Dusk Golem is continuing to say that Leon is one of the protagonists:
But he is also saying that Gamescom may be too soon for the reveal:

Oh I hope he's in it, so you bitter anti-fans can suffer in your brown stained under pantsYou know, at this point, I’m almost hoping Leon won’t be in the game at all, and that he never was even planned to be, just so that annoying jackoff gets egg all over his face.
Almost certainly going to be the case.I hope for the love of God that this is just a tiny, isolated segment of the game similar to the giant baby in Village, and that the rest of the game plays out more normal.
I know, I can't wait to see more of the game too. They are drip feeding us and it's torture ... heheShow me the real game.

[That's what I was thinking. Grace was literally tied to a table and had to find a way to get free; I sincerely doubt whoever tied her up just left her gun on her. In both RE4 and RE6 your gear was confiscated when you were captured, so I don't see why anyone would just automatically assume she'll be walking through the game weaponless.I know, I can't wait to see more of the game too. You can see at the end of the demo, through the bars the room is the same room they showed in a trailer where Grace has a gun. So presumably Grace will get a gun right after that section from the demo:

They're likely saving the big reveals like combat, Raccoon City, and possibly the big scary Leon reveal for when pre-orders hit and they can go all in on the marketing. So it makes sense they've been focusing on the game's newer and more technical feats like seamless camera switching and the vastly improved stalker A.I.As for the question of why this portion of the game is such a big part of the marketing, this is what? The second thing we've received, or at least that I have seen: the trailer and the demo. It's not like this is the only part of the game we've seen across multiple trailers/demos/leaked gameplay. They'll possibly reveal more later.
I see what you did there.Wonder if the rest of the infected are going to have the same affliction to light. Would be very Revelations 2.
Well we know who here will be lining up to lick that egg all off his face lol
Speaking of, he’s just said a bunch of new things about CV, apparently it’s being treated like a main game, Claire has a motorcycle to get around Rockfort Island (why does that ring an RE3 subway fast travel sounding bell?), Chris and Wekser’s fight is a playable boss etc
Weird, since CV already is a main game. It’s not numbered in sequence, but literally every game that followed involving Wesker other than 0 relies on CV to explain why he’s back. CV was always a mainline title, I don’t see why it’s seen as a big deal that it’s being treated as such.Well we know who here will be lining up to lick that egg all off his face lol

Clearly, his biggest fans here who can't stop talking about him. You know what they say about haters being fans. Yeah, classic case.Well we know who here will be lining up to lick that egg all off his face lol

I wasn’t playing the series at the time it came out, but I was playing before 4 ever came out, and I was never under any impression of CV being anything but the main entry game that came after 3 and before 0, with one line of dialogue squishing Survivor in there. I mean, CV was almost twice as long as any entry that came before it, that’s not the mark of a side story. When 4 came out and it was still being called 4 it irritated me, as it was clearly 5. But, whatevs. At the time of its release it was indeed treated/marketed as some kind of nuanced side game. It was not until RE4 was released when CV's plot became cemented into the mainline series more solidly, which weirdly made it more popular in retrospect.
