Honestly, I find the unlockable rocket launcher a little disappointing. Every RE fan, even if they aren't normally into gore, knows the joy of blowing zombies to pieces. The big green rocket launcher you get in the Mister X fight does exactly that, but the unlockable model... Like the one from the first remake, it does kill them in one hit, and it does visibly scorch their skin, but still leaves their bodies intact for the most part. The best you can hope for is tearing the lower legs off, like this:

It's funnier when the legs keep standing upright after the explosion, which can happen sometimes. But if you want the effect you'd normally expect from a rocket launcher, go for the Gatling Gun! That thing is like a ranged, portable meat grinder that rips zombies apart like 1,000 infinite combat knives!

CT: Rewatched Resident Evil Degeneration last weekend, the film itself was better than I remembered it, but DEAR LUCIFER, I can't stand Leon! This version of him was never my favourite to begin with due to his robotic behaviour and manner of speaking, not to mention he suddenly looks half-Asian for no reason, but what makes it even worse is the direct comparison with REmake 2. Unlike Jill, who definitely benefits from not hiding in Chris's shadow, putting Leon in a story without Ada seems to remove all traces of humanity left in him - which is probably why they threw in that half-baked romance with Officer Busty (I can't even remember her name). But seriously, Capcom should just refrain from trying to be romantic at all, they're not good at it, at least when they're doing it on purpose. It's the same with Claire, I like her in this film until she suddenly falls for Poor Man's Wesker, strolling through his company with her eyes wide open like she's never seen a pharmaceutical lab before. The power of love gone wrong!

CT: No matter how many times Mr X is a complete d*** to me in RE2, he always seems to find a way to top it every time I play. The last time I played I completed the clock tower and was confident that I could leave and go to the storage room.

Who's stood right down that walkway, looking right at the door, right in front of me? You guessed it.

Gotta say though, it's really cool because there's a definite sense of unpredictability to him. Even though he's pretty easy to dodge, it's still a shock for him to appear unexpectedly.

The awkward silence after Marvin looks up...

Playing with Beach Boy Leon is just too funny, I may never put on a different outfit again!

Wow I wouldn’t either. Apparently I need to get back to playing this game again!

CT: This may seem like a stupid opinion, but I actually loved Mercenaries 3D as a game. It was a hell of a lot of fun and it was made interesting as some of the levels were slightly different depending which one you played.

I've often thought that it would be cool if we had a game like that again that encompassed lots of different ways to play. You could have several different stages from across the games and there could be a few different game styles like Mercenaries, Raid, Horde, Mission or Waves. There could be EX difficulty modes like in 3D where things are extra tough with multiple 'boss' enemies. It could even be in a similar format to Mercenaries 3D in that each stage had set requirements, and there could be an online mode where you can choose your map and game style and play with others.

Having put so much time into RE5 Mercenaries, Mercenaries 3D and both versions of Raid Mode, I think it'd be pretty cool to have a game like that that you could just pick up and play for fun with other players.

Mercenaries 3D was one of my favorite RE games. I wish they would port it to consoles lol.

I agree, it would be pretty cool and a lot of fun. Plus, I bet a lot of people missed out on playing that game as it was on 3DS. It could bring a wider audience to it.

I never got a 3DS but I do love to play the Mercenaries. Maybe that's what I'll do in the car today. Listen to reviews of it.

Code Veronica X is fun. The reason why its taking me so long to finish it is because I only play it like once a week, a couple of hours each time.

Probably just the idle wonderings of someone who was bored at work, but I was thinking about how it might be cool to introduce a random event element to a Resident Evil game.

I was thinking about Mr X in Remake 2 and how he can suddenly appear randomly and thought it might be cool to implement something like this generally. Imagine yourself spending too long in a room, being too noisy, or just randomly every now and then a zombie crashes through the door. You never know when it's gonna happen and there's no footsteps for warning like Mister X.

I feel like this would be something that would happen if a zombie outbreak ever happened - infected would find their way everywhere, or they'd stray, or head over to investigate if they heard a noise.

Dunno, just something I thought would be cool.

This sounds both doable and plausible. From both lore and gameplay, But I think it could compromise game balance for the sake of RNG. And from my experience with Capcom games, RNG + resource management is just a 50/50 if it would make the game more tense and scary, or just a plain pain in the ass.

As someone who has replayed the games MULTIPLE times after beating them, and can now play through REmake, RE3, and RE4 pretty much without taking a hit I have it so memorized, this idea sounds like it'll do a LOT for the scare factor in subsequent play-throughs. So I can dig this idea

I feel like that could be a unlockable difficulty level once you complete the game. Like, you thought this was easy? Now try to play it again with safe rooms no longer being safe.

Jonipoon - don't even joke about that. That was my fear the ENTIRE game even after beating RE2 REmake like 3 times before. I kept saying to myself ---- Mr. X is about to enter this save room! I KNOW HE IS! THOSE SADISTICCCCCC BASTARDIOS!
