Resident Evil: Requiem

Ok, right here is where your issue is. Your previous statement was that they “confirmed” Leon is not in the game. And now you are talking about getting “impressions” from his words, and talking about things that are “obvious.”

I am talking about the exact words used, and what words were not used in any fashion were: “Leon is not in this game.” It doesn’t matter what my or your “impressions” are, and what’s “obvious” to one person may seem “obviously” the opposite to another. What matters is what they actually said, and what they did not say. What they said was that Grace is the main protagonist and that they always considered Leon in the beginning but decided against using him in that role. What they did not say is that he’s not in the game.

If they wanted to confirm that he’s not in the game, they would just say so. The fact that they have not done so is not unreasonable to be interpreted that they are being coy with their words and trying not to slightly misdirect by saying Leon is not the main character without coming out and denying his presence in the game at all.

By your logic, during the initial reveal at the summer fest, the announcement to just wait a little longer for a trailer was them confirming that there was not going to be a trailer for a new game during the event, even though, while that’s what they were trying to get people to believe, that’s not what they actually said.

I love how this guy keeps foaming at the mouth saying they “confirmed” he’s not in the game when they didn’t and all the signs so obviously point to him being right while telling us to behave like adults. Aside from returning to Raccoon City and showing the RPD remnants in the trailer which are most-closely associated with Leon and would be the perfect spot for his last hurrah (he’s approaching 50) and Capcom releasing a RE4R teaser video with Leon celebrating in front of a statue with IX on it (!) after thanking the fans for reaching 10m sales (why even do that at all if you’re not gonna feature him?) and the game being designed around both first and third-person cameras (also points to Leon having playable segment{s} since the latter are obvs better-suited for that), they flat-out confirmed on the PlayStation Blog page for the game which was corroborated by Jeff Kealy at SGA BTW the game will have action segment(s) along with the horror elements which will obviously compromise Grace’s parts:

Resident Evil Requiem features a new protagonist Grace Ashcroft, who is given a case to investigate, leading to the terrifying events to follow. While survival horror takes centerstage, Resident Evil Requiem will feature high-stakes cinematic action that will take the series in a bold new direction. Stay tuned for more info on this defining entry to the iconic series that will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year. Resident Evil Requiem will be released on February 27, 2026.

Remember, Nakanishi said “Leon doesn’t fit horror”. But it won’t be all horror. Straight from the horses’ mouth. Unless you want to tell me Jeff Kealy is lying now, in which case they need to find a new game show host if you’re right. Big if.
