Harry Sachz

Ancient Alien
The Fray - Trust Me

Never paid much attention to this song when I bought the album, until recently. It's really grown on me and I think it's become my favorite song on the whole album.

This is not the kind of music I usually listen to... but I'll show you guys some portuguese music.

Most of you probably don't know this, but there's a portuguese music style called Fado (there's no translation to ir, the closest word is "fate"). It's a melancholic type of music and it was originated by the women at the ports, watching their husbands go away in the ships, knowing that they might not return to them. However, it has evolved with time, and there are fado songs about many subjects. Amália Rodrigues, known as the queen of fado, was the most proeminent fado singer. Fado has adapted to the modern times and it is now not as melancholic as it used to be. Some modern singers include Mariza, Ana Moura, Camané, Mafalda Arnauth, etc. Fado singers are always accompained by the Portuguese Guitar (12 strings).

People usually say that, even though they don't understand the lyrics, they know what the singer is feeling because it is very expressive .Here's a little sample:

Enough of fado for now... Portugal has other great artists. My favorite childhood/teenage band (late 90's) was Silence 4. However, they were disbanded and had a very small existence as a group. Now the lead singer, David Fonseca, has a solo career, but it's nothing compared to Silence 4.

Then there's this new singer, Aurea, she's got a great voice and is having a huge success internationally.

Not really the ideal song to do a line to and I hate this version but okay... And after watching Soul Train quite a bit, as in a whole lot, I don't ever want to hear about a certain race having so much more rhythm over everyone else because, while it's obvious that some of these dancers know what they're doing, most of them couldn't dance their way out of a brown paper bag or stay on beat to save their lives. I think whether or not someone has rhythm depends on the person and not the race and Soul Train is a definite testament to that. Some people have it and some don't and some of these guys definitely don't have it.

On another note, I Love Music was a very good line, if I do remember correctly. I always love the couples who are doing the same thing, it looks very synchronized and organized unlike some who are doing two completely different things making you go: "Huh? What was that?".

Speaking of portuguese musicians, here's an excelent band!

Yeah, Blasted Mechanism are a great band. I only posted about more cultural and mediatic stuff because I didn't want to fill the post too much (it was more like an informative post). But we have a lot of great artists in Portugal :)

I'm listening/watching to service, broadcasted on Swedish Television. Norwegian Television used to do that, but I guess at some point they decided to become infidels.
