Thank you, CAPCOM.:nom:
As for the subject of Chris' sexuality:
It really is up in the air for fans to believe what they want at the moment. The fact that Jill isn't even mentioned in RE6 sort of snuffs the whole concept of Jill and Chris being a couple for me (unless they decide to take their partnership/friendship further in future installments). I mean the guy went missing for a good few months before the main story of RE6 takes place. Not only was he missing but he was suffering from PTSD as well as amnesia- not a good combination! My point is that Jill wasn't there to retrieve him or even involved in his search (as far as we know)- if that were my man his ass would be dragged back to the states to get some medical treatment... and some TLC especially before running off on anymore missions.
If their relationship is anything more than just a close friendship then maybe they both agreed to keep things simple between each other until things calmed down. But they're not getting any younger and even then I just have my doubts because there really is no affection between the two characters. The closest moment they even had together was when Chris grabs for her gun (near her ass) at the end of
Revelations. But at the end of RE5, when they are all on the helicopter, neither one is even sitting next to the other after
everything.
I tend to think he is either straight or bisexual/bicurious.
I do view his relationship with Piers as simply a type of brotherly bond and mentorship however. Chris was even looking to pass on his position to Piers- how romantic.
Of course some of my views are bias because the only ship that is sailing in my harbor is the shipping of Wesker and Chris. Although this has more to do with my beliefs that Wesker has his own personal sexual interests and frustrations than Chris. But I do like to think that the two both had admirations as well as an attraction for one another more so before the mansion incident took place. We all know that Chris had trouble with authority in yet by the time he joined STARS he appeared to have respect for his former captain to the point where, after Wesker's betrayal, Chris' trust was damaged a bit.
Plus Wesker made it a point to save Chris in the beginning of RE (1996/remake) and also had a great opportunity to kill him off when he shot and killed Enrico. Annd if I'm not mistaken in
Resident Evil 1996 did it not sound like Wesker was trying to get Chris' approval? It was to the point where Chris says something like "I'll never work for Umbrella". lolz
Maybe I am reading into it too much but there is just so much stuff and it is completely entertaining. RE5 is definitely a gold mine with the dialogue between those two. But I could say that fans who believe Chris and Jill are together are also reading into things too much as well, seeing as nothing has been confirmed yet. I think the idea of a man and a woman being paired together is a little easier for some to digest vs a man and a man.
Edit for the 100th time
