So I just watched "Stranger Things". That show is awesome and I really need to recommend it to everyone here who hasn't seen it yet.

Thanks for the recommendation! I was looking for something new to watch anyway now that my wolvies are gone until October or so, I started watching Stranger Things today and it's really interesting.

Hm... would you mind coming here and doing the dishes for me? xD

I was just going to say that! I don't mind that particular kind of weirdness at all. Say, @KRSkull, do you enjoy cleaning too?

Is that related to that one ban post, the one where Airaku was the suspect in shooting you? That was a great post. xD

Actually, yes... ish. There is a very similar scene to that in the book, but it's about 100% more graphic. I'm thinking marketing it as a children's book probably isn't going to work... xD

Huh? Where is the fun that I'm missing?

So I just watched "Stranger Things". That show is awesome and I really need to recommend it to everyone here who hasn't seen it yet. A real throw back to the 80's and it's filled with Star Wars, Marvel, and Lord of the Rings references. It has a deep Silent Hill vibe to it as well.

The show starts off with 4 young boys playing D&D. One of the boy's die in the game and he goes missing in real life. A secret government facility exists in the same small town that they live in. A little girl with extraordinary abilities is on the run, and a creature lurks somewhere in the "upside down".

I'm not going to spoil anything but I will say that I'd be damn shocked if anyone here didn't like the show :p After all, we're Resident Evil fans. We're supposed to like this kind of stuff xD

The narrative is very strong but the special effects are a little weak.
9/10

I loved this show!! I thought it was going to be good as most netflix originals tend to be good, but it really blew me away. One of the best shows I've seen in a while.

I watched all 8 episodes in one go and as you said, the narrative is strong and the pacing is great, you just can't stop watching. You really root for the characters and feel for them as well.

I would definitely recommend it too!

CT: Just got home from seeing Suicide Squad. I enjoyed it. Harley Quinn and Deadshot were the best characters though. I wasn't completely sold on Leto's Joker.

I didn't mean to imply that you were gonna start an argument, I was more worried I'd start one, haha.
I agree that the Jokers look in Suicide Squad isn't to everyone's taste. Personally, I thought it was a bold move, and it fits the vibe of the film. Chances are it's probably gonna be altered over the next few movies, anyway.

I understand where you're coming from regarding Arrow and Flash and the continuity. And yes, the costumes and effects wouldn't be able to match the movies. But I have to disagree with the idea that tying a show in to a film series continuity, or vice versa, limits either sides potential. Marvel's Netflix shows, whilst they're kinda on the periphery of the overall shared universe for the moment, feel like they occupy the same world. As does Agents of SHIELD. Neither of which feel limited (ok, except for the first season of AoS). As for the Defenders in Infinity War, I don't think that's happening. Which kinda makes sense when you consider that all of the Avengers will be involved, plus (probably) Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Spider-man (maybe), and Captain Marvel (if her film comes out before it). That, and the fact that Marvel decided to trim Infinity War down into a single film? I don't think there's gonna be any room for the Defenders.

And yes, BvS would have worked better as a 2 parter. That way, all the storylines would've gotten the attention they needed. Affleck knocked it outta the park, though. Murderous tendencies and the Bat-brand aside, the characterisation was pretty much spot-on, and Jeremy Irons as Alfred provided some much needed chuckles. He had that whole "I'm getting real sick of your s**t, Master Wayne" vibe to his performance.

Don't worry about it dude. It's totally cool, no offense here. Anyway, I doubt they'll change his look too much. Maybe different outfits but that's about it. I don't see anything drastic occurring like somehow not having tattoos or having a totally different make-up job.

Yes, but you're forgetting that those shows were developed to fit into an already established universe whereas Arrow and Flash existed before DC's cinematic universe was even established. Not to mention that those Netflix shows are higher budget projects and don't necessarily have any major affect on the movies. There's a huge disconnect with Netflix and the MCU that they'll hardly get in each other's way. Especially because they know what they can or cannot use. I can't speak for Agents of SHIELD as I've never seen it but the focus on entirely different and lesser characters than those seen on the big screen is a huge advantage though one that has kept me away from the series. It's just a completely different situation here. Before BvS even released and established a DC cinematic universe, Arrow already explored the Suicide Squad, Deathstroke, Ra's Al Ghul, introduced The Flash, and built this entire universe around itself and not once has Superman or Batman been mentioned yet Superman is supposed to be the center of attention and have this huge impact on the world yet you wouldn't be able to tell watching any of the TV shows. Which is actually how I feel about Daredevil and Jessica Jones. It's simply too late to mix the shows with the films. They've been doing their own thing and I think it's best that way.

As for The Defenders in Infinity War, I swear it'll be so lame if they can't get them in there. Infinity War needs to be the Swan Song of this whole Marvel universe. This is what everything has been building to and there needs to be a big payoff. Obviously, they're going to continue past Infinity War, but this needs to close the whole Thanos chapter and everyone should have a part in it. I'm just hoping Infinity War is this big cosmic event. That's all I've ever wanted from The Avengers and even the Justice League on the big screen. Guardians of the Galaxy introduced us to this massive universe outside of Earth and here have The Avengers stuck on Earth with no damn clue about this massive threat that they've been teasing since the first Avengers film.

I thought Ben Affleck was perfect. I didn't mind the whole branding thing or how brutal he was I'm general. The killing, was a bit excessive even though they didn't really emphasize the fact that people were being killed. Sort of like how Christian Bale's Batman killed a bunch of people though it was never as constant and obvious. I also really liked Jeremy Irons too. He got the character down perfect though it's funny that not one live action Alfred has ever sported a mustache or even been bald like Alfred is supposed to.

Today is my 24th birthday:happy:

Happy belated birthday dear!

CT: Today was a great day. I spent the day with my niece (since I missed out yesterday because my mom was sick) & ate one hell of a supper prepared by my brother from another mother. Dessert was delicious, even though I had to share with my little booboohead (niece lol).

Isn't she one of the cutest little things you've ever seen? Admit it! :p

I can't find a general troubleshooting thread, so I'll ask here: Does anyone else have trouble with embedded videos on this page lately? I recently installed a new software on my home PC and thought it was because of that, but now I'm at work and I'm having the same problem here, too.

I haven't been able to watch embedded videos for a few days. All I see where the video should be is a black rectangle of the same size, sometimes with the letter Y in the bottom right corner. Clicking on the Y refreshes the page, but the "video" still looks the same afterwards. Videos on other pages, such as YouTube and Facebook, work fine, though.

Yep I'm having the same problem. I was going to do a post on it earlier today but I decided to see if I could do some troubleshooting on my own. It's also occurring on one other website, asides from the two. I'm having no problems elsewhere so far. This is very weird. I'm curious as to if it's the site or of Youtube did an change and it's causing issues for some sites.

Thank you very much!

In the meantime, here is a little story for you all.

Wednesday, 3:15 pm.
Hel is driving her bike home from work and stops at a red light.
On the other side of the junction, an elderly man on a quad bike also stops at the red light.
A beautiful young woman approaches the containers next to the junction to get rid of her trash.
The man is staring at the woman. The traffic light goes green and Hel crosses the street, but the man doesn't. He keeps staring at the woman.
From farther away, Hel turns around to see the man still standing by the traffic light as it goes back to red. The young woman, who is done with her trash by now, leaves as the man starts wondering when the traffic light will finally go green.
And all Hel can think of is: Thankfully the beautiful young woman wasn't a handsome young man!
