It's been a trend that Christmas starts earlier and earlier, and at the same time the society becomes less and less aware of why we have Christmas. It's all about trade and money, which is sad. Wonder how far this will get, will we in the future have 4 months of Christmas? 6 months? It's so much work with all the decorations and everything, that we could just make it Christmas all year and save us the work with preparing and taking down everything.

I have no issues with Christmas stuff being put out early, but I agree that people are forgetting what Christmas is about.

Resident Evil 7. The Not a Hero DLC finally getting a release date made me think ehhhhh il revisit it. Gotta say, i stand by everything iv said about this game but one thing happened to me during this playthrough that never happened to me before. After the dinner table scene, i grabbed the hatch key and as i was trying to open the hatch Jack appeared behind me, shouts “ You came to the wrong house boooyyyy” and sliced my leg off with his shovel, then made me crawl across the room leg in hand, and reattach it with a first aid med. I literally had to pause the game lol. And here i was thinking Jill had it rough in RE5, Ethan gets freakin butchered.

For the majority of people, it's at least partly a secular consumer holiday. But it's also what you make of it.
Christmas is an opportunity to get together with family and celebrate something during the darkest and bitter coldest part of the year.
However, wait until after Remembrance Day. Goddammit. I should not hear Christmas carols on TV while I'm CARVING MY JACK O'LANTERN. Not a good time to catch me with a sharp object.

$400 will give you a decent PC with integrated graphics for writing email and web surfing. For a gaming PC I think you'll have to more than double your budget, unless you buy second hand.

Lately I'm feeling more positive and I'm loving it. I've gone through a phase where I've been fed up and depressed a lot that has lasted for a couple of months but I feel differently now. I'm glad it seems to be passing and I hope it lasts.
Then again, it could purely be because of the four days I've had away from work. I guess we'll see. :lol:

Can definitely relate with you as I've been in a bit of a slump the last few months as well. Between dating (and breaking up with) an unappreciative, clingy douche, the death/drowning of my dog, and adjusting to a full time job- it has been challenging to say the least. I finally feel like I'm getting back on track though as I feel more positive and motivated. I'm just happy I finally got my cleaning mood back as well as exercising again. Also looking into going back to school to get my masters degree and writing again... It's the little things.

Wow, girl... That's a lot to happen all at once! I'm so sorry about your dog, that's awful, as is the stuff with the douchey guy. At least with full time work you get more money to spend! I'm glad you're feeling better and you've come out of the other side of the slump.

The death of my dog is easily the worst thing that sent me spiraling into my depression- especially the way that it happened. The break up was the best thing though- no real complaints there.
Thanks though- I'm glad that you're feeling better too! Days off of work and time to yourself can really work wonders! :biggrin:

Thank you. I often imagine just packing the job in to have more days off work to myself... But then I remember that I'm not rich and living costs money. :lol:

The last trailer for The Last Jedi is here and it's amazing! The movie is looking like a huge step up from TFA and ticket pre-sells seem to point out that the movie will have a run time of 155 minutes making it the longest Star Wars movie to date. I'm so hyped!
The trailer may be a little spoiler heavy. The director Rain Johnson told fans to watch this one at their own risks because there is a bit of a reveal that kind of points that one of the long running fan theories that was foreshadowed by TFA is correct. Which is probably one of the biggest twists in the film. I'm so freaking hyyyyyyped!

That theory about Rey turning to the darkside and Kylo being the last Jedi seems very possible. At the end of the trailer it could be that Rey is talking to Snoke and Kylo is reaching out his hand to Luke.

I've been very much convinced that Ben Solo will return to the light. It's been heavily foreshadowed in both TFA and The Aftermath books. So much is set up that his fall seems inevitable. The author for the novelization of TLJ apparently said that Ben Solo is like a reverse Anakin. Kylo and Rey's connection could be a ying and yang effect with the force. We don't know anything about Rey's birth but we do know that Ben was preyed on by a dark force (probably Snoke) while he was in Leia's womb. His birth was also unnatural as he was pulsating in light, only one other character in Star Wars lore is described like this and is the physical manifestation of the lightside. Though that would become a very convoluted plot for the average viewer after the simplistic TFA. I find it interesting that to date Ben Solo has never demonstrated any darkside powers in the canon that I am aware of.

Well, well, well, just when EA finally gives us ample reason to get excited for one of their upcoming games, they pull the rug from underneath us and put a bullsh!t loot box upgrade system in Star Wars: Battlefront 2:
Goddammit, EA! Way to kill excitement for the only AAA game of yours I give a damn about. I was hyped for this game, too. It looks so much better than the first Battlefront, it's not even funny. I was ready to put down money for this game, and then they go and do this. Even worse, it basically forces you to spend real money to get the loot upgrades because it takes hours to earn them in-game, f*ckin' A!
But that's EA for you. They pretty much ran Mass Effect into the ground with Andromeda, let's not forget. It's not even being supported via DLC, anymore because of how badly it tanked.
