Turks' review of the last Game of Thrones episode. Poor Hodor.

Watched X-Men Apocalypse earlier. I did really enjoy it but I wonder why no Gambit? He's only been in one movie so far... Oh well, at least Quicksilver was awesome :)

Looking forward to the next X-Men movie.
If that bloody scene with Wolverine is anything to go by then the R rated Wolverine movie will be great.

Thank you! I knew I wasn't the only one who enjoyed the film! A lot of the critics are saying it's trying to do too much all at once, but I seriously disagree.
I found the pacing for the most part was pretty much perfect, Michael Fassbenders performance showed another, deeper layer to Magneto, Sophie Turner was excellent as Jean Grey (and this is the first time they truly got the character right, IMO), Quicksilver stole the movie (again), Apocalypse felt like a genuine threat, and they made excellent use of a classic Metallica track. :)

Gambits no-show was irritating, though. And as far as I'm aware, his solo movie has gone the way of the Inhumans movie, and had its release date removed indefinitely, for the time being.

I agree wholeheartedly. Considering just how brutal the scene is, there's no way in hell that the fanbase is gonna accept anything less.

I just saw X-Men Apocalypse. I was expecting it to suck but it was really good! Psylocke was epic and Cyclops killed it. I'll agree that Apocalypse were slightly underpowered as to what he should be, but Oscar Isaac did a fantastic job working with what he had. He really reminded me as Palpatine.

Most of all. Magneto was amazing. After watching this movie, I am now suddenly convinced that this trilogy was more his story than anyone's else's. They finally, for the first time in the series, show his true power.

Magneto is an Omega level mutant, and this movie finally did it on the big screen. I don't want to say what he did but I never thought that they would go this route in the movies. He's a little... too OP, but it's official. Magneto is the most powerful character I've ever seen in any super hero movie. They went there. Magneto is ****ing ridiculous. He makes every character in the X-men universe and the MCU look like a ****ing joke! It's simply amazing and epic. If you're a fan of him, you're in for a real treat!

Saw X-Men: Apocalypse Thursday night and it's by far the best X-Men film ever. I honestly don't get any of the hate. Sure, Apocalypse was butchered but so is this whole X-Men film franchise. I'm not trying to justify anything because I do agree, Apocalypse's treatment in this film was disappointing but the film is still way ahead of the others.

While I wasn't too fond of Apocalypse, the sheer scope of the film was surely fitting for a character of his power. Speaking of power, while all of his abilities weren't showcased, he was still quite a devastating powerhouse so it was really cool seeing him just completely wreck people with ease despite how poorly he was handled.

Wolverine's cameo was amazing but I'm still a little disappointed that he wasn't involved in the Apocalypse battle. Michael Fassbender was once again an amazing Magneto and James McAvoy was the best he's ever been as Professor X. I didn't quite care for the Jean and Cyclops casting and I still don't like Beast or Mystique and the fact that they continue to unnecessarily focus on and misuse Mystique just because Jennifer Lawrence is playing her (who btw, still has nothing on Rebecca Romijn) is annoying. On the other hand, Nightcrawler and Psylocke were great and I didn't mind Storm and Angel. Oh, and that Quicksilver scene... blew the first one out of the water.

Also, that final battle was amazing. They really have been stepping up their game with the action sequences. First the future fights in Days of Future Past and now this. It's exactly what X-Men should have been like since the start.

[CONTAINS SPOLIERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVENT SEEN THE MOVIE!]

I agree with almost everything you say :3 I will still say that X-Men 2 United and First Class are the best Xmen movies and this is a close 3rd. I know it ****ed up a lot of things, but it got so much right. Fassbender's portrayal of Magneto was perfect. I was so happy that they show his true power as an Omega level mutant. The only thing left to show is his ability to manipulate the electrical waves in the human brain. It was breathe taking to watch and one of my favorite scenes in the movie.

I agree with you on how Jennifer Lawrence is lame, her portrayal of Mystique is terrible. Absolutely terrible. She did good in first class, but she **** the bed in Days of Futures Past and Apocalypse. She is not Mystique. Hell, I don't even know who the hell she's supposed to be. Nightcrawler had me super excited and Psylocke was amazing. Those two were amongst my favorite while growing up. Gambit was my favorite, then Cyclopes and then those 2.

I disagree abouy Cyclops though. He was very well played and they did not hold him back at all. Remember that he is young and he'll age with the role, as well Jean Grey who is nailing the Phoenix aspect of her. I'm pretty sure after what Professor X said to her. We're getting the Dark Phoenix storyline very soon, if not next.

Also you better like Cyclops because he's pretty much going to be the leader of the X-men and the main character going forward. They subtly show this at the end in the training room, they very much focus on him, and remember. That is who Cyclops is. He's a main character and the eventual, final leader of the X-Men, AKA Mr. X-man.

If that wasn't enough. The post credit scene fully supports this. The end credits set up so much with Mr. Sinister. Now we know Cyclops is the main hero going forward, Alex MIGHT actually still be alive. Cable is pretty much a given in the next Dead Pool movie. Mr. Sinister will likely have a role with Gambit's storyline. X-23 looks like she's going to happen for sure after seeing the blood vials. There seems to be so much in play after that post credit scene. I don't think Mr. Sinister is going to be a one movie villain. He'll be at least 3, if not more.

Honestly, I find X-2 to be very overrated and I never understood the big deal about First Class. The best part of that movie was Magneto and that's pretty much it.

I really had no problem with how Jean and Cyclops were played, I just don't think they look the part. I also hate how young they are yet they're fighting Apocalypse. They really should have been part of First Class. Not to mention, Cyclops is supposed to be the leader and Mystique is wrongfully taking that place. Cyclops is always getting the short end of the stick in these films. There's hope for him in Origins but First Class pretty much killed that.

Also, what the hell happened with Mystique impersonating Stryker at the end of Days of Future Past? I feel like they didn't explain that.

It's awesome that we're getting Mister Sinister but I find it pretty stupid that he's coming in after Apocalypse. The whole Apocalypse thing actually feels rushed. I would have preferred if we got the post credit scene of Apocalypse in Days of Future Past and that the next movie was about Mister Sinister leading into the Apocalypse movie.

Much of this is true, other than United and First Class being underrated. First Class is probably the best film in the series in terms of writing and character development.

Apocalypse came in way too early, let's not mention that Magneto should have been leading the X-men for this story arch. Professor X was... you know... kind of dead?

I thought it was really clear that Cyclops would be leading them. I know Mystique was there, but I didn't see any implications that she was doing anything other than training them. Ugh... they really messed Mystique up in this trilogy. She also looks waaay too young to be Nightcrawlers mother LMAO! Did she have him when she was 12 or 14? xD This really bugged me throughout the movie. I'm sure any X-Men fan would have been dumbfounded and thinking of this. Especially given the fact that Azazel was in First Class. This is concept is so ****ed up xD

I agree the actors for Cyclops and Jean Grey don't look right, but I'm thinking they are long term and they very much might grow into looking like them. I'm holding on to hopes. I think Jubilee has a very interesting look and Nightcrawler looks pretty spot on. Way better than in the original trilogy. So excited to see where this goes.

As for Mr. Sinister. I want to wait and reserve judgment to see how it's done and how much he may have influenced events in the past movies. It could be deeper than we are speculating and he is looking to be a long term villain if the rumours and hints are to be true. Considering his company seems to be well established. This really could have an impact on the past films.

Great writing and character development may be a saving grace for any other film but this is X-Men and First Class, along with all the X-Men films before it just completely failed to give me what I want and would expect as an X-Men fan.

The only thing that was clear to me was that Mystique was their leader. It was even just recently revealed that Wolverine's role was completely altered and shortened because it would have clashed with Mystique's role as leader. She has been the sole focus of these recent movies like Wolverine before her strictly because of the big name that's playing her and while Jennifer Lawrence's contract is up, she has expressed interest in returning (which is quite disgusting of her given how adamant she is about spending less time with the blue make-up on). Though there might be hope now that Singer isn't returning to direct, but I doubt the studio would allow that.

Also, I doubt growing with the role counts for anything. These films come out what, every 2-3 years? They're not going to change much. Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult were only slightly older than Sophie Turner and Tye Sheridan are now in First Class and they still look the same.

They certainly don't look like they are aging much either. I mean... I've barely look like I aged in the past 6-8 years myself xD So I often forget to take that into account because of that.

I still don't see how it's clear that Mystique is going to be a leader. This movie really seemed to seal the deal for Cyclops. He felt like the main focus for the majority of the film, and far more important than Mystique was in this movie. His role was much larger and much more impactful. Especially since it's 100% for sure that Mr Sinister is going to be a big bad that will push the series forward. He's also the main antagonist of Cyclops. Let's not mention Cable in the next Deadpool movie, should those universes connect, is another link.

I just don't see from any angle where Mystique fits into this. This movie felt like it closed that chapter and the story arch of this trilogy, while setting up the origins for the next one with Cyclops, Jean Gray, Nightcrawler, and Storm. I think the other characters will return and play a big role, but I think we are going to see a focus on these new players. It really only makes sense. Started watching Teen Wolf today and the first lesson the wolfies had in their English class: Kafka's Metamorphosis.

Alex. She's everywhere.

Oh, and how young and cute Colton was back then! Unbelievable.

Apocalypse in the 90's would've been cool, but I'm happy with the way things have worked out so far. However, you're wrong in Magneto leading the X-men during the storyline in the comics.
The storyline you're thinking of is Age of Apocalypse, which is an alternate future story arc where Xavier is killed (I can't remember who by) before he forms the X-men, and dies in Magneto's arms. Erik takes on Xavier's dream of human/mutant peace and brings together a different version of the team than we're used to. However, Apocalypse manages to fulfil his original plan of a mutant occupied planet. What I like is the way the story switched about characters allegiances. Cyclops was Apocalypse's right hand man, Beast was his lead scientist who liked to experiment on humans, with no moral compass or empathy for his test subjects, Sabertooth was a member of the X-men, Wolverine and Jean were spys for the Hellfire Club, and were romantically involved, and Mr Sinister was a good guy! I've been trying to find the complete story in graphic novel form for years, but I've not found all of it yet.

Yes Age of Apocalypse is EXACTLY what I was referring too and meaning. My bad. I'm damn sure it was his son Legion that killed him. Legion went back in time to kill Magneto to prevent something very bad from happened (I don't remember what) and he accidently kills his own father. Which is likely part of why he went so crazy. It was still a comic, I wasn't aware it was an alternative universe. I thought it was canon. Even still. That was what the movie should have been. Either that or Rise of Apocalypse. I never completed the game but I remember everyone really liking it!

Speaking of Legion. It's finally official! http://marvel.com/news/tv/26239/fx_networks_picks_up_legion_to_series It has a lot of potential. I just can't believe that Marvel and Fox are working together. Hopefully it doesn't fall out as they really can't stand each other. Sadly.

So I saw Popstar today. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. The Reviews are definately over stretching it. It was more of a "Mockumentry" but not as funny as Bruno. It did have some really good quotes and funny one liners though. Most of them being popculture related so a lot of people wouldn't get them, especially younger people. Most of the jokes were rather mistimed and missed the mark. There were very few laughs in the theater and only about 3-4 people were laughing from what I've noticed *sighs* I was very disappointed.

I wanted to say Legion, but I wasn't sure. It sounds about right, though. It would be awesome to see that storyline on film. I think Marvel Studios and Fox should attempt to do more alternate/future timeline/universe stories. Two I wouldn't mind seeing (now that Marvel are sharing Spidey with Sony) are Spiderman 2099 and Spiderman Noir. Fox already did an alternate timeline story arc with Days of Future Past. And all the signs are pointing at Fox doing the Old Man Logan storyline for Wolverine 3, so it's not like they'd be unwilling to give those types of stories a chance.

Also, I don't know if anybody else has seen this yet, but Rose Macgowan (remember her?) has been complaining that one of the billboards for Apocalypse is sexist, because it has Apocalypse grabbing Mystique by the throat. What's everyone think about this?

Technically "Days of Future Past" is the canon timeline in the current XCU. Fox will never let Marvel touch X-Men, apparently the Legion show might even be set outside of the X-Men universe. The whole reason the FF4 movie was made was so Marvel wouldn't get the rights back because the timed contract would have been up. I think they need to make a movie once ever 7 or so years or Marvel gets the film rights back. Fox didn't want to lose it. I'm hoping that they will sell it back to Marvel after what happened. Ugh... the loss of Dr Doom has been a huge loss for Marvel.

Uhhh no I haven't seen that thing about Apocalypse being sexist. How is that sexist an any shape or form. Or even 0.1% sexist? It could have been anyone, Mystique ran up to him. What did she expect, or anyone expect for that matter? Mutants are not distinguished by sexuality. Nor do they discriminate. This has to be one of the dumbest things I've heard in a good long while.

Can't wait to see the backlash and feminism wars that will occur when Captain Marvel comes out. Obviously she'll be different in the MCU as she's a more R rated character. But she takes **** from no one. It doesn't matter who you are, if you **** her off. You're ****ed lmao. It's no wonder she got kicked out of the Avengers twice. She's ruthless and would even fly people up to space and watch them suffocate and die. We probably also won't see her in a hot, steamy, sexual relationship with her son. Who happened to be the reincarnation of the man that raped her, and the boy's father. Her story will definitely be different. They will probably stay away from her beating up a lot of men. I just hope they don't **** her up, and I don't want to see her be powered down. You know what? I want to see Binary! Which is her OP form at cosmic power. I doubt we'll see it. I'm pretty sure in the final point of her canon it was discovered that her power has no known limits, but we never see it because the story stopped there.

Another funny thing that would flip the feminism crowd on their heads would be if a new Metroid game gets released LMAO!!!! The last one came out a few years before it became a big deal.... errr a big joke. I never understood why it's even a thing. Taking selfies on a ****ter makes more sense than this stuff does. It's also more civil behavior. The world is getting dumb as ****! What happened? Things were improving so much in the 90's and early 2000's.

What's clear is that she was their leader. We don't know what plans they have for the future, but as of this movie, she acted as their leader. Everyone looked up to her, she took charge, she gave a speech, and at the end they were all standing before her. Also, focus was put on Cyclops just as much as it was put on Jean. Nothing indicated that he was leader or that he was going to become leader. He just had a big part. Big deal...

You're also putting way too much stock into this. Just because they're using characters and plot points closely related to Cyclops in the comics, doesn't mean he's suddenly the central character in all this. These movies don't even acknowledge that Mystique is Nightcrawler's mom among tons of other things because of how badly they've butchered everything. What makes any of this any different? For all we know, Mister Sinister is a one time villain for Wolverine 3, the next X-Men movie is all about the phoenix, and Cable isn't even related to Cyclops or their relationship just isn't important and is never elaborated on.

I don't want this to be an argument, let's refrain from words like "You're also putting way too much stock into this." As that can be taken a little mean...ish? To someone who analyzes stories and even a writer :P So of course I over analyze things. It's kind of my thing *wink wink* :P

Anyhow back to the debate on hand :P I don't see how Mystique was hinted to be their leader. Yes, they all looked up to her because of the events in Days to Future Past. This much is very clear. What I saw was Mystique training them, it was shown a little more boot camp style imho. Part of the reason I believe that is because they are all fresh and as green as they can get. Training them in the Danger Room shows her more of a teacher than a leader. They look up to her and that makes her the perfect person to teach them to become X-Men. I felt that Cyclops's story was leading up to him taking over a leadership position, quite naturally to be precise. No pun intended xD When he spoke people naturally responded, gravitated to him. To me it was his character development that shows all roads leading to this. As for Mystique. She never really was an "X-Men" in the movie. She walked that middle ground, she distance herself from the X-Men because of her beliefs. She's admired because of them, but it also shows that she has a darkside as well. Something that these new "Greenies" haven't seen yet. Her relationship with Professor X is very close and he sees her as a sister, so he forgives her for her mistakes. There are many people that look up to Magneto, and Mystique is one of those people.

It's quite clear that it's different from the comics. There isn't really much to argue otherwise :P

I feel like we need to assume that Mystique will not be Nightcrawler's mom in the movies for a number of reasons. One of them being age. It would be very weird and if it does occur. It'll likely be a mistake on the writers part. Or Mystique is older than we previously thought (unlikely) or has a much darker past than we were lead to believe.

As for Cable and Cyclops not being related. This is a very good point. It can go either way, we don't know. Given that time travel is a huge plot point in the films. It could very still he is son. Depending on how they connect that or how it's portrayed. It may very well just be dropped as an Easter egg. There is no hints or anything to suggest either or, but there is an opening there and they could reveal that he is his son at any time. Even if it's years down the road.

While we don't know anything about Wolverine other than Hugh Jackman claims it's his "Last movie". Something he said before, and that Patrick Stewart will return as Professor X. It's also rumored to be the "Old Man Logan's" story arch, as I am sure you are well versed on this rumor :P It's also rumored that Liev Schreiber will be returning as Sabertooth. I think this is very likely and Liev himself has suggested this. There is also a likely rumor that the movie will be "R" rated. I think this might occur and Hugh Jackman wanted "The Wolverine" to be rated R.

I don't think that Mr Sinister will be having a large role in this movie other than something more or less Weapon X related. It's very likely that Laura Kinney, aka X-23 will be making an appearance in some form, as I suggested before. It seems like an obvious route and she has potential. I just hope they give her a lot of depth to her character than just being some clone of Logan.

Then there comes the ultimate rumor. The one that has been demanded by many fans (most requested villain I believe) is debatably Wolverine's greatest rival and adversary. The perfect send off for a Wolverine film. The would be none other than Omega Red. The rumor is that Boyd Holbrook may be playing Arkady Rossovich. With the rumors of the villains being "Cybernetic". His cybernetic implants certainly fit the bill. Last but not least. Omega Red can drain the life force out of his victims. What would be a better way to have Logan himself look aged and drained. Given the way Wolverine is presented in the films. I cannot think of a better way for Logan to become Old Man Logan other than getting the life drained out of him. I know the original X-Men isn't cannon now, and I can't recall at the moment, but didn't Rouge drain him when they kissed? I think Omega Red would be the most interesting and most intensive villain they could use. A true send off for the fans and Hugh Jackman himself.
