I hope capcom take the time they need to deliver the most polished and entertaining experience they can, so I'm OK even to wait for the end of the year as long as the game turn out good... I always wonder what they could have add to re 3 remake if the game was released in December 2020 (or later in 2020) instead of releasing it in April
I personally don't doubt it will shine on the technical side - almost every mainline RE title was the best it could be at the time of its release. RE6 is the only one I can remember having some tech issues which were solved on the next-generation port (or so I've been told - I only have the PS3 edition). I think RE3 got rushed out of the door because they plan to release a RE game on a yearly base and it hitting the shelves in late-2020 would've made it clash with Village.

Yeah agree, but i guess re 3 remake would have benefit a lot for a late 2020 release like December
9 month is a huge amount of time to add content to a game
But obviously they couldn't clash with village

2:00 pacific on January 21st, New trailer and gameplay
Interesting. The new ESO expansion was supposed to reveal at this time as well but they delayed the reveal to the 26th because of the political climate in the US and Inauguration Day on the 20th. I wonder if this will suffer the same fate.

I hope there is no delay. Plenty of countries have much worse turmoil than the US and things go on according to schedule anyway. I guess the US is a much larger retail market than most other locations, but still... unless its an immediate crisis, let it play out.

The official tweet from Capcom says:

Don’t miss the #REShowcase on January 21st at 2:00 PM Pacific! Join Resident Evil producers and our host, Brittney Brombacher (@BlondeNerd), on a guided tour of Resident Evil Village, including a new trailer, first-ever gameplay, and more Resident Evil news!

Sounds like its gonna be a deeper dive than usual which makes sense if they want to release in the Spring.

You can register for a closed beta for a new re game to play on ps4 or Xbox one, or ps5 and Xbox series x respectively

Detail for the beta will be delivered January 21 and the beta will start January 28

Here the tweet whit the link for registration

@Jamesy personally I hope it dosent, I already saws whit cyberpunk what means to deliver a game that is not meant to run for old gen consoles and re 8 wasn't meant to be played on old gen, they only decided to try and make it cross platform on August 2020, the old gen version of released will probably miss a lot

I hope it DOES release for PS4 as well. I will be a PS5 if I have to, but I feel like it is a waste of my time right now. The issue with CD Project Red is that they are AMAZING at PC developed games and they are pretty good when it comes to getting these properties to work on consoles. But they admitted that it was not their strongest capability.

CAPCOM however is super focused on console development. So, I assume they will be able to produce a PS4 variant of RE8 with almost no issue. I do not care if it doesnt look AS pretty. If they give me RE3R version graphics with the game, I will be more than okay with that. And then it would give me a reason to buy it on PS5 in 3 years when I want to play it again. A win-win for them.

Did you guys noticed that Capcom is releasing a video every day until January 21st (the day of the show) and every video shows the inventory from a main game, the showed original re 1, 2, 3, and 4 and 5 inventory but you can see that they changed something in the inventory management in the first 3 game (re 1 inventory look different when you pick up item, they changed the keys name in re 2, and re 3 Inventory look different when you pick up item) it's seems that they're teasing some sort of remastered of the original trilogy... Can't wait for it actually, I'm sick to have to enter my old ps1 game into my ps3 to play them and watch an upscaled low resolution image on a 4k TV lol

It's interesting to note that they Skipped code veronica in those videos they released, it's seems they didn't care about it and treat it like any other re spin off, while it's actually one of the most important game in the series both in term of gameplay and story

Here are the videos released by capcom

A lot of RE news sites are suggesting that Capcom is giving clues that they are remastering the original games for collections. And I for one WOULD absolutely replay the entire series again with added features, better movement mechanics, and hopefully Trophy Support. I haven not played RE2 and RE3 original flavor since probably college - I graduated 2009.

It is also weird that they continually skip Code Veronica just (seemingly) because it does not have a numbered title!

I know, its absolutely criminal. CV was one of the best in the series.

Capcom HAS to see that people want a Code Veronica remake at some point. It is all I see on every RE forum and FB group and Twitter. But maybe after the RE4 REmake. I mean, the stories hardly overlap, so it would not be that hard.

Well, actually, even though RE4's plot is paper-thin, it is highly dependent on "Code: Veronica": Ada and Krauser are in league with Wesker, who was revealed to be alive in that very game. It really pains me that Capcom seems to have forgotten about C:V - it is my favorite entry along with RE2 and it was the last great RE game. They didn't even bother to give it a polished remaster: the HD version for PS3 looks terrible. The only thing they improved was the dynamic lighting, but everything else was messed up. I know a guy who hacked into it and said that the game was running on the MT Framework engine (the one used in RE5 and 6), they simply did a half-assed job at porting it.

Well, the Resident Evil Showcase came and went - I was honestly hoping for something more. They didn't really add much. The only new elements are those hooded enemies in the catacombs. Oh, and that the tall lady is NOT the elusive Miranda, since she was talking to her on the phone (unless she's insane like Alfred in Code: Veronica). Frankly, this doesn't look too much like Resident Evil. It has some passing resemblance with 4, which is not a good thing in my book.

Did I understand this correctly that the tall lady is related to Jack Baker?

Edit: No, she's not. The brother she was referring to that Ethan escaped from is someone else.
