Is everyone doing something for Halloween?

I have a couple of parties and there is a big bar party with a band I am going to late on Sunday. I am going as Ricky from Trailer Park Boys because my wife loves that show and I look close enough. lol.

I will share pictures if I get a good one of the ensemble!

I was originally going to be a Vulcan for Halloween but I stopped crafting when I got morning sickness. I suppose I have enough props to go as a Death Stranding porter XD.

So, about a month ago I moved to Poland for work, and I’ll stay here for around 6 months. I’m at a 3D architectural company providing visualizations for mostly architectural firms, and while it’s tough work I’m learning a lot.

I’m very grateful for being able to do this in the middle of the global pandemic which is still on-going, and it’s the first time I’ve left Sweden for 2 years which is saying a lot.

The hardest part about being here is actually finding friends and people to socialize with. I don’t feel that Polish people in general are the most open people on this planet, which is ironically quite similar to Swedes. However, 1 month is nothing and hopefully things will improve over time.

I think I found a way to make $35/d from home w/o doing a damn thing besides setting it up, legally of course ;)

If true this is great news because it would be roughly $1000+ a month, which covers a good chunk of the barebones of living, so most money I make from work could be almost completely disposable income on things like laptops, games and dining at my favorite local restaurant.

Boo ya! Land of the Free ain't so bad but you have to find ways to make money or it's Land of the Nightmare, lol.

So my car broke down and had to walk to Wal Mart to pick up a cheap monitor. Some d***less a*hole actually threw an egg at me from his car as I walking, it was just getting dark at this time so could not make out the model or plates. It bounced off of my forearm and broke on the sidewalk, minimal damage but it's the thought that counts. Who are these braindead yokels and why are they out to start sh**?

Faith restored in humanity a little bit as I was walking home brooding revenge when a complete stranger parked besides me and kindly offered me a ride home. I politely declined and said thank you but I guess there's some good left in society.

You never know, man. Maybe they wouldn't have taken you home and you just saved yourself your life and kidneys.

Why are you worried?

On a somewhat related note, at least it's better than paying rent.

I am always worries when I have to pay such an exorbitant amount. haha. It is better than paying rent though. Every payment goes to the house, so if I ever sell it, I potentially make profit. At least it helps to see it that way. lol

We recently refinanced our mortgage from a 30 to 15 year and our payment went up by so little that it was a no brainer to do.

Ah. I get that. My mortgage is something that I consciously decide not to worry about. I know we can afford it and we usually pay it early and pay extra. I tend to be nervous in general so as long as it's something that I won't be able to actively change (in the case of the mortgage, that would mean losing my job or refinancing which I don't plan to do), it's just not great for my mental health, heh. I work hard at my workplace to stay as valuable as I can and I pay my bills early. That's the best I can do, and I'm ok with that. No need for me to worry.

But yea, I totally get it. Money is stressful in general. I've also paid off 4 cars and credit card debt though so I know it will be doable.

If I can get a successful Youtube channel going I would have 3 sources of income and would be sound as a pound.

I don't mind living in an apartment, almost every homeowner I know, unless they are very wealthy, seem more annoyed and stressed with the cost and maintenance required for it.

My parents do the whole "buy a new car and a house every year" thing and their lifestyle is very "bleh" to me. I guess I need a bit of a "shade" to my existence ;)

I love not being a matter of feet away from my neighbors. I don't have to smell their cooking, listen to them yelling, worry about them burning the building down and I don't inherit anyone's cockroaches.

I loved apartment living when I was in my early 20s. It was great being a part of the community and getting to know all of your neighbors. I unfortunately had some bad neighbors when I was about 25. There was a group of SUPER rich turkish kids living in the apartment below me and they were so fun to hang out on the weekend/during the day. But they would have raging raves just about every single night of the week. I actually had to be a Dad and come and ask them to quiet down a few times so I could get enough sleep to get to work at 6 AM, but it never really changed anything. Starting at 10 PM every night, you would hear an actual DJ set coming from downstairs and kids screaming OPA at all times of the night.

When they moved out at the end of the college semester, they packed all of their belongings in their nice cars and abandoned them since they were all going back home for the year or the rest of their lives. I sometimes miss it, but then I remember getting 2 hours of sleep and enjoy living in my house kind of in the woods.

Looking back, renting a maisonette wasn't so bad, but at the time it did my head in with the noise and whatever.

I've always lived in houses with paper thin walls, but our current neighbours are brilliant. Yes, we can hear everything but they shut up at around 10pm and we do the same.

I like being a homeowner, but the downside is not being able to call the landlord and get stuff sorted out. We have to do it ourselves. No mortgage is great too...but it's not like the bills suddenly stop or the maintenance disappears.

I guess there's pros and cons, regardless of how or where you live. Most important thing is a roof over our heads - can't see the downside of that.

The moment we've all, well, lots of us have been waiting for is finally here: Sonic 2 trailer:

I lost my sh!t when Knuckles appeared at the end. The turnaround they did with these movies in fixing Sonic's design has been just unreal and now, they're pulling out all the stops. The third movie will probably feature Shadow, though I wonder where Metal Sonic figures into all of this, whether he be secretly used as the end boss for the trio to fight after Knuckles learns of Eggman's deception or saved even further down the line for the fourth movie.

This friggin housing market need to calm down.
I checked the value of our house recently, for lulz, and it's insane how much it has shot up since 2018 (when we were considering selling). I love my home, but it is NOT worth even close to what they are quoting it as.

CT: If this isn't covid then I would like to know what the flipperdydoodah it is coz I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.
