What's everybody playing?

Currently playing System Shock because I had a Steam key gifted to me recently! ayyy
All I can think of is how much the music sounds like Nine Inch Nails.

Some people might hate me for this, but I got Star Wars Battlefront II for Christmas and I must say, as much as I detest the gambling, err, I mean pay-to-win, *cough* *hack* microtransaction-based loot box system EA tried to implement, the game itself is loads of fun. I've been playing the hell out of it the last few days, I'm sorely trying to get good enough to rack up enough points for Darth Vader.

And yes, I rightfully called it for what it is: effing gambling. These loot boxes don't guarantee you'll get anything that'll help you in any way, I can certainly attest from the earned loot boxes I've gotten thus far as can Angry Joe in his review of the game (and he spent real money before they took em down to boot). Bidding real money on random items that can make or break your whole gaming experience (most likely break it unless you're willing to dish out hundreds or even thousands of dollars) sure sounds like gambling to me.

PS, I love the AJ segments with Corporate Commander. Yes, he's the masked guy in the tux who's pretty much your true-to-life representation of a greedy CEO. I could totally see the top dogs over at EA, Activision, Konami, Ubisoft, etc. saying sh!t like this behind-the-scenes.

I've been playing Metal Gear Solid 3 most of the Christmas holiday.
Fighting The Fury in a non-lethal playthrough on European Extreme with a couch full of people was probably the most exhilarating part of my Christmas.

I also beat ActRaiser on SNES in one sitting out of necessity, really. The save battery died.

A friend bought me the Outlast Trinity set... Ten minutes into Outlast; up some paint ladders, through a window and the room goes black and the intense music kicks in... I shut the game off. Craps intense and nothings really happened yet. lol

Will get back to it later but I really love the psychological angle to the story. Probably need to just suck it up and keep on with the psychology degree. Maybe this is my sign.

This type of games i have a hard time as of late dealing with them, same happened to me with TEW, Silent Hill, etc etc. Silent Hill is definitely scarier than RE but it can get really disturbing and i just want to be spooked a lil xD

The only games of this type i tried are Alien Isolation and RE7 and these games where intense, specially Isolation. Outlast is probably even more so lol.

I keep meaning to go back to Alien Isolation- I haven't even seen the Alien yet! I'm such a chicken. I think its so cool that they set the game up so that if you have your mic on while playing and you make any noise the Alien will find you!

The Silent Hill games are definitely some of the scarier games out there with very intricate storytelling but I don't have an issue playing through that series. If Silent Hills would have come to fruition then that would have been a completely different story. It's the games that make you hide from your enemies that get too intense for me and makes me shut the system off. Siren is another game that I couldn't beat.

@bSTAR_182 Well it's funny you should mention that, I'm actually playing Silent Hill 2 (again). Made it through the Labyrinth but then... I walked through a ladder and started walking around to future sections. And unfortunately, none of the doors or save markers were mapped, so I was stuck where I was and was forced to reset.

But I didn't feel like doing that all again, so I played Fist of The North Star: Ken's Rage. Great little beat-'em-up for fans of the series.

Oh i consider Isolation a masterpiece of an Alien game, only went through it because i love Alien tho.

I only played Silent Hill 1 when it came out. I am aware that 2 is considered the best but never played it. There is a cutscene in Silent Hill 1, long into the game that somehow really disturbed me and actually hurted my feelings somehow the 1st time i saw it and i actually turned it off, something that never happened to me before playing a game, and never thought it could. I was ¨oh man!¨ :surprised: But my experience with Silent Hill 1 was such a trip regardless.

Agreed. Alien Isolation is a fantastic game. Being hunted by the Xenomorph for the majority of the game is intense af. Plus the ai is pretty amazing. I wouldn't even say you'd need to be a fan of Alien to enjoy the game.

I've only played SH 1 too. It definitely had it's disturbing moments.

Oh yeah everything in the game is legit, the environments, the music all with the right tone of 1979 and at the same time fresh i loved it specially on nightmare, the malfunctioning motion tracker makes things waaay more intense!. It´s sooo funny attracting the xeno´s attention by hitting walls with a wrench to make him kill the scavengers that try to kill you lol!!

Mostly playing the Dissidia beta, Mobius Final Fantasy and replaying Clock Tower. But mostly Dissidia!
I tried out Dissidia. Don't really like the gameplay tbh. I find it gets a bit too chaotic at times. But I do like the soundtrack. There's some nice remixes on there.

Attempting to platinum Resident Evil Remaster on my PS3. But, I'll probably slowly get every trophy one at a time, because I keep going back to play Revelations 2 Raid Mode, lol. I'm also doing it out of shame, because I've had an account for six years and yet no platinum.

What scene was that?
Was it where the nurse, Lisa, transforms?

I would highly recommend playing the other games in the series if you can (mainly referring to SH2-SH4).
SH2 has arguably the strongest story in the series and probably the scariest one as well.
SH3 has the best design/graphics with a worthy follow-up story. Love the Heather character.
SH4 gets a lot of flack from a lot of fans but it is my favorite because of its different concepts. The gameplay is faulty but ultimately it does a good job with tying into the rest of the series with a unique story and spin on the 'other world' and a different ritual from previous instalments.

The music in this series is also impeccable.

That is the only game i spent time to platinum. In all honesty, whoever invented the platinum, trophies, achievements thing, aint cool. It encourages players to keep playing for hours and hours for the wrong reasons. Now if you tell me that you´ll get an in game item or a secret stage or extra costumes it would be a different story. But a trophy icon no one really cares about?, not even you?, after you spent all those hours doing stupid chet someone thought was an ¨achievement¨? :(
