Yeah. The island did explode, but the time between the fight encounter with Krauser and the explosion of the island had a pretty big gap. There was time for him to do something. Maybe a quick escape somehow.

He should've already been injured. He got beaten by ada & Leon. And to top that off, the island explodes :D

Good question. I'm thinking because he went power hungry and since the way his mindset and personality was, the plagas came out loking differently. Anther possible reason is because since he might have taken a different type of virus with a few different side affects.

i think his arm is due to remenants of the T virus which could of been injected into him after the crash he "suposedly" died in and he is working for wesker to reform Umbrella however ada thwarts his attempts to remove the irritence of Leon which gives him a reason to attempt to kill her

it's true that krauser worked for wesker. but i didn't think krauser inject him self with the T-virus (the same type that wesker use) because it will make him to become another superhuman beside wesker.
his arm got bigger because of the las plagas.. ada has said that in her reports.

i only said he inject himself with las plagas.

if you want to know what will happened if we combine t-virus and las plagas.... ask shinji mikami about it.. ;)
