Job Interview!

Did my interviews!I didn't get a job though. He said i did good in the interview, i knew everything about my roles and why i wanted them but he reckons i have commitment issues and he won't recommend me till he sees a years proof of work.Who would've thought the army being fussy? You wonder why australias army is so incredibly small they won't even accept people, you literally have to become a bloody soldier before your in!Its insane they wouldn't even throw me in the frontlines, i saw other people get turned down for rifleman roles as well.

But probably for the best at least i won't get my legs blown off now.

Next plan....Army reserves.Yeah i can be accepted for part time work, try do overseas time and study while i'm at it so if i ever do decide to join the army in a year the offer is available...but honestly i think i'll move on.:)

Oh i hope you were successful Tequila if you've had your interview yet.;)

Wow, I know what you mean. I have not gotten a call for an interview yet. However, I have gone back to the place to ask about my job application process and they are still reviewing the applications. I wanted to show that I really want the job, so I had to do a follow up. I'm hoping they would hire me, even though I am in school and they are looking for flexible hours. Ugh, it's so hard right now. I'm sure any other position you apply for will hire you. So keep applying! Committment wise has always been an issue. because of school. In the long run, school always comes first. ;)

But everybody has to be a soldier (conscript) first? What did you have in mind? Did you perhaps seek a civil position in the army?
I'm sorry you didn't get your first choice.

Keeping your legs isn't the worst that can happen. ;)

Well what do you mean by conscript as in you still do soldier training?I was going into Intelligence so i would be overseas gathering information and then telling the commanders what the plan is.So i'm pretty much creating all the intelligence they need to do missions or patrols.Intense stuff, not much combat involved but there were times where i had to go on patrols with a unit to transport information(most probable fighting).

Yeah legs seem to be the first to mind with the millions of other horrible possibilities.

Yeah well i hope you get it the worst thing is waiting for an answer, you just want to call them back to make sure they remembered!Especially after an interview i remember waiting 10 minutes and it felt like hours. But I'm going to apply for like a thousand jobs after the weekend a year without work is the most grueling thing to go through. If i had completed my school i would've gotten in which sucks even though i have my year 12 equivalent now.

Interviews aren't so terrible though i was glad to get to the interviewer believe it or not the psychologist was a real right freakout, they really try to loop you out he looked like such a typical scroungy, seedy little shrink guy.Literally gives me chills man, they just want to analyze you and see into your soul.

I thought you had conscription in Australia.

No they don't do conscription here i guess because people think it breaks there sense of freedom or maybe they don't care about it I for one would approve of it though. Its a very difficult process to get in they won't just throw anyone into the front lines in Australia, we have a very small army in comparison to most countries.
