Resident Evil 5 Sheva or Ashley... who's the WORST sidekick?

MagnumDude

S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team Weapon Specialist
Ashley is most useless character in RE... Only good thing she done was pushing buttons and pulling levers where Leon could've done the same without playing ,, I can't defend myself" role.

ashley is indeed one headache in the game but i really cant stand sheva, using my first aid sprays and stuff when not needed so when i really neede some herbs and stuff i didnt had them -_-

Storyofmylife

The watchful protector.
Both were annoying and not needed in the storyline imo. If they ever.... and I mean EVER decide to make a game with those 2 as the main characters I'll definitely know it's the end times, or think Satan came up from hell to torture innocent RE fans.

Lurking is my jam.
I thought they both were awesome
Ashley:Took a Chainsaw for me and a few hits from the ganados
Sheva:Saved my ass from the Chainsaw guy i failed to notice also has insanely good accuracy

Ladyluck means nothing.
Well Ashley can't fight while Sheva can.. HOWEVER.. using Ashley's armor costume makes her completely indestructible o:...

Ashley was one of the most irritating escort characters i've come to experience.

Sheva was cool, bad-ass actually. She only annoyed me when she would just stand in my way all the time when i was shooting, with a rocket launcher....

I think Sheva (AI) can be annoying in some points. Specially if you have attack reaction on in the game, she sometimes positions herself behind you and shoots you while trying to shoot the enemies and not realizing you're on her way to shoot them. She wastes too much ammo sometimes, which can be annoying. It's bad also that you can make her wait, she has to follow you or go to the enemies alone. But what is the most annoying thing in my opinion is that she doesn't walk too quickly. The AI doesn't decide what to do quickly and sometimes it gets confused about where to go (this is especially noticeable in Wesker's battles). Even so, I prefer her to Ashley, because she helps more than screws the game.

Sheva all the way! Sure at some points her AI was a little bit strange in RE5 and I was like "Why Capcom? Why Multiplayer?" But you can't really say that she is useless just because the AI sucks at some points. I think it differs from session to session (and think about online playing where it could turn out that Sheva (and the guy who plays her) is better than you :p ) And yes Ashley really way annoying and the only thing she was good for was to walk into obvious traps and to get kidnapped and killed... Instead of learning how to drive a bulldozer she should have used the time for some martial art lessons...

I like both characters and I rarely had problems with their AI.
Ashley, apart from jumping from one bear trap into the next and being unable to climb down ladders, never bothered me. She never leaves Leon's side so he doesn't have to look for her, croaches down when he lifts his gun so he doesn't accidentally hit her, and sometimes alerts me to things I wouldn't have noticed by myself (like the big rock you can shoot down at one point to weaken that giant enemy). I played RE4 with two friends and they both agreed that she's not annoying in any way. We even had fun with her because she liked to accuse Leon of being a pervert, even still when his severed head accidentally rolled under her skirt.
Sheva saved my ass more than once, especially when I played RE5 for the first time. She can be annoying at times, especially in 5-3 when she tells me to take care of Wesker while she tries to negotiate with Jill, only to get herself killed... And in 2-1, when you have to throw her to the roof across the street so she can go down and open a door for you that is locked from the other side, it once happened to me that she got to the door and then just stood there, doing nothing.
Chris, however, is much more annoying as an AI partner in RE5! I don't know what it is that he does differently, but he tends to get on my nerves a lot when controlled by the computer, which is one of the reasons why I prefer to play as him. So my vote would go to him, but he's not an option here, so... I don't know who to pick.

Yeah, Ashley and Sheva never gave me problems either. Ashley always did what she was told. And since Sheva really only used the handgun, it allowed me to conserve ammo for more powerful weapons.

i dont think you can even consider Ashley as a sidekick, shes more like a girl Leon just has to lug around every wear. but im not trash talking her or any thing, actally i kinda like Ashley so if you want her to be less hard to deal with.. STICK IN A SUIT OF ARMOR!! XD

I actually really liked Sheva. But as another person stated, Ashley loses by default, all she could do is cry, pull levers, and sometimes throw lanterns at goons! lol

I don't understand why people take down Sheva, she's an awesome sidekick. I just supply her with a couple of good weapons and then bam! She's a force to be reckoned with. :)
