  • I don't go very deep into blue grass but I do enjoy it - I mean, how could a southern girl not, right? It's strange living in a place like NC because we have the ocean and the Carolina shores are where beach music started - that old soul type of music with a beach-y feel - and we also have country and southern rock but then there are the mountains, the home of blue grass so it's kind of a like a big mixing pot of music.

Really? What kind of music did your two other bands play?
It's pretty strange but I have to admit that I love those kinds of music too.

How about eighties glam rock and Hank Williams Sr.?
Bingo - and it only took you three tries.

Not as strange as old fifties doo-wop and today's metal though, right?
    Nope.

Ahh, music - this is going to be hard since my favorites and tastes are literally all over the place. How about you pick an era, genre and group and I'll tell you if I'm into it or not?...Yes, that would be much easier.
I understand that, I don't really venture either, I usually let people come to me.

I'm a few states up but you have to guess.
$90? What do you get for that, a replica made in Asia?
The wars are not fought right, but I don't know how much of this can be blamed on the president. As for Iraq, at the time it did seem like the right thing to do. I think Bush was a good president.

Mainland Norway has no provinces or states like the US and Canada, but we do have 19 counties. I've been to at least half of them, maybe more. Norway has some overseas territories, like Svalbard and other more or less remote islands, and a part of Antarctica. I've not been to either of them.

I would want to visit every state of the US, but that would take me too long. I don't know where I would go and not. I guess I would arrive at NYC and I don't knwo where it would go from there. South-west maybe. And I would want to see California.
 That's good. Romero and Golbez are two really great guys - two of my favorite forum goers - you choose your friends well, grasshopper. ;)
I'm doing pretty good, how are you? Do you like the forums so far? I hope you're enjoying everything. :D
Maybe You Should, You Might Get Some Ideas On Where To Go With It Next. I Have Really Tried To Flesh Out Mine So It All Makes Sense.
It's Coming Along Pretty Good I Just Need To Think Up A Title For It And I Will Post My First Part.
I'm not used to Fareheit, but I have some idea of what 87 is like. It's hotter than normal indoor temperature?

Gun control laws here are crazy, handguns are illegal except for sports. Not even the police are allowed to carry firearms unless a mission requires it. Regular people are not allowed to defend their property in any physical way, and God forbid defending themselves with a gun. But criminals don't care about the law so they are the only ones that are armed. Unfortunately we do not have your Second Amendment.

I'm not sure what I think about Obama, but McCain was my favorite. I've never been in America but I would love to. Traditionally Norwegians have loved Americans and your presidents, but the majority here did not approve of the American foreign politics of Bush junior. And the socialist parties in our government were almost hostile at times. Shame on them.
I supported almost all of Bush' foreign politics. What your presidents are doing domestically is harder for me to judge, but I believe that in many or most cases I would be supporting GOP there too.

Of course the US and Americans are one of the nations that gets the most media coverage, not least in business. But our closest neighbor is Sweden and they are the ones who gets the most attention from Norwegians, simply because we are so close. Our languages have only small differences and alot of workers live in one country and work in the other.
Norway is a long country and weather varies alot from south to north. I live in the middle and we've had cold weather for over a week now, actually very cold for being this early in the winter. It's been stable at around -10 Celcius on the coast, around -20 in the inland not far from here.

Crime is high in Oslo (the capital), but not so high elsewhere. It's not easy to put a number on it, and I can only say what I think about it. And that is "normal" crime level for the country as a whole, and in smaller cities and rural places it's little crime.

The politics here is about as in other countries in western Europe. The leading parties are for the most part social democrats of some sort, and the current government in Norway is a coalition of three parties: A small leftist, semi-commie party, the large social democratic party and a small center party. As I'm right wing I'm of course not very happy with this.

My country is a wealthy and stable democracy (like the other scandinavian countries), but still I feel I'm lacking freedom. Everything is so controlled and regulated and strict.

If I don't freeze to death, I'll surely be taxed to death haha.

I like the US and americans very much. Culturally and politically.
