well from experience, most of my friends or family who have started with RE4 as their first RE game simply could not appreciate or like the older Resident Evil titles.

I tried and tried to get them into the old series like RE1,RE2,RE3,and RECV, but they would all say the same thing about not liking the controls and the more emphasis on horror and puzzles.

Granted this is just from my own personal experience, there very well could be fans who started with RE4 that still went back and liked the older games.

i like i have said in another part of this forum RE6 and RE5 are a complete opposite (and very much obvious at that) both titles have their "pros" and "cons". and to be honest i give RE6 a final 50/50 thing. i was very much impressed about RE6 (my first initial thoughts of playing it) but now it comes down to a 50/50 it has it's "pros" and "cons"

I understand your rating for RE6, it was, despite GI and tons of generic game reviewers reviews, a really great game. You see, RE6, and RE in general can't get a fair score, it will always be rated by gamers who play Action Shooters and stuff like that, and will not be able to differentiate between CoD and Gears, and will therefore negatively review RE for not playing like those games, despite RE6's default controls being, holding L and pressing a R to shoot.. A Control scheme that I cannot play with. I have to change R to aim and pressing a face button to shoot, as well as which control stick I aim with and a reticle to a laser sight, just to play like the RE that I'm familiar with.

i would like to revise of what i've given RE (specifically 5 and 6) having now a good "grasp" on 5, i actually enjoyed it and like the difference of control mechanics compaired to 6, actually both (5 and 6) are nice (i like), Yessss (to the point i can only give it a description of a precise final impression, rather than a point system ) (specifically on 5) the reload system; where in 6 it's only a one button push and in 5 you have to hold LT and press A (depending on which control layout you have) (that is if you have the xbox 360) version....i like the techicallity of it (the reload system/mechanic/control-wise). i actually i won't be on RE6 for a while until Map Pack B (arrives for RE6) and My Oh My, no "quick-shooting" (panic-shooting) in RE5, i approve of this, Yessss had an enjoyable Verses (Slayers mode) match on RE5 so Yesssss (i like)

On RE5 I got all but one main storyline achievment, two left for desperate escape, and I still need the rest of the DLC.

I love RE5, sure, even with the negative things that in many ways, outweigh the positive, but I prefer RE6, big time. The controls were good in RE5, of course I'm not talking about the default controls, which are Holding L to aim and pressing R to shoot. I didn't and still don't dig that control scheme. I may be picky, and I prefer to play RE like it has always been played, which is Holding R to aim, and pressing a face button like X to shoot. I absolutely have to change it anytime they do it differently with the default. Like RE5 and RE6 did. ORC didn't even allow you to change it, which sucks, yet another reason I couldn't get into that game, and RER actually had the controls right for default, they didn't allow you to change it either.

Actually, you could change it in RER. But they just keep the old controls default because they're the best for the 3DS. The only way L+R really works in RER is if you use the Circle Pad Pro, which a lot of people don't have.

Oh...well I understand then, because I tried Mercs3D with the L+R controls and it felt really weird. I'm one that doesn't have the circle pad pro.

Really? You liked Ustanak? I thought it was annoying. I was hoping for something cool like Nemesis, but I didn't really dig this pursuer as much.

I really need to go back and replay RE6 though...it's been awhile.

Whenever you have to crawl, you get a nice view of the character's butt, Leon's pants are well fitted so when he bends over there is some nice fanservice. Lol

Yes, I loved Ustanak, alot. For me he is almost up there with Nemesis if not up there completely.

Oh man, i'll never forget my first fight with him. I was playing as Leon, and Jake and Sherry joined us. I thought, "Oh wow! Now I got 3 people helping me, this fight should be a piece of cake, I probably won't have to do anything." So I run around the corner to get some ammo, I come back like 5 seconds later and ALL 3 of my partners are trapped. XD Sherry in one hand, Helena in the other, and Jake was stuck on a cage on Ustanak's back, and I was like, "WTF how did that even happen???!"

Lol, one of my new favorate video games moments in my life.

I just finished all of the campaigns for the first time because I did not have a PS3 when it came out. So this is all new to me.
