You mean it's actually a theory, and wasn't implied in the game? How long have I been wrong... I thought he was supposed to be dead in the game.

Well, without factual proof, I can't accept an implication as anything more than coincidence and a very cool theory. I didn't get that impression when I first played it, but after reading I absolutely embraced the idea. Thing is, most people I've talked to about it didn't get that impression when they played FF8, nor did I. Anyway, I think it's a lot cooler not knowing if it was intentionally put in. Kind of like you aren't sure whether you're in on a secret or grasping at straws.

The theory does explain ideas I hadn't thought of, but yeah, completely thought Squally was dead.
