follow this speed run guide, its not the one i use, because i use my own notes, but if its your first try stick to this.

my first tip is, un equip your weapon, apparently you run just a tad faster un-armed.
don't kill unless you absolutely have to.
first fight against yawn..DO NOT stand and fight, just run and get the death mask and leg it, hurting him will result in a scene you can't skip where richard gets eaten.
and if you are poisoned against yawn restart.
getting the serum for yourself or the few cut scenes you will encounter really set you back.
skip EVERY cut scene.
can't think of anything else at the moment, however i'll edit my post with more if i think of anything.

after talking to barry, you run to the first zombie (room), then to mirror room, get the arrow, run to the graveyard, get the sword key (yellow key), then run to the room where the dogs jump through the windows (in the original game), then take the chemicals.
(if you want to get sub 2hours, you can also let barry rescue Jill... In my 1:25 run i didnt go for the shotgun)
- get the dog whistle.
- go to the collar dog, kill them with the 15 shots from your pistol.

time saving tip no.1
at the beginning after barry shoots zombie and you go back to main hall and have to search for wesker, just to to the top of the main stairs (just the wide one, not the smaller steps that branch left/right) then 180 and run back down and that counts as searching.

go to the collar dog, kill them with the 15 shots from your pistol

if you can just kill the dog with the flashing neck, grab the dog collar and leave.

but if you think you will get hurt kill both dogs.

i think u can't play the remake on emulator but u can play the original? correct me if i'm wrong

but i've never seen a gamecube emulator or REmake rom for that matter :/

yeah there is a gamecube emulator, but theres not a 100% stable one, that will run games perfectly.
plus you are recommended to have a high end performance comp to get the best out of it.

You can run the full distance? My technique is to run and count aloud like this 'one mississippi two mississippi' walk for a split second then repeat.

e.g. my Chris Normal Run. by the way next time i am going to split the long floor (the L-floor) by walking only once for one second.

well you have to learn the route, or use a speed run guide.
but i learnt the route, then wrote up some basic notes to follow, and just stick to that.

a lot of practise and hard work. I remember i played RS the first time: 1:55.. now I get 1:34:38... think about the fastest routes, kill only bosses, I never kill any normal enemies, JUST BOSSES. Sub 2 hour is easy even with knife only. but the more you get closer to 1:30 the harder it is... just even one mistake could destroy your endtime and you won't get the e.g. World Record

holy crap i love the REMAKE... today i finished Invisible Enemy Chris on Normal in 1h 32min 28sec.
