I like Leon's campaign and Ada's the most. A great way to introduce the story mode and an awesome way to end it.

Correct me if I am mistaken, but I feel that the reason people aren't falling in love with this game is that it doesn't have the same feel as.. say Resident Evil 2. But it is unrealistic to expect that kind of suspense anymore. Modern gaming takes us to a place where a lot of people, especially people new to the series, would be really upset if we were given the creepy camera angles, and the slower pace of the earlier games. I miss that, I really do. But another thing that made the early games scary was the controls. It was a lot harder to move around and aim quickly at multiple targets, which put you in some pretty tight situations. You can't get away with that anymore. It's wrong to expect to relive the wonderful nostalgic experiences with a new game. You can't reignite a classic game in a different era. People's expectations way too high.

Completely agree. Nothing else needed to be said. I enjoyed Chris's campaign over the others slightly more. His Chapter 2 is just too fun.

Despite all the negative reception to RE6 (from fans and critics alike) I for one extremely enjoyed the game. One of the things I loved most was that each individual campaign had it's own unique atmosphere, providing you with a huge variety in gameplay. With the many stories, many lovable characters, and many impactful emotional moments, RE6 went down as one of the best "new generation" RE games for me.

Also, the seemingly infinite amount of replay value just adds to the awesomeness.

I know I'm in the minority on this, but RE6 is my favorite numbered game since RE0. Though I have had a few gripes with it here and there, I have still very much enjoyed it more than 4 and 5.

Mercenary
Helena, Sherry and Ada all have nice butts.

Anyway, I think the Mercenaries is better than ever, which is good because it's really my only reason I have kept playing RE6 after finishing the campaign.

Unfortunately I think the campaign was terrible when compared to RE5, but it was good compared to most modern shooters I suppose...
RE7 needs better bosses to make up for this game, especially Simmons, wow those were not fun boss fights.

Your first sentence is all that matters :D

I agree that gaming isn't what it used to be when I started getting into it. I probally won't even be getting Resident evil 7. And theres a lot more games I'll be getting before I screw around with RE6.

I wish more indie guys can make scary games. I think the game "Anna" Is looking promising. Indie can give a scary game because they have the money to do so... But RE6...

It wasn't scary at all. Maybe for just a very very short amount of Leons campaign. And I get scared VERY easiley.

Even Silent hill is heading down. You compare SM to 3. The series has changed dramatically. Not saying that silent hill isn't scary anymore, just saying that its not as scary as it used to be and still can be. Looking forward to phantom fear a bit. And everyone says there isn't a market for scary games anymore. What about dead space? Even though dead space is an action horror game its still scary. And I would like an all horror game more than the mix, and obviously so does every one on the internet. (For instance youtube, this forum, another RE forums, A silent hill forum.) I'm sick and tired of people saying "There's no market for scary games anymore" Because take CoD Zombies. I know people who get the new CoD's just to play the zombies. Make a game like that, add a bit of horror iin the mix, and BOOM. You have your self a scary game that people will play just because it has the word Call of Duty in it, and now people who hate war games (Like myself) Can be pleased with it as well.

Dead Space is a good example of a modern scary game. However, with dead space there is very little interaction with other characters and there's not much of a story. Don't get me wrong, I love dead space, but you're basically just fixing a ship. Resident Evil has always had strong story elements, and RE: 6 is especially dependent on making the story fit. There's not much time for suspense. Maybe it could have been more suspenseful but think about suspense, story, and action. It's hard to get all three. Dead space has suspense and action. Resident Evil 6 has action and story. Getting all three is asking for a lot.

Darkness

Infected
The increased fluidity of the controls. I like how intuitively you can sprint and then go into a shoulder lunge as you approach an enemy. After playing RE6 a lot, I went back for a round of RE5 one time, and I could not get the hang of it for the life of me.

Why is it hard to get three? Take a look at silent hill, its all ways had the three.

Basically what I'm saying is, RE6 had places to put in scary's every where, You can just put a pop up somewhere in there every hour or so, add some disbturing stuff, boom, you got a scary game.

HOLD ON HERE I actually think Dead Space has a very good story. Sure, at first look it probably just seems like a guy fixing a ship, but once you get into the game, and start finding all the text/audio/video logs, you end up discovering a lot of depth in the story. Not to mention the slow-paced narrative of the first game gave it a very unique storytelling style. And Dead Space 2 widely expanded the scope of the story.

I can see how the story style of Dead Space can be uninteresting to some, but just because it doesn't appeal to you particularly, doesn't mean it's bad. I'm not saying DS has a better story than RE (RE has better stories without a doubt) but there definitely is a strong story throughout.

Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Revelations had all 3 of those things and more and RE4 is considered one of the greatest video games of all time while Revelations is seen by fans and critics as an actual Resident Evil game and the only reason the Resident Evil IP was not a complete failure this year.

There are loads of developers out there can can bring great Scary/Survival Horror games and make them successful, but it's not about the players being too scared to try it or whatever, that's a bunch of horses**t. The reason why companies are turning their horror franchises into action and not making horror franchises is because they are too scared to invest in new IPs and genres, plus they just want to grab the Call of Duty audience and maximize profits by making more action games. But that will just blow up in their face, just like it did with RE6, RE6 is both a critical and commercial failure for going all action, ORC failed critically and just barely succeeded commercially but Revelations which was a Survival Horror game was a great success. People don't want action from Resident Evil whether you see it or not and the game is not gonna sell on a mediocre story alone.

I have nothing to praise about RE6 but if I had a favorite moment in the game it would be Ada's crawling moments.

I never meant to make the DS story sound bad. Yes its obviously more than just fixing the ship, and I do enjoy the story, it's just not as pronounced as RE

I, for one, had a hard time getting into Dead Space. I was given a copy of the first one and just never felt like finishing it. Don't know why, it wasn't a bad game at all.

But on topic, the game had a lot of potential but in the end it was hit or miss. It had a lot of content so I can't complain on that, and I'm not a graphics whore so I thought it looked great(minus a few textures). Since this is a praise thread I'll keep the bad in the complaint thread.

What I liked: Zombies are back, a majority of Leon's campaign, the interior of the ship in Chris's campaign, the few puzzles it had, some of the atmosphere, some good throwbacks to previous entries, Ada's campaign(Solo ftw), the fluid controls, SHERRY!!!, the girl butts, and seeing a VHS tape.

I have not had the luxury of playing Revelations yet. RE 4 was a masterpiece, I need to revisit that game. Also I really enjoyed playing the walking dead series, I think they delivered all three, but that's an entirely different style of game. The point I was trying to make is that RE6 is EXTREMELY dependent on story. Multiple campaigns with story intersections. Balancing the story alone must have been very challenging to make, and I believe is under appreciated. They aren't catering to COD fans, they are aiming for high multiplayer action and high replayability. Not what everyone wants, but for what they intended I think they delivered. I honestly hope that the next RE will be more scary, but I was not expecting this game to be scary and I was not disappointed. Also enjoyed the crawling moments.
