Initial sales were strong but appear to have slowed down a bit (finally hit 2 million a short while ago).
I mean come on, if they want to compete with RE, you would think that they would not succumb to the allures of exclusivity nonsense (Capcom has long since dropped any notions of exclusivity deals, especially after the Mikami and Nintendo fiasco from 2001-2005).
For context, Xbox Series X has sold around 28.3 million units worldwide. If just 10% of those owners bought SH2R, that's an additional 2.83 million sales right there!
I understand the exclusivity deal is timed for a year, but it's always better to get the ball rolling early when hype is at peak, then once sales slow down they can turn their efforts on development of the next remake.
What was Konami thinking here? RE and SH are not Halo or Zelda and should be fairly distributed across the board.
