The thing is I know that Capcom wants more money. My problem was that they are sacrificing things for just money and also going about it the wrong way IMO. I've also already stated why I may not buy a game I feel I won't like. But i've already had a debate about those things I don't want to get into it again.
i agree with 013 and kennedykiller.as forrest gump said "life's a box of chocolates"!you dont know what you going to get till you open it,even if you might have a good idea whats in it.some will like all the flavours and some will like a few of flavours, but i hope for all us resi fans sakes that it doesnt turn out that none us like any of flavours! p.s sorry 4 the forrest gump ref, lol!

If Capcom wants to make money they should start selling t-shirts that say "Crapcom" on the front, there is millions of people out there that despise Capcom for what they've done to their favorite game series, so Capcom will sure as hell make massive profit off Crapcom t-shirts lol

Even Jill bought one XD

No, they're not hard to find, go to any local gameshop or one that sales PS2 games. I see them both everywhere. Even if they were hard to find that doesn't mean every older game that's hard to find needs to be constantly re-release with a few lame additions they could have kept.
But the additions aren't lame...I mean, they add replay value, story value (in the case of Ada's Separate Ways story which wasn't in the original), and straight up more fun. And for those who can't access the older copies, like my friend that had to sell his PS2 to GET his PS3 and is a big RE fan, it worked out great...

I was talking about the story. You may not have felt like there wasn't anything wrong with it, but I know alot of people that were. And yeah, the gameplay wasn't all that either. I personally see more than just 2 mistakes but whatever.
Story wise, whether people wanna admit it or not, RE5 was great...It was the TRUE sequel RE needed...It was much more a sequel to the original series than RE4 was (and I'm not speaking with a bias against RE4 because it's my favorite games tied with REmake)...Have the original characters return, explaining more about the progenitor virus, and finally laying a rest to many unsolved questions...Sure it did have a FEW story flaws, but overall it was VERY well done...It was the lack of horror that ruined it for most people, and they fact that they can't understand how right Wesker was in changing his plans...

Sorry I disagree, the COD crowd might be larger but im not so sure just how large it is, but I doubt it's larger to the point where RE fans no longer matter. And doesn't that contradict what you said about us giving the game a chance or all is lost for RE or something like that? According to what you said, whether we buy the game or not doesn't matter.

Also, my point being is that they should expand the RE crowd by doing right not the COD crowd. If done right, they can get the numbers they want they just want to take the easy route.
But it IS to that point where it's so massive...Frankly, VERY few people who have the next gen systems don't play SOME sort of shooter like that...Maybe not CoD...But there's Halo, Battlefield, and other games that are FPS and rely on online play for the actual fun...Frankly I can't stand those type of games...And many of us on here can't either...Be we are a the minority in every way...And you can't expand the RE crowd without making look appealing...How do they do that...By making it more like what those people are selling...That's not right, but it works...And in a world where everything is about money, they're doing the most effective way to get it...

So positive deductions about a game from it's trailer are ok but negative ones are not? Whenever someone saids something bad about the game you're all like, "It's not even out yet."
Being positive is ok when it's an opinion, like mine is...But when people state that "It's action all the way now!" Like it's fact, without even giving it a try THAT'S where the problem lies...I said LOOKS like they fixed the issues...Not they that they DID fix them...Because I don't know...I'm HOPING for the best...Like I've been saying...

1. That's no where near impossible. 2. That pretty much what petitions are in a way.

Hun, I think you're losing track of what you're saying, you said that...

"The difference between me and most other people on here, I'm willing to admit that we are part of the problem from a certain point of view...For a fanbase like ours to NOT take action against something like this...WE are part of the problem."

You said our sales don't matter, and neither do our voices, so how in the world are we part of the problem? By your implacations we're practically invisible to Capcom.

"If they poison it just cause they want it to become the greatest selling series OF ALL TIME then we the fans will be like RE6 and show that All Hope's Lost...But it doesn't have to be if we give the the chance to CORRECT mistakes.."
Give them the chance as in BUY IT! How else do we give them the chance?

Those single letters add up btw. And as for fan opinions not being valid, when the Imfamous 2 trailer came out they eventually changed Cole back to the way he was, and you know what the fans did? Voice their opinions, that's all they did. It's call feedback, that's how most companies know what their customers want."
No...I'm not loosing track of what I'm saying...I'm saying that our sales don't matter because we're such a minority IF we get things our way and go MOSTLY horror, with SOME action...Because then it will ONLY appeal to us and it WILL NOT sell like it used too...THAT is when our sales don't matter...If the ONLY appeal to us, the original fans, they will not make the money they want to make...They know this...We are part of the problem because we aren't willing to try out this new system and want to stick to what we know...If that happens, that's when our sales don't count for anything because no one else will buy...

"Give them the chance as in BUY IT! How else do we give them the chance?"
That's what I'm trying to get at...People aren't going to buy it (By people I mean older fans like us) if they think it's too action, when really they don't know UNLESS they play it...Whether they rent it, buy it, play it at a friends house...So long as the veterans give the new gameplay a CHANCE it'll all be worth it...

Im not just talking about FB adds. Im talking about real emotional post and letters i've seen on forums, youtube, and other gaming sites. Im pretty sure, these kind of letters make it to Capcom's email.
Besides, even if they were just adds, to see a great number of people who agree on the same thing has got to say something. Which is why we have the like and dislike buttons on many sites now in the first place. It lets people know what the majority thinks.
But obviously those aren't enough for Capcom or else they wouldn't make the new game like you guys claim they're making it...

What game was that? And ok, if RE didn't create the genre it certainly gave it a name which can be just as important if not more.
I'm not arguing the name isn't just as important or anything...I was just pointing out facts...But in the words of Boy Dylan "The times they are a' changin' "

I never said it wasn't, I said it was a big important part. Honestly, if a house hold name can just jump genres, why even have seperate genres? The genre should hold just as much weight as it's great story and characters.
But the genre isn't what's really important because no genre is REALLY set in stone...In all honesty it's personal opinion...Genres I mean...RE5 to someone else could be just as survival horror as what we consider the originals to be...Just like to some people Spyro can be more action to some and more platformer to another...At the end of the day, genre is subjective...

Well then, let's start porting every popular game that was ever made because people don't have the systems anymore.
And Seperate ways was on the PS2 port that came out a long time ago, all those add ons you talked about were already on the old ports except for the GC.

Story wise, whether people wanna admit it or not, RE5 was great.
Admit it? It's not a matter of admitting, it's opinion. It is not a fact that RE5's story was superb.

It was the TRUE sequel RE needed...It was much more a sequel to the original series than RE4 was (and I'm not speaking with a bias against RE4 because it's my favorite games tied with REmake)...Have the original characters return, explaining more about the progenitor virus, and finally laying a rest to many unsolved questions...Sure it did have a FEW story flaws, but overall it was VERY well done

RE4 was a TRUE sequel whether people are willing to admit it. And that is a FACT. Just because it introduced a new part of the story doesn't mean it didn't tie with the others. You're speaking as if RE4 didn't have anything related to the old ones at all. Leon? Ada? Wesker? No those arn't original characters. Hell there was just as many original characters in RE5 as there was 4. Only three of them. Inless you count Spencer who made a microscopic appearence.

I'm not going to go into what I felt was major story flaws of RE5 because that is a another debate in itself.
...It was the lack of horror that ruined it for most people, and they fact that they can't understand how right Wesker was in changing his plans
Lack of horror was one, but not the only thing. And what do you mean the fact that they can't understand how right Wesker was? Again this is opinion based on preference. Not a fact.

To feel that way, I think, is really part of the problem. Not to sound rude, but nothing ever got done anywhere saying, "Oh I/we don't matter, we can't do anything about it. It would take this and that and that's just not possible." It was the ones who ignored the words, "Impossible" that made a difference. Not the ones that just accepted what they saw before them even when they didn't agree with it.
Technically speaking it's the same thing. Passing judgments and predictions without knowing full knowledge of it. Just because it's positive doesn't mean it's more valid. And people are stating these negative things just as people state the positives. They assume just like you are doing based off what they see from their perspective.
No...I'm not loosing track of what I'm saying...I'm saying that our sales don't matter because we're such a minority IF we get things our way and go MOSTLY horror, with SOME action...Because then it will ONLY appeal to us and it WILL NOT sell like it used too...THAT is when our sales don't matter...If the ONLY appeal to us, the original fans, they will not make the money they want to make...They know this...
I feel that what you say right after this is a contridiction.
They know this...We are part of the problem because we aren't willing to try out this new system and want to stick to what we know...If that happens, that's when our sales don't count for anything because no one else will buy...
Im seriously not getting what you're saying. We're part of the problem because we are not trying it (As in buying it.) yet are sales don't matter. It seems like you just said the same thing with different words.

So long as the veterans give the new gameplay a CHANCE it'll all be worth it...

It will be worth it for what? One clearly sees the action in the trailers and let's plays then they get it themselves and turns out to suck just like they deducted in the let's plays. Wasted time. As much as I disagree with the production of the DmC reboot. I will watch a let's play incase I am wrong about it. I think that's fair enough then to spend my money on something I feel I won't even like.

I have not yet had the honors of playing the masterpeice MK9, but im about 95% sure that it will be one of my favorate games because i've watched so much let's plays, demos, the story, the layout everything I could want in a fighting game.

But obviously those aren't enough for Capcom or else they wouldn't make the new game like you guys claim they're making it...
That's exactly why we have a problem with them. They don't care about the passion and creativity that should come with making a game. It may now just be a victim of business only.

I'm not arguing the name isn't just as important or anything...I was just pointing out facts
If it is a fact then please give me the name of the game that was first.
I can only partly agree with you on this one. Yes, there are differnt things that scare different people. But for it to be labled as something it needs to meet certain reqirements to be considered as such. Otherwise, as I said before why even have seperate genres if everyone is just going to depict it as something different. Why define anything?

Well, it looks like Sweet Home and Alone in the Dark were the first ones. Resident Evil was the first one to be labled as such, as Ken said.

But that doesn't change my opinion on how RE still defined it and made popular. Sometimes it's not always the first but the one that did it best and/or brought it into the spotlight IMO.

Thanks. Apologies for being lazy and not looking myself. I agree, it's really what does it best and makes a greater effort that counts.

I was lazy about it myself. I should have looked it up after it was first pointed out. I agree with your last sentence btw. ;)

But in all seriousness, this is becoming tedious and a waste of my time...If fans get their way all the time RE is doomed...So I guess we'll just see what the future has to hold...

Hehe, I was getting to this point myself. Let's agree to disagree on these matters and hopefully we can still shake on it. :p

I dont think its too much to ask, as a fan, to incorporate the BIG issues like horror vs action into the game. Its basically like having a band you REALLY like start out playing some wicked alternative rock then come out and saying....Well Nickleback is making more money soo.... Were gonna incorperate nickleback into our new stuff (sorry for all nickleback fans, ((not for the reference)))

Things like fixed camera angles and a dynamic slower pace IN ATLEAST PART OF THE GAME isnt really crumbling the action sell they are going for. I'll be surprised if its anything like COD to be honest, i would hope they arent that stupid.

^I dunno, I really like QTE. I can't see why most people hate them so much, I have not heard one complaint about QTE that isn't contradicting something else they like. I know of QTE that just arn't called that and they have been around forever and people loved them.

I don't know if you mean about them switching to action or not, but this really does not need to happen. I mean, seriously. If Capcom does this, how many more game industries will keep making survival/horror games? I like them 'cause they're different. I know this is 2012, but still. Games don't just have to be shooters. Wether Capcom believes it or not, a load of people love what they do. Or, were doing. I just hope they don't cave in because of their greed. And I dunno if they realize that tehy're going to lose a lot of fans and support if they go through with this. I'm not b*tching at you, mate. I'm just upset with them...

I understand my friend...I know you're not bitching at me...And people have the right to be upset with Capcom...I'm not, because I don't think they've done any worse than any other company out there...But if people wanna be I suppose that's their own personal delimma...It's just like people b*tching about ORC...I finally played and beat it, and it's a TRUE RE game even though it was action...It had a MASTERFULLY crafted Raccoon City, with little bits we all recognized like the Police Station, the clocktower, Kendo's Gun Shop, and the underground labs, brilliant new versions of zombies and crimson heads...I think the Hunters were a little over the top, but DAMN they were challenging...Nemesis looked GREAT, and the returning characters stayed true to themselves...Any true RE fan should be able to appreciate ORC, but it still gets hate...I guess if the people wanna hate on it, it's their own choice...

I should be getting mine soon, The thing about ORC that i dont understand is that its blatantly labeled a spin-off. I dont understand how anyone could out-right hate the game, unless they're bit**ing about mechanics and things involved with the actual game itself. Even then its probably not worth the defamation its getting. I think it has alot to do with the bile everyone has with the way the series is headed and did go, and just taking out on ORC. Who doesnt want to go back to a reworked 3d raccoon city?

I'm not completely angry at Capcom though, just frustrated. This isn't the way i raised them to be!
