CT: Wanna know what I hate? That song lyric..."Baby you're all the I want, when you're lying here in my arms. I'm finding it hard to believe...we're in heaven." Like...Hey dumbass...If she's all you want, and she's lying here in your arms, why is it HARD to believe you're in heaven?

I NEVER thought of that!

Because the same guy also sang the lyrics:

Don't drop that bomb on me
Save that little tree

:rolleyes::confused:

I'm being pedantic here... I think it's meant as two separate sentences. Like he's finding it hard to believe that they're together or whatever, and then a separate statement of 'We're in heaven'. That's always been my interpretation anyway.

lol the lyrics you are talking about. I don't recognize any of it but this part made me laugh:

Without context it sounds to me like someone who is high.
Haha, it's Bryan Adams - some of his songs are just dire. I do like a great deal of his stuff but some of it is horrendous...rhyming for the sake of it, cringey lyrics.

But most of his stuff was the anthem to my childhood - we didnt have the access to listen to a lot of music, but Bryan Adams' was acceptable, largely because I don't think my parents paid much attention to the lyrics. Everyone knows Summer of 69 is nothing to do with the summer or the year 1969...

I was never a huge Adams fan but I liked him enough to buy one or two CDs. Summer of '69 is a fantastic piece of audio. It had nothing to do with the year 69? Ok I had no idea. I'm naive like that...

To be honest, I didn't get it until I bought a greatest hits album and it was discussed in the little booklet that came with it.

CT: be grateful for the spam filter, guys. Today I had to delete the most vile stuff I have ever had the misfortune of seeing...

I am grateful for the spam filter but can't help but be curious after that statement.

The spam filter was empty when I was here earlier today, so it was either before or after my visit. To not know what got in the filter is lucky.

So weird. I have never seen spam on here.
That's because this filter is very very good. It's actually some guys from MI6 that Steve hired.

Yeah and I remember two spam waves some years ago where the spambots outperformed us 100:1 on posting.
A gaming forum seems like a good marketplace for cheap fake shoes doesn't it? lol

I wish it had been fake viagra and shoes...to say it involved hardcore pr0nz and excrement is a good place to start. Imma leave it there because it was vile and I do not wish to encourage anyone to go hunting that kind of thing down on the internet just to find an example *shudders*.

Current Happier Thought: it's my birthday on Saturday

If it's the same sort of thing as the spam attack we had a year or so ago, then yeah, I can sympathise. That stuff is vile.

Aww, have a lovely birthday on Saturday. Looks like the weather will be great for you!

CT: I just got a trophy telling me that I've been a member for 8 years… What was I even doing 8 years ago?

I remember it was a rather hot summer where I lived, and I was...
- coming to terms with the discovery that my so-called hayfever was a full-blown allergy, the nature of which remains a mystery until today,
- reading scary manga by Junji Ito online while waiting for the end of the world on December 21st,
- also waiting for news on RE6 and the Tomb Raider reboot,
- writing the third entry in my novel series while preparing for the fourth,
- playing The Sims 2 and using it to create YouTube videos that are too embarrassing to show today,
- suffering at my old job that I nearly quit because of an abusive co-worker,
- starting to notice a guy on the bus who would become my boyfriend two years later.

Why do I remember all these things? No idea, must have been a special year or something, because if you asked me what I did in 2011 or 2013, I couldn't think of as many things. Anyway, I'm happy to be here now!
