Why most horror movies do this?

SpawnShooter

This party's getting crazy!
Yeah, the game is an unofficial sequel to the remake taking place after the events of the film, I think they are making a new film soon about the Norwegian team you see in the film, I've not got much hope, but the Thing will always be an awesome stand alone horror, like The Lost Boys.......oh wait,

Why can't hollywood just leave things (get it ;) ) alone

As per the original question - could it also perhaps have something to do with the heightened sense of vulnerability you feel by being naked? I mean... I was thinking to myself... if I was about to be chased, sliced and diced by a crazy person, I would much prefer to be wearing clothing. Otherwise it's like an added sense of helplessness or humiliation perhaps, that as viewers we might be able to connect to more? I dunno, just a thought.

That has to be the most insightful post so far...and frankly, i doubt a lot of directors and movie goers think of it like that...however, i really like that answer and i think youre right completley when you really think about it...

That makes sense but at the same time i just feel most of these movies are mindless and there is no real reason behind having such scenes..i'm just gonna leave this here

Yar so, I think besides from teh music and teh horror, the sexy scenes just add to the intencity and.. well the tension too! lol it's all about the tension. I dont mind sex scenes but .. the cheese really bugs me sometimes like, OH that would never happen!! that sorta stuff. but yeah, Blood and Boobs, why not.

I forgot where I heard it but it's a movie trope, virgins or those who can abstain usually are the pure who can control themselves and survive, everyone else who bangs is the unpure, thus not having the mental fortitude to survive, heh, go figure.

Personally I can care less for nudity in movies, that's what's porn for.

Well I think that the reason behind it is that horror movies already get the "Adult rating", so they must think, if we can't show this children then why not add some sex scenes and increase the audience. So I watch movies online and give them an answer by not paying anything.

I don't mind a well made sex scene that doesn't show too much detail, but also I think it's too many of them.
And natural looking boobs are beautiful, but they rarely have any impact (negative or positive) on the artistic quality of the film.

Seriously man, even I don't understand why these people are so foolish.
Who are "these people", and why do you think they are foolish?

Spartacus... Blood and Sand erm Episode name is "Whore" but there is a really well shot sex scene! I cant find it but here is the music that plays during it, and a teaser of the hole episode.

They make the gladiator, plessure the rich roman womens desires... but.. well yeah they paint the guy in gold, give them both masks and then.. well the scene is just intence haha!! its like Ohh she wants it Ohh I gotta give it to her!! and they do all sorts of positions and everything! Sha-wing!

Here is the code, you know what to do! But It's just a teaser. If you cant find the hole thing, search the full episode online someplace.. It's called whore lol. Great show.

Horror movies are usually very formulated. Sex is part of that formula.

The formula sells so they stick to it.

There are other things that are common in movies that annoys me more.

Annoying artificial sound effects when someone use a computer program. I think this is a heritage from when computers were almost science fiction. Everyone got computers now and we know what computers do, so don't add the stupid sound effects!

Cars that explode as soon as they leave the tarmac and hit something. Cars don't do that. They don't even do it in Grand Theft Auto.

Sound effects in space. There is not atmosphere in space so how the hell can we hear sound there? George Lucas didn't have those sound effects in early Star Wars films, but the stupid fans complained so much that the producers gave in.

Back to exploding cars again, but this is only a minor complaint. When a car bomb explodes in a movie, it doesn't look real. The explosion look huge because of the big fireball, but most of the car structure is intact after. A real bomb make less flames and will rip the car apart.

Maybe I ask too much, but I want the physics to be real in every movie except cartoons.

Lol, good to see this thread back, totally forgot about my comments earlier.

On a more serious note, and probably an honest answer to the question.

*Without being to serious and wanting to spark a boresome cyber debate with those of unwarranted self importance *

Sex & Death are at each end of life.

Life, sex & Death all play an important factor in something like a Horror.

Psychologists know, and have known for a while that the fear or likely hood of death enduces the need to reproduce. It's just a natural reaction to extending your line before you meet your end.

Most Armies in the world, ancient and modern, have accounts of their soldiers raping women and children when raiding towns and villages. although (thanks to large amounts of sugar coating from Nat Geo and the Discovery channel ) Such acts are seen as fear tactics..

Mongols right through to Vietnam.. have all had such things.

Sex does sell, but there needs to be a foundation first..so, when it's put into a horror, the '' subject matter '' is removed and replaced with a good guy bad guy scenario so that you don't think too deeply whilst watching what seems to be a '' random sex scene ''

I'll end it there... but yea, i find it tiresome as well but hey, whatever.
