Did Leon actually ever met Jill Valentine?

The Chronicles games as a whole are canon. That's a cold hard fact. You can make any case you want that's against this, but the truth is that the Resident Evil timeline is a flawed one and has been since day one. All the contradicting evidence from every piece of canon is proof of that.

It's not what Krauser thinks...The only part that is what he thinks is the level where you literally hear his thoughts. The rest is LEON'S flashback. He is EXPLAINING the story to Krauser (Except for Operation Javier, because that's happening in the moment). And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Point is, no matter WHAT, RE2 takes precedence over RE: DC.

As for REmake and RE1 both being canon. They're not. You're wrong. There is no way around that. RE1 is not canon. Capcom has officially stated as such. It's not canon. Accept it.

Please do some REsearch (Get it), into RE before you comment back again, because this isn't my opinion I'm posting. This is fact.

I'm not wrong. I've been an RE fan forever. I've played every game. Resident Evil 1 and Remake ARE both canon. It's like saying you dyed your hair and since it's not the same colour it used to be, now your natural colour is fake. Why can't you accept people have different thoughts on canon? I know more about Resident Evil than anybody. I don't need to do research. I know people from Capcom. They all have different views on the RE canon too. Maybe you need to do more research.

The first Resident Evil hasn't been canon since REmake. People's personal thoughts on canon are irrelevant to facts. Speaking of facts, I spoke to Shinji Mikami the other day and he told me the first game wasn't canon anymore.

I've talked to other Capcom employees. They have different thoughts about it. Everybody has different views on canon. Most people say in RE 2 the canon is Claire A/Leon B, but to me, it's a mixture of the scenarios, since some things make more sense in Leon A/Claire B. You can't just decide a game you made years ago is non-canon just because there's a remake. Later in the series there are references to the original game and the DSC/UC scenarios. In RE 1/Remake only Chris and Rebecca or Jill and Barry can talk to Wesker at the end of the game, and the other main character is locked up in a cell. It's been stated by Capcom no character was in a cell the whole game and both Chris and Jill confronted Wesker, which only happened in UC, and was from Wesker's point of view. The Chronicles games and original game both have their canon parts, even though Remake is considered to be the canon one. They ALL have their canon parts, same with DSC.

If the Umbrella/ Darkside Chronicles are truly canon, then we are to say that Alexia and Wesker never fought, Claire and Wesker never met, Chris and Wesker never had their showdown at the Antarctic base, Chris and Jill never split up in the Spencer mansion, Rebecca was never shot in the chest, and Barry never turned on Jill and Wesker never manipulated him into doing so. This leaves us with one lacklustre canon story. Also, how would Chris know that Wesker is still alive and has gained super human strength if we go by the Chronicles events, for the two don't meet again on Rockfort Island? While it is acceptable for the Remake to replace the original, and for Code Veronica X to replace Code Veronica, I wouldn't say the same when it comes to either of the Chronicles replacing 1, 2, 3, and Code Veronica X.

As the guys at Capcom are really inconsistent with the Resident Evil franchise and apparently don't do their jobs 100%, it is left to the fanbase to piece things together. All contradictions need questioning - be it the Chronicles games or the supplement material (back story). Using the whole 'facts are facts, regardless of opinion...' (thing) is an easy way to win an argument when you have little else to offer. I mean how factual can the 'facts' be if they don't make actual sense? Something stated about something is not believable if it doesn't add up. All you need is a brain to work it out :) Now, the creators can state anything they like about their own work, but they shouldn't expect their creations to be taken as intelligent, valid, or acceptable by fans (and the critics).

@Maddy7 , there is a reason nobody here is agreeing with you. Because it's not an opinion based debate. These are facts...Everyone else here seems to understand that. I could throw out famous people I've talked to as well. I can tell you about the whole night I spent talking to Vic Mignogna about politics...Does it really matter? Name dropping to impress (Especially over the internet) is rather worthless...There's an old saying that states, "Numbers don't lie, people do." Rather fitting seeing as the numbered RE games takes precedence over Chronicles, and REmake is canon over RE1.

And, the fact that you have me almost agreeing with The Darkening Sea (We have a history of not seeing eye to eye on ANYTHING) is amazing. No ones been able to do that thus far...So...Good job on that...

I'm not name dropping..? I've talked to official people from Capcom (I'm friends with some of them, even) that have said parts from every version of RE 1 is canon, including UC. You said I was grasping at straws, but now it kind of seems like you are, to be honest. Also someone in Capcom said for the Chronicles games "They're canon if you want them to be".

Explain how I'm grasping for straws...

You're just repeating things that I've already explained.
No, I'm repeating things I'VE already explained because they're facts confirmed by Capcom...

I don't know if you have friends at Capcom, and I really don't care. Until Capcom goes public with the info in an official statement, what one or two employee's thinks doesn't matter. What matters is what was officially released to the public.

...Link it. Show a link that the PUBLIC can see to prove it. I'll buy it then. You provide a link for me, and I'll provide one for you. Unless you can do that, it ISN'T confirmed.

I can't find the Chronicles one, but I did find this one, which pretty much applies for the Chronicles and original Resident Evil. I know the other one is out there somewhere, but I can't find it, and I was actually told that.

A. It in NO way, shape, or form applies to Chronicles and original RE.

B. Have you ever played ORC? This is clearly false, because in the Game, even if you opt NOT to kill Leon, he still meets the Umbrella crew that you play as. That is entirely non-canon. This is not a press statement from Capcom. It's from a journalist at a website.

Yes, I've played every game. They added things, like they did with Remake. Also the other link I posted...

OH MY GOD I JUST TO DEFINITIVELY ANSWER EVERY QUESTION ASKED AND CORRECT EVERY MISTAKE UTTERED

Okay. 1) Code Veronica DOES fit into the overall storyline. It is canon and takes place in late 1998. It comes between RE3 and RE4.
2) REmake's biggest changes besides the graphical overhaul was that it introduced Lisa Trevor back into the story and gave us Crimsonheads, and therefore new gameplay mechanics involving the burning of bodies.
3) No, Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles DO NOT replace the previous games because the segments that retell the games are being told from the perspective of their respective characters, although one could use them to breeze through the classic games and skip to 4.
4) "You ought to give RE6 a try sometime. It actually rekindled my desire to get back into the series."
Sometimes you gotta hit rock bottom, eh?
