What's everybody playing?

I haven't really sat down and played Silent Hill 4: The Room, even though I've tried.
Not for any fault of its own, but I own SH4 for PC, and for some reason, I can't get into the right state of mind to actually finish a game sitting at my computer. I need to be on a couch with a console in front of a TV.

I like the monster design and the concept... but escorting Eileen looks like a damn nightmare, though.

When I was younger I didn’t mind computer games so much but now I require a couch or bed when playing games... hmm that sounds funny

Yeah going back through the different locations with Eileen is kind of a nightmare and what I was referring to in terms of the game being very repetitive. But it builds on the details to the story I suppose.

Man, speedrunning The 4th Survivor is no joke. The lowest time I've gotten is 4'46"487. The world record time is like 1'58"410. It must be pure luck, because watching those speedruns, it seems like they had to have done it a hundred times over. They go through every room without getting hit, lol. I think the worst rooms are the third to last room, as well as the stupid licker room on the second floor. Oh yeah, and those Ivys are such bullet sponges. >:/

Finished South Park the Fractured but Whole. Its pretty amazing. One of the best games I've played this year.

Also I tried out the South Park mobile game, Phone Destroyer. Its pretty fun. Not as great as the console games though.

Busted out the ol' PS2 today- which amazingly still works and has long outlived my first PS3- and started to replay Silent Hill 4: The Room. I've been wanting to revisit this game for a while now and still love it to this day. I still say it is my favorite from the series despite its faults. There is a lot of repetitive gameplay with this game in particular but, to me, it has always been one of the eeriest games in the series with its imagery and concepts.

Silent Hill 4 was the last decent SH game from Konami. You know, before they started farming out spin-offs to sh!tty 3rd rate Western developers. And started giving their fans an emphatic FU and slapping all their beloved IPs on whorehouse slot machines and harassing Hideo and Co.

2011/2012 was when it all started going downhill for that company. I'll never forget the mess that was the Silent Hill HD Collection. Only Konami can f*ck up a simple remaster of two of the greatest survival-horror games ever made, even (yes) ranking up there with the best RE titles.

Beat Mario Odyssey last night. I have about 519 Moons got every moon in every kingdom that can be possibly attained before the final fight. After beat the game I put a few more hours in... but it feels so boring just aimlessly going for moons with no purpose. A lot of them are "piggy back questing" which is very disappointing since Nintendo rarely, if ever does any of that in their game development. A lot of throw a way moons that get randomly placed from the moon boxes with very little design purpose behind them. The post game stuff has really turned me off from 1oo presenting the game as planned. Even doing the bonus kingdoms that I won't name for spoiler reasons gets stale and offers little initiative to do.

Regardless the game was amazing for it's play through it offers a lot of great surprises. It's a fantastic entry in the 3D Mario games and a solid 8.5/10. I just wished the moons had more meaning to them like the Stars in 64 or the Shines in Sunshine. Many moons don't feel rewarding and more like a chore to get. I also loved seeing Paulina again and the Metro Kingdom was brilliant! There's a mission in that Kingdom that is easily my favorite in the game. Loved it!

Yeah I never even bothered with the HD collection. Mostly because I still have the original copies of the games and then can’t stand that they even replaced the voice actress for Heather. Why waist my money? I’m still annoyed that the canceled Silent Hills. I don’t play very many games and that was one I was completely looking forward to as it looked amazing, even in the first person perspective. I don’t know the full details but what happened between Hideo and Konami just sounds messed up. I just wish he would take his own idea and make his own game- give it a different name if you have to but I just want to know what was going on in P.T. And have the chance to explore that house.

I have to say, while they may not be as good as the original SH games, Homecoming and Downpour were fun games to play through... well more so Homecoming than Downpour imo. I think Homecoming at least had the better story if you consider the Hospital ending the true ending.

I got Resident Evil: Code Veronica X and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance for PS2 from this little bookstore for only like, $12.00! Playing through Code Veronica now, great game so far. I also have the original version of MGS2, but I'm keeping both, might as well, right? Can't wait to play through all the extra sh*t in Substance.

Just beat the evil within 2 again. Loved the story, the crafting system gave me some resident evil 3 nostalgia. Pretty much loved everything about it except sebastians voice actor change. A lot of destiny 1 for a time waster as I'm pretty much out of games to play. Blasted through wolfenstein 2 in one sitting and was not very impressed.

Soul Calibur 2 and Super Smash Bros Brawl.

If modern games can't do it for me I guess I'll just go backwards and play the games that still hold up for me to this day.

I'll always miss Snake and Wolf in smash though.

I got Bloodborne for twenty dollars. This game is my first "SoulsBorne" type of game (other than Demon's Souls, but I barely put in a significant amount of time into that one). I gotta say, I love the setting and general theme of this game. 1800s-ish horror themes and creepy European towns are appealing to me for whatever reason. I also think the combat is really fresh and satisfying. There's something about it that makes it feel different from Demon's Souls, and whatever it is, it's a welcome improvement. I've made it all the way to BSB, and damn this game is so good.

That game is awesome, i never finished it tho, it seems to be sooo long. What sucks about this game is that if they kill you and you had a lot of bloodsouls or ¨money¨ you have to go to the exact spot you where killed to recover it from your own dead corpse and if you die on your way there, that cash is lost forever. There´s a boss in this game that´s so sick, you fight with him at the top of castle cainhurst.

BSB was the hardest boss in the entire game for me tbh

Yeah believe me, I've had my fair share of hours lost. I always end up grinding and getting like 20,000 or so Blood Echos and then some bull**** happens where I get killed. But recently I managed to save up 40,000 to get the Blade of Mercy, so I guess it wasn't so bad.

I died twice to him, but I found that all you need to do is make sure you don't get caught up in its combos. Usually I just dodged toward him when he tried to hit me, and then sneak in 2 or 3 hits. Honestly that stupid Cleric Beast was the one that really messed me up, until someone told me to dodge toward him instead of to the side. I guess a lot of boss fights work that way.

Dude, there´s a boss that switches from attacking you on the ground and then flies over and starts throwing chet at you that is a total F nightmare, i was never able to beat it.

Well if u like Bloodborne, u should totally check out Dark Souls 3 too. It's not as tough as Bloodborne cause the combat is at a slower pace and u can use shields and spells etc. The pvp is pretty good too. I <3 invading xD
