I'm sure most of y'all love it. So here's a thread to post your favourite recipes or just tell/show us what you ate today!

I had a veggie burger and asparagus for dinner. It was so not delicious.

I've been working as a cook for the last 2 years. I know a few things. I also discovered Poutine and it's the bomb.
We make the gravy using bacon, lamb stock, and chicken stock.

General tips:
If it's meat, drown it in black pepper.

Anchovy or egg enhance the flavor of all soups without altering.

A few recipes for you lovely folks. You only need a blender to make these.

The best spread ever for bread (pretzels esp): Beer Cheese.
1/2 lb sharp cheese (i use monterrey jack)
1/2 lb mild cheese (i use colby jack)
6 cloves garlic
1 pinch of ground cayenne pepper
2 fl oz spicy mustard
2 fl oz worcestershire sauce
8-9 oz of DARK beer (guiness ideally)

1. Add all ingredients with 1/3 can of beer in blender.
2. Blend and add beer slowly to desired consistency. Stop before it becomes "runny."
3. Add 4 pinches of salt, 2 pinches ground black pepper
4. Amaze your friends.

How I prepare my pasta
Olive oil, parmesan asiago, crushed basil, and a pinch of salt.
cherry tomatoes optional

If you want to be a step above those who just buy balsamic vinegar
Citrus Vinaigrette Salad dressing:
5 sprigs-worth thyme
2 sprigs taragon
juice of 1 lemon, 5 limes
2 chopped shallots
white whine vinegar (1 or 2 cups iirc)
salt+pepper
blend and slowly add canola oil until desired flavor intensity.

Need a mild dairy spread for filler on a dish? Look no further.
Goat cheese mousse. Sounds fancy. It's not.
Literally just blend goat cheese (like, a handful) with whole milk. blend and add milk slowly until a thick cream forms. Thicker than yogurt is key. Add 2-3 pinches of salt to finish.

First of all, the name of the thread made me laugh for some reason.

Second...

You only recently discovered poutine!? You poor Americans... (you are American, right? :p)

And finally on to my food. I just ate Great Value chicken rice soup. Why do they put so much of the mystery meat in there!?

I've only recently started the paleo way of life (3 weeks) and I'm enjoying the **** off of the benefits so far. Today I had an apple for breakfast and a salad with bacon avacodo bell peppers and jalapeños with balsamic vinaigrette... I wish they had olive oil instead but my choices are limited where I work

I just ate pork roast, mashed potatoes, and field peas. I've had much better lol. I hate to say it but the only time my stepdad's father cooks well, is when he's grilling. The pork roast was too dry and I can't stand dry meat. The gravy didn't even make it any better.

Good news is that I think we're having grilled burgers tomorrow night.

I haven't had it yet, but I'll be having steak tonight. We're just gonna throw them on the barbeque and eat them, but sometimes we marinate them in soy sauce and garlic.

We had steak earlier this week and I marinated them this time. I don't grill them of course but I had never marinated steaks before so I took it upon myself to try it. I used "seasoning" salt, garlic powder, and something in a bottle called "Dale's sauce" lol. I don't know if it's available everywhere or if it's something local but it's great.

And then of course I add some A1 steak sauce to it once it's plated and in front of me. Ugh. I miss that steak lol.

Eating a tomato. Not gonna be home again the next few days so I'm eating as much as I can because I'm very picky and the house I'm going to doesn't have much food I like. :p
Good thing you have that tomato for the next few days ;p

Another chicken salad...are these going out of style or something?

Had some schnitzel that was made for us with potatoes and gravy. I would've actually enjoyed it if the gravy tasted like gravy. The parts of schnitzel that didn't get gravy on it was good, though.

Haha I mean I'm trying to be as full as I can be for tonight. Don't wanna eat all the good food right away. :p
Of course not! every time I eat something I look at the taste value in my head and I eat what I feel will be less enjoyable first and save the best for last....every time.

I just finished of a bowl of fudge ripple ice cream. Yummy.
Fudge ripple sounds like a culinary terrorist attack....just sayin lol

Krave beef jerky and an apple mmm
