Ashley by far. A lot of people seem to complain about Sheva's AI, but I never had any problems with it. She seemed to get **** done and that's all that mattered to me.
The only time Ashley could be useful is if she was hiding in a dumpster.
Easy. Sheva. Only because you are stuck with her the entire game and the AI is totally ridiculous. At least Ashley gets kidnapped or you can have her hide in a bin while you do all the important bits.

sorry, im used to most resident evil fans being dudes
but its very nice to hear that some girls like it aswell.
infact i saw this chick on youtube who has like the biggest resident evil collection i have ever seen
games, action figures, the novels, and lots of other cool merchendise
No problem I've got all the games in the main series. 1-6. i've read a few of the novels and seen all the movies. I've got umbrella and darkside chronicles but i haven't finished them both yet. major rage quitting to be had with them.
no i haven't. i got resident evil 1, 2 and 3 in a bundle pack off the psn and by the time i finished resident evil 3 (which was a pain in the hole) i was so ****ed at resident evil, I did even want to look through another fixed camera again.
I see this thread was started years ago, but honestly it shouldn't even be a question. Sheva was by far the better companion for many reasons
1. She was more capable of the two. At least she could actually carry a gun and help you kill enemies.
2. Has a much better personality. I mean if you were stuck with one of them, would you rather be with Sheva (a kind hearted and helpful BSAA agent) or Ashley (a bratty and stubborn college student)?
3. Her A.I system IMO was better- then again both were pretty bad to begin with.
4. My personal bias, Sheva is just a better, more likable person IMO. I say this not hating Ashley. I can't hate her for playing her role of defenseless college student to perfection, but that doesn't mean I have to like her personality.
It takes multiple playthroughs and burning hoop jumping to make Ashley bearable, AI Sheva is absolutely useless. Worst sidekick of all time goes to neither in my book, but to that douche kid I was playing RE6 with earlier. Who plays on casual, infinite ammo and STILL gets killed?!
I'd say sheva, at least Ashley has an excuse she's just a dumb teenager that's actually there to be rescued. Shevas meant to be a trained bsaa agent and I'd say she's caused more than half of my deaths on RE5. I reckon that's the real reason Chris went off the rails after RE5 haha but then again Leon probably needed therapy after hearing LEON HEEEELLLP! a million times. Both Chris and Leon had tons more patience than I would have
one thing that doesnt make sense to me is that if the president dies in resident evil 6, doesnt that mean he is ashleys father or something? or was he like the next president?
RE6 takes place roughly ten years after 4, I think that's longer than one person can be president in the USA, so yes, it was the next one, and he also had a different last name. But why would it not make sense if Ashley's father was the zombified president? It would only mean that after RE6, Ashley would no longer have a father (and that Capcom can't do maths, but that's nothing new)...
would have been great if it was ashleys father and a zombified ashley had turned up in leons campaign leon would have been like oooohhhhh iv waited nearly ten years for this while pulling out his L hawk
Without a question Sheva is the superior AI/Sidekick. There may be AI related issues, but the fact of the matter is Ashley isn't capable of outputting any damage via offensive moves. Shes completely neutral in terms of defense and offense.
Any teammate that is capable of killing something is better than not being able to kill anything. Ashley is worst in the sense she doesn't contribute anything, uses up healing supplies at the most, while Sheva is able to contribute at least in a minimal amount of effort by periodically contributing towards helping you "win".
