Remake, intense gameplay, stunning graphics, decent action, and better add ons to the story. Whats not to love about it.

I never played the original, but i think it's a great game, especially for the time it was released. Of course, the game had some ridiculous conversations and the story wasn't to elaborate.
The remake has more action, better graphics, is more scary and has the Trevor family's story, as well as more elaborate dialogues and storyline.
I prefer the Remake, especially because of the graphics, crimson heads and Lisa Trevor. But i'd still like to play the original, if i had the chance.

I say remake because graphics are amazing, gameplay was awsome, puzzles are little bit more harder (not that hard), new monsters, better costumes (in my opinion), and it is a little bit more harder due to that shotgun ammo was very scarce.

I've not played either of them, but from what I've heard and read I'll prefer the remake, and I'll probably buy it and a GC.

What about the voice acting? Is it better in the remake?

The voice acting is much better in the remake, it's less cheesy than what is was in the original.

Both have their own charms. It's hard for me to say which I like best!

I love the cheesiness and retroness of the original, but the REmake makes for scarier gaming. It depends if you're in a lighthearted or serious mood.

And compare the Jill Sandwich scenes.

Seing the intros I don't think I dare play this game lol. The original intro was very good, and no cheesiness.

The original Jill Sandwich scene has bad voice acting, still it has its charm.

But it's no doubt that the remake is far better. Thanks. :)

lol it took me awhile to figure out the Jill Sandwich most of you were talking about. I agree that the remake version is better.

And what do you think yourself? :ermm: I would expect you to come forward with your own opinions.

My conclusion was that the Remake is my preferred version. But I actually wanted to get both versions, until it dawned on me that I'll have to buy not only a Game Cube, I'll have to buy a PS One as well. (I don't think any RE game is easily controlled with a keyboard, so I don't consider getting the Windows version.)

I like the original far better. I like all the originals RE games better. The cheesy voice acting is hilarious! How can people not get a kick out of that? "Chris! It's me! Is that you, Rebecca?" lol :) classic!

The over-all gameplay is smoother, and frankly, I didn't like how they made Barry out to be in the remake. He was much more cool, and kick ass in the original, and he had a real beard, not a patch of peach-fuzz on a face that resembled that of a nine-year-old.

There's good and bad things about both:

The original:

Good:
It has the BEST sounding music to it.
Has a much more original feel to it.

The bad:
Terrible acting.
Not very good graphics.
Gets boring quickly, until your out the mansion for the first time.

The remake:

Good:

Is much more scary than the original.
Darker more sinister music used.
Shadows appear in the almost darkness on the walls, etc.
Crimson heads.
Lisa Trevor.
Much better graphics.
Even the beginning mansion part doesn't get boring unlike the original. As you can pick up daggers or stunner or grenades, so you can't get bitten, or use them for the hell of it, for extra fun.
More enemies.
More tasty, more powerful weapons.
Better,harder puzzles.

Bad:
Doesn't have as good music as the original.
Doesn't have that originality feel.

Conclusion: The remake I prefer.

But when I want the nostalgic original feel and music, I play the original.
