Wikipedia probably has an article about the Norwegian legal system. Maybe I can answer a question about our laws if you are more specific. If I know the answer then I'm happy to answer.

Our culture is very very similar to Sweden and Denmark. Together with Norway they are Scandinavia, and Scandinavian language and culture is very similar. Except for language, I think the three of us are more similar than Canada is to US.

Scandinavia is culturally close to the rest of Northern and Western Europe. And we have much more in common with North America than Eastern Europe. This is because of the politics over the last 90 years, but not least because of the fact that most white Americans are immigrants from Western Europe.

English is a mandatory second language in school.
