Not at all. You think its "fun" to talk about because there is a fetish about unconventional sex, involving gays, lesbians, and bisexuals, which to me suggest it means something about the fan base. Straight people don't often enjoy the notion of gay and lesbian sex... of course!

Even Turo guy thinks its perverse. (I hope I spelt that name right.)

Do we have a bunch of closet gays and lesbians on here? Lol

But really, some of us want to have a proper, productive conversation and you make very hard if you only want to make a joke of everything. Does everything have to become a joke?

There is not a single scrap of evidence that either Chris or Wesker is gay or bisexual.

List every point and I will take the time (maybe later) to debunk them all... this should be a piece of cake.

There's no evidence saying they're straight, either. Why does everybody just assume if it isn't said they're gay, that they're straight?

You guys seriously need to lighten up, after all you said it was for FUN.

Bad, bad me. Damn I must be horrid. I guess I better go and see a psychologist... maybe he can give me some psychotic drugs for a fake disorder I don't have.:unimpressed:

If I insisted that my girlfriend was bisexual with no actual evidence, and quite liked the idea of her having a lesbian side, and this was the reason why I couldn't let it go, what would that say about me?

...FETISH.

Stating the obvious is stating the obvious. Getting upset is immature... like what the hell?

Don't you think YOU insult CAPCOM when you demand for THEIR characters to be adamant gays and lesbians and bisexuals, when they imply no such thing? Your fetish shouldn't overule the canonical evidence. Its getting on my nerves now.

Chris and Wesker are NOT gay.

OMG,calm down!

Again, fictional characters, and that is not the same. You know your girlfriend enough to know for a fact that she is not bi.We don't know these FICTIONAL CHARACTERS enough to make the claim.Really,it depends on what is a better marketing strategy.Key example,in Mass effect 1,there is no evidence suggesting that Kaidan Alenko(one of your crew members)was bisexual (man crush maybe?)...but fast forward to mass effect 3 and he's a gay option. Why? Because in fandom Shepard/Kaidan was THE OTP ...regardless of Shepard's gender.Their sexualities are based on what they feel is 'safe'...resident evil kinda ghlosses over sexuality...I wonder why.

But just to play devil's advocate:
Wesker= not above doing something gay to get his way
Chris= either gay or aesexual

How is Chris or Wesker gay? Wesker has a kid with a woman and Chris has been portrayed as straight by Capcom in their viral video for Resident Evil 5 and even had recorded lines that didn't make it into Lost in Nightmares that suggests he was flirting with a woman from the BSAA. Just like it was stated, this thread is supposed to be fun, yet it stops being fun when people make crazy cases to defend outlandish claims. Yeah, Chris is gay because he ignored Jessica, doesn't get sexnuts over Jill, Sheva or any woman during gameplay. Wesker is gay too because he ignored Excella's advances. It's all fun and games but for anyone to truly believe crap like that is just stupid in my honest opinion.

Again,I was just playing devil's advocate. In the original Romero script,Jill was Chris's girlfriend,so ?.I'm just pointing out the games don't really give us anything to go on,which is weird. As for Wesker, the circumstances surrounding Jake prove he isn't gay...but he could be an omnisexual sociopath who uses sexto get his way.The only evidence to support this theory is that Wesker is a user and an abuser is driven by power,be it money or possibly his d***,whatever he can use to get it.We have no evidence that he did,or didn't sleep with Excella (I think he either did it or made a promise an never went through with it).But really, its all in good fun, guys :).

As I said,Chris is the guy no one wants to be gay...but why?

I don't think Wesker is gay, but I say Chris is because his relationship with Piers and those alternate costumes. Those videos weren't canon and those lines didn't make it into LiN, which means they aren't canon either, but even if they were, Chris could still be gay. For example, my uncle was always hitting on girls but he didn't actually like them, he just didn't want people to know he was gay. That could be what Chris was doing. And yeah, he doesn't pay attention to any of the girls, but straight guys don't always check out every girl they see, either. Having my own opinion isn't stupid (I really, REALLY hate it when people call me stupid).

People are allowed to talk about whatever they choose to talk about... so long as they are not attacking another member. There are thousands of other threads here; if this makes you uncomfortable, as it clearly does, then you are more than welcome not to participate in this particular discussion. It's not that difficult a concept.

No, it doesn't make me uncomfortable at all. People are insisting that the characters are gay and lesbian and bisexual with false evidence. I think its slanderous to the franchise, to the creators, and its disrespectful. If any character was stated or depicted to be gay I would simply accept that's what the creators want for them.

I want REAL evidence to show that a single character is (not) straight.

If nobody can provide me the evidence, then it remains to be a fetish.

Again, there's no real evidence saying characters are straight, either. Show me real evidence of that. How is that a fetish, to say somebody is gay? How is it disrespectful to the creators? You're just being homophobic, frankly.

Good point, but I've got an even better one: All characters are asexual unless proved otherwise.

Hah! Asexuality is the norm. That's how we are born! :p

True. We can have our opinions, but nothing is confirmed.

Silly alternate costumes and a brothers in arms relationship with someone he mentored makes him gay? If you can't see two men be emotional in circumstances that justify it, then it says more about your maturity than it does the characters. Is Chris also a Samurai in his spare time? They weren't canon but they weren't fan made either. Capcom made those and sold their game with it. They also wrote that dialogue and gave it a voice over too. That says a whole a lot more than wild speculation from a fan. Your uncle is irrelevant to a fictional character who's life and personality is written out for him. In saying that, you're essentially saying that Chris can be anything from a god disguised as a man to a woman in a man's body so long Capcom says otherwise rather than just taking the character for what he is because that's all he can ever be because he's not real.

... What? Chris treated Piers differently than all the other BSAA members, he seemed to have feelings for him. Alternate costumes do sometimes hint at things. They got rid of that dialogue for a reason (whatever that might be). Saying that's canon is like saying RE 1.5 is canon. I brought up my uncle because Chris could be doing what my uncle did, it's not like I just randomly said something about him. Being gay is a normal thing, you're making it sound impossible.

Excella came onto Wesker because she was talking about having proven herself worthy and be able to rule beside him in his new world. The only thing she had left to give him was her body to advance her own interests. This is desperate form of manipulation. What an immediate turn off for a man who doesn’t like to share power, much less be manipulated himself. Right there he could see she would be a problem. He terminated her. The mutation scene where she becomes the next boss demonstrates his lack of empathy, making him more of the monster than she. It only highlights that he’s far gone, and it has nothing to do with him being gay! The implication of the scene is quite simple to me, so I don’t understand why people just miss it.

Chris Redfield’s character is defined by his morality, his almost self-righteous, heroic attitude and his extreme professionalism. He doesn’t lose sight of the ball, he doesn’t let women side track him, and he doesn’t mix business with pleasure. He exists as the very opposite of Leon. Chris also has a soft and caring side if he got emotional over losing Piers. It has literally nothing to do with him being gay - unless two men can’t bond as friends, or as team mates out on a mission.

It's the way Chris treated Piers. He treated no other character like that. That's just my opinion.

Never said Wesky was gay! (He's not). But Wesker had Excella around his fingers, not the other way around. She had the power at first ,and he had a dream. He sold it wrapped up with his d*** .The box was bad ,Excella was annoyiing and Wesker was greedy...but what if Excella ,WAS compatable? What then?

As for Chris and Piers,it could just be a mentor thing,I ship them for lulz.I won't count that as evidence of homosexuality...but them costumes and his severe lack of interest in women, could be a repressed homosexual. No problem with that. And I really do think Wesker would f*** a dude if there was something to gain from it(say if someone more powerful than him wanted him and seducing him was the only way to get samples from said guy.Wesker would suck it up ,lie down and think of england). He likely treats sex with anyone that way.Hell, dude probabl don't even beat off,or if he do it's urges and no fantasies.

Please elaborate. How exactly did he treat him so differently that you can possibly come to the conclusion that whatever he did was done with homosexual feelings? Like Chris being a Samuari and a Brad Pitt fan? Yeah, it was removed because it had nothing to do with advancing the story. It's such a random thing for them to talk about before going after Spencer. Did I say it was canon? It's still how Capcom depicted Chris. And like I said, your uncle is irrelevant. Chris is fake, he's not doing anything to throw us off because he's not actually a human.

okay
I agree.No more trolling XD
I don't think it really matters if they are gay/bi its 2015 after all. In years to come we will most likely see more gay characters in games (I think there are a few now) as it becomes more normal and mainstream. But I think capcom would not wanna say ever way there are subtle clues but I think it's up to the players to decide. Besides to me there is not a lot of those types of relationships in RE yeah you could point to Ada/Leon or Claire/Steve but even then not much happens and Jill and Chris never seem to find love in any of the games . Not to say I woul like more of that type of thing a gay characters would be ground breaking and even a more developed relationships between Ada Leon would be good they have been flirting for 15 years or so by now.

I'll say it once more. Chris was more emotional with Piers, and seemed saddest when he died (other than Finn, but he was more of a mentor to him), and there were a few scenes where it seriously looked like he was checking Piers out. I referenced my uncle because Chris is supposed to be a person, so he should have some similarities to actual people.
