Hey, I was poking around looking for pictures of Chris, 'cause that's what do, and I keep noticing in fanart and elsewhere, that no one can seem to decide what color his eyes are.

Now, in the first game, it's obvious they're brown. Until the remake came along, then they were sort of a brownish-grey. Then Code Veronica seemed to depict them as being bright blue.

Finally, and, of course, my personal favorite, RE5 comes out, and his eyes are dark blue w/ grey. Now, I think this color is the most aesthetically pleasing.

I know that Capcom doesn't seem to strictly follow guides in making their characters look the same for each game (or else Chris would still look like he did in the early games, and I wouldn't be looking for pictures of him, har har.)

My Q is what is the general consensus? I mean, I found this ID card which depicts Chris from RE5, but they say his eyes are brown. They are CLEARLY not, so what's the deal? Is there a fan preference I don't know about?

I gleefully submit evidence to my claim, because any excuse to plaster Chris's handsome mug on something is a good one:

This doesn't look brown to me. I mean, his eyes are always darker looking because he's got a heavy brow, plus he squints because of the sun, but I can still see the light blue high-lights.

Dark blue/grey. And all sorts of yummy.

I say blue rules out brown. He's had blue-ish eyes three times now when you consider the REmake. Somebody needs to make a new ID. :D

Does Capcom have it down officially what the color is and I missed it?

This sort of info comes in handy if you want to draw fanart, which I do. ;)

Maybe he wears different colour contacts?

Also, aren't Claire's eyes blue?

One of their parents must have had blue eyes. If that ID card is an official capcom artwork, then I guess you should trust them... Or check his info on the actual games...

^Why trust capcom? They're the ones that got us all confused in the first place. XD Constantly switching what's suppose to be canon and what's not. So my conclusion, his eyes are whatever color makes sense and what you believe them to be. (Put clues together, such as his sister's eyes being blue and stuff like that.)

For example, I don't care what anyone saids, I think Leon's hair is brown in RE4. If Chris' eyes look blue to you in most of his games, then by all means call them blue. They're probably gonna be green or something in his next game anyway. XD

Sheva's eyes seem grey in some scenes, put arn't they suppose to be brown? Maybe it's the lighting. But like I said, if grey is what they look like to some people then they can be grey.

Excella's nationality, some debate over whether she's Itailian or Spanish, regardless of what her VA/MC wanted. Same with Wesker, is he American, or is he English? These types of things are just really up to the fans seperate opinions since these issues really arn't big enough for Capcom to bother confirming nor would any of these have an effect on the series. It's whatever you want it to be in these kind of cases

I think Capcom want to let his eyes Dark blue/green. Because everything in TV have blue/green eyes. lol

Maybe I misread something, but how do you know that this card is... I don't want to say valid obviously, but produced by Capcom in the first place?

Nowhere that I recall, but it supposed to be " a replica of the one from the game". I guess the one that shows up in the background of his file when you read it in the library? I honestly don't know how they can even SEE what's on it besides his picture, but whatever. . .:ermm:

I'm stickin' with bluish grey-the fact pointed out that Claire's eyes are blue also seems to add validity to the point.

Claire's eyes actually changed from brown(in CV/RE2, not too sure about RE2) to blue(in Degeneration). Its because I think the novel of Code Veronica originally mentioned it as brown.

So... I guess the developers just changes eye color cause they want to and it looks good on them, and they're not really thinking about real life logic at all. Eye contacts could probably be a good reason.

Well, I'd take this picture with a grain of salt anyway; there's no way to tell if Capcom even made this themselves. We really don't know where this came from, anyone could have created it and said it was a replica. Who knows. :)

Her eyes were always blue.

And at the end of the demo cutscene of Code Veronica's menu it gets a big close up on her eye.

I don't think the novels are canon.

They always give video game heroes blue eyes, I would like a green eyed Link for once.

And I think Wesker is American, not English.

^Well, as said in one of my earlier post, it's doesn't seem to be an argument that can really be won since Capcom is likely not to confirm it and his nationality wouldn't effect the storyline, so, he's whatever you want him to be. ^_^

And hell, now that this Wesker children thing throws a monkey wrench in everything Wesker could be Chinese for all we know. Lol. I personally think he's English but that's just me.

Anyways, I agree that they should give different eye colors. While blue is a good color, they should be a little more selective. Sheva's eyes are brown...or grey, so that's a change.

That would explain his high intelligence and good aging...if he still ages that is.

Wow. I thought they were brown when I played CV...

I should've checked the eyes better when I played the game. D:
