@bSTAR_182 Funny that you mention Uncharted, because I saw those similiarities too, but I'll also throw in Mass Effect here. Don't know if you played it, but I could also tell you that Chris in RE6 tries to be like Commander Shepard from Mass Effect ;P

I'd rather say ME3 inspired RE6. You know Chris becoming the military-commander type just like Shep. Then they introduced a character named James Vega, who had a similar role to Piers Nivans as he was Cmd. Shep's protege (Except that James rivals Chris on the roider scale) and yes people were also shipping these two xD
Even ME had it's own version of a Chris/Jill partnership too, except that their relationship didn't stop at just "being partners" ....and the list goes on....
But yeah as you've pointed out, Uncharted is better at fleshing their characters and relationship out. So does Mass Effect, which is the reason why I consider both franchises to be awesome. RE tends to be rather very japanese on this matter.....

@Valentine91, I have not played that series, but that's pretty funny! I'm sort of curious to try ME out now, but I know I'm weird about the games I play... Seeing as I have yet to touch Fallout 4 again after only a few hours of gameplay, I'm not even sure I'll play it again but I know it's a good game! :p

But yeah Capcom had Chris mention in RE5 that he wanted to be a captain one day and they made it happen by RE6- Shepard style apparently. Kind of funny because being a field agent, I imagine, is the more upper level job because they're on their own doing more detailed missions. Maybe Chris is a simple guy who prefers that team setting though.

Probably the main things that made me think of Uncharted with RE6 is the submarine part in Ada's campaign and the falling building in Leon's of course.

You should definitely try ME, it's an amazing. The diverse cast, your interactions with them, the bond you create with them and the romances... awesome. At least ME doesn't throw your emotional investment you've spend into certain characters out of the window like RE did it for me, though I'm pretty biased here.

You know the comparison between Shep and Chris started when RE6 introduced Piers, who was Chris' protege, but about half a year earlier ME3 also introduced a new character who served as Shep's protege, not to mention Chris' style in 6. His hair almost looks like he's a baldy like Shep and the three-day stubbles and his "I'ma badass-military-guy" facial expression xD So, I really thought RE6 copied ME3, though I'm pretty sure that it was just a coincidence. But Shep's core personality is the same as Chris' since both are men of the military, so it's not surprising that both might share similar traits and personality, but in ME you can either be a goody two shoes or a total dick/b*tch (After all Shepard can be a woman too)

Ok, I better stop before I start to derail this thread x'D

Man, Leon's always too busy being distracted by Ada's narrow ass. It's a wonder he gets anything done at all.

@bSTAR_182 YOU NEED to play Mass Effect. It's one of the greatest games ever imho. The story is phenomenal. Lots of mind blowing plot twists and mind ****s. The only problem is that the story is quite complicated and a very small portion of the fan base seems to understand the story :/ I don't blame BioWare at all, the themes and concepts were quite familiar. The problem is that many people didn't catch on to them, nor the messages they tried to portray. It's a massive game and it's easy to miss some key points. The problem may lie in the philosophies that the game tries to cover but seems to be very subtle about it at times and vocal at others. This allows for multiple perceptions on the matter. The game is strong on morals
Oh yes. There are B.O.W.'s Some rich jack ass owns a company and.... NO! I can control them @bSTAR_182 I am certain of it!

PS. Don't read below.

@Valentine91 I hate to say this but I don't agree with the Chris and Piers thing relating to Mass Effect or the RE6 influence. I just don't see it. I will say that RE4 was a MASSIVE influence for ME2. I think I already mentioned this. Also Shep didn't have a protégé. I don't believe Vega was that guy lol. Many of the other crew members were far closer to Shepard. Such as Liara and Garrus who were the most loyal. I state these two because no matter what choices you make.... they are loyal to a fault and may seem forced on some people since it's for mandatory story reasons. Liara spend an entire game trying to avenge you. You can't get more loyal than that. She went to hell and back to save Shepard's ass.

Hmmm. So do you guys think HUNK is returning? Is that really HUNK or just an original Umbrella soldier that... is wearing a damn near identical uniform? The other Umbrella Corp's troops look a little different.... plus.... He's his own character. So uhhhh? Return of HUNK?

I think I'm liking where this is going :p

Looks like Tri-Cell got ****ed up! Umbrella didn't really stand a chance with both sides being played like a damn fiddle.

I'm still so intrigued as to how Resident Evil: Revelations would have turned out if they had gone with the story in the original trailer.
Was the where jill and Chris were against each other with that aussy guy in the chair and Chris says something about it being his fault?

I know the trailer was just a mock up, but I'm still very curious as to why they made the trailer that way. What was the reasoning behind 2 Chris Redfields, one of them sounding completely different and villainous, and Chris and Jill being enemies? There's got to be more than "for sh*ts and giggles" but at the same time everything did come off really random. Like they didn't know what to do so they slapped some things together. Don't have enough character models to work with? Screw it, just add another Chris and throw HUNK in there somewhere to fill it up more. It's honestly one of the strangest trailers I've ever seen and I for one would like an actual explanation for it.

I wish we had more information than we do on RE4's prototypes.
I'd love to see more gameplay for Resident Evil 3.5 in its various forms.

Dude, I'm with you. It's actually been on my mind as of late. I would really like to know what the original story was going to be like. What role Chris and Jill were going to have. How they would have looked. Same for Wesker. The fact that til this day, Leon and Wesker never had a face to face encounter leaves me curious as to why the game that starred Leon Kennedy from the very beginning was going to be the one to have ended the series. What was that encounter going to be like?

Even then, it seems strange to think that something dealing with fog and a paranormal hook man could involve Wesker and the end of Umbrella. I'm also curious as to what elements they might have reused. For example, we know the plot of RE4 ended up having to do with Leon being infected so that didn't change. Also, the fog looks to have been repurposed as Uroboros in RE5. Which leaves me wondering if there might have been any other reused ideas that we didn't even know of.

Then there's the gameplay. It looked like a mixture of old school fixed camera and modern over the shoulder gameplay. Honestly, how was that going to work? It seems very inconsistent but at the same time, it looks very appealing. Part of me wishes they would have just reworked that game and added zombies to it if the whole paranormal thing wasn't working because I doubt zombies were the problem like Capcom seemed to think for a while. The whole look of the game and the gameplay just looked incredible, like a bigger more evolved version of REmake. As a fan, I feel really disappointed but as a gamer it's hard to regret the Resident Evil 4 we have now.

Also, this has been bugging me for years! But I swear I remember seeing a zombie version of Resident Evil 4. The memory is so vague that it makes me question whether or not I even saw this but my history with these types of memories has been really good with me finding evidence and keeping my sanity in tact. But this is the one I could never prove. I remember a trailer starting out with a dark and dirty kitchen and then I remember seeing Leon in a sewer/tunnel like area fighting a horde of zombies holding a flashlight in one hand and a pistol in the other. That's pretty much all I remember. I was really young when I saw this but even my brother recalls seeing such a thing and as far as I could find throughout my years of searching is that there was indeed a version with zombies at one point but that it didn't really get passed the script. There were also these obscure videos that I can't for the life of me find anymore that were I guess tech demos of what Resident Evil would look like on the Gamecube and they were just a series of different locations with one of them being a kitchen. Also, in the hook man version of RE4, Leon is seen holding a flashlight in one hand and a pistol in the other. So part of me is thinking that maybe I'm just seeing a jumbled mess of memories? Ugh, I don't know. I feel crazy again.

Wasn't there also a rumour that jill was supposed to be in re0 instead of Rebecca? Or maybe I read that wrong. It was a while ago
