It isn't a remake per say but it does take place in the same time frame as 2+3 but you will probably hardly see the main places like RPD or any of the secret labs, i think it will take place in the other side of raccoon city that was never in the original games. Either way i wan't to kill claire :D

I hope capcom don't focus too much on the multiplayer, resident evil was never designed to have multiplayer (i know it's a squad shooter and all) and even resident evil 5 messed up it's multiplayer. I just want a worthy single player experience that lasts ATLEAST 12 hours

If you think about it, they are probably going to re do all the voices (including steves) because the original voices weren't recorded in HD. I do hope they get the original Alfred back, i didn't like the voice they gave him in DC
