But the additions aren't lame...I mean, they add replay value, story value (in the case of Ada's Separate Ways story which wasn't in the original), and straight up more fun. And for those who can't access the older copies, like my friend that had to sell his PS2 to GET his PS3 and is a big RE fan, it worked out great...
Well then, let's start porting every popular game that was ever made because people don't have the systems anymore.
And Seperate ways was on the PS2 port that came out a long time ago, all those add ons you talked about were already on the old ports except for the GC.
Story wise, whether people wanna admit it or not, RE5 was great.
Admit it? It's not a matter of admitting, it's opinion. It is not a fact that RE5's story was superb.
It was the TRUE sequel RE needed...It was much more a sequel to the original series than RE4 was (and I'm not speaking with a bias against RE4 because it's my favorite games tied with REmake)...Have the original characters return, explaining more about the progenitor virus, and finally laying a rest to many unsolved questions...Sure it did have a FEW story flaws, but overall it was VERY well done
RE4 was a TRUE sequel whether people are willing to admit it. And that is a FACT. Just because it introduced a new part of the story doesn't mean it didn't tie with the others. You're speaking as if RE4 didn't have anything related to the old ones at all. Leon? Ada? Wesker? No those arn't original characters. Hell there was just as many original characters in RE5 as there was 4. Only three of them. Inless you count Spencer who made a microscopic appearence.
I'm not going to go into what I felt was major story flaws of RE5 because that is a another debate in itself.
...It was the lack of horror that ruined it for most people, and they fact that they can't understand how right Wesker was in changing his plans
Lack of horror was one, but not the only thing. And what do you mean the fact that they can't understand how right Wesker was? Again this is opinion based on preference. Not a fact.
But it IS to that point where it's so massive...Frankly, VERY few people who have the next gen systems don't play SOME sort of shooter like that...Maybe not CoD...But there's Halo, Battlefield, and other games that are FPS and rely on online play for the actual fun...Frankly I can't stand those type of games...And many of us on here can't either...Be we are a the minority in every way...And you can't expand the RE crowd without making look appealing...How do they do that...By making it more like what those people are selling...That's not right, but it works...And in a world where everything is about money, they're doing the most effective way to get it...
To feel that way, I think, is really part of the problem. Not to sound rude, but nothing ever got done anywhere saying, "Oh I/we don't matter, we can't do anything about it. It would take this and that and that's just not possible." It was the ones who ignored the words, "Impossible" that made a difference. Not the ones that just accepted what they saw before them even when they didn't agree with it.
Being positive is ok when it's an opinion, like mine is...But when people state that "It's action all the way now!" Like it's fact, without even giving it a try THAT'S where the problem lies...I said LOOKS like they fixed the issues...Not they that they DID fix them...Because I don't know...I'm HOPING for the best...Like I've been saying...
Technically speaking it's the same thing. Passing judgments and predictions without knowing full knowledge of it. Just because it's positive doesn't mean it's more valid. And people are stating these negative things just as people state the positives. They assume just like you are doing based off what they see from their perspective.
No...I'm not loosing track of what I'm saying...I'm saying that our sales don't matter because we're such a minority IF we get things our way and go MOSTLY horror, with SOME action...Because then it will ONLY appeal to us and it WILL NOT sell like it used too...THAT is when our sales don't matter...If the ONLY appeal to us, the original fans, they will not make the money they want to make...They know this...
I feel that what you say right after this is a contridiction.
They know this...We are part of the problem because we aren't willing to try out this new system and want to stick to what we know...If that happens, that's when our sales don't count for anything because no one else will buy...
Im seriously not getting what you're saying. We're part of the problem because we are not trying it (As in buying it.) yet are sales don't matter. It seems like you just said the same thing with different words.
So long as the veterans give the new gameplay a CHANCE it'll all be worth it...
It will be worth it for what? One clearly sees the action in the trailers and let's plays then they get it themselves and turns out to suck just like they deducted in the let's plays. Wasted time. As much as I disagree with the production of the DmC reboot. I will watch a let's play incase I am wrong about it. I think that's fair enough then to spend my money on something I feel I won't even like.
I have not yet had the honors of playing the masterpeice MK9, but im about 95% sure that it will be one of my favorate games because i've watched so much let's plays, demos, the story, the layout everything I could want in a fighting game.
But obviously those aren't enough for Capcom or else they wouldn't make the new game like you guys claim they're making it...
That's exactly why we have a problem with them. They don't care about the passion and creativity that should come with making a game. It may now just be a victim of business only.
I'm not arguing the name isn't just as important or anything...I was just pointing out facts
If it is a fact then please give me the name of the game that was first.
But the genre isn't what's really important because no genre is REALLY set in stone...In all honesty it's personal opinion...Genres I mean...RE5 to someone else could be just as survival horror as what we consider the originals to be...Just like to some people Spyro can be more action to some and more platformer to another...At the end of the day, genre is subjective...
I can only partly agree with you on this one. Yes, there are differnt things that scare different people. But for it to be labled as something it needs to meet certain reqirements to be considered as such. Otherwise, as I said before why even have seperate genres if everyone is just going to depict it as something different. Why define anything?
