Somewhere in between the STAAARSS
I'm trying to make the two giants at chapter 4-2 behave, but they are quite unruly. This is my first play through.

When the battle commences I throw a Flash and then shoot the first giant with the Broken Butterfly until I can climb his back. I slash the plaga once or twice and then he gets up and throws me off! What's wrong with this boy? He's making a circus artist out of poor Leon.

I have 7 Flashies and about 60 Magnum rounds so I don't have to climb their back in order to kill them. I also know about the lava trap but that's too easy so I'm not using it.

I don't need help to kill them, but I need some advice about how to cut their plaga without beeing dragged into their circus number.

I didn't understand what you want help with. Are you cornered by them?
You can clim to the platform, wait for them to get close to it and then slide down the rope. That way, you'll get some distance. If you want to slow them down, just flash them.

The only thing that troubles me is why can't I cut the plaga? He grabs me and throws me down immediately. Of course I don't have to cut his plaga but it should be possible to cut it, right?

Which one are you talking about? The one that doesn't look like he came out of an S&M video is slower than the other one, I think he's the easier one for cutting the Plaga. I'm not positive though, it's been a while since I last played the game and I almost always use the lava pit.

To me they both seem a little S&M?
The first one that comes out throws me down very quickly, I'm not sure about the last one (he with a mask). I have not noticed a difference in how quick they are but I'll pay attention to that.
Perhaps this is why I sometimes can cut plaga, but did not notice which one of them I could cut.

Maybe you're not pressing the button fast enough, or you're ressing the wrong one. I don't think this has happened to me, maybe your controller/keyboard's buttons get stuck?? If it's possible, try another controller.

I know I'm pressing the right button, I would know if I pressed the wrong one (happens but not often).
I think I was thrown off with both the X and the square button so I don't think it's the button's fault.
I had never a problem with the giants in the village, my fingers is not slower now.

If La Femme is right about one of the giants being faster, it could perhaps explain this. But then it's strange no one of you have experienced this problem. Maybe the quicker one is always the one that you trap in the lava, thus you avoid battling him.

By the way, are parts of these giants armored? Last time I almost depleted all my ammo, it was like they never would go down. If parts of them are armored perhaps I had hit that part alot.

One of them is armored, so try aiming into an unprotected area of his body.
I fought them two days ago without using the lava pit and i never had that problem. I guess you'll have to kill them without the knife.
Make sure you don't press more than 1 button, even the analog sticks. Maybe it's your game's copy.

Aha, thanks for confirming it.

I'm crazy but not crazy enough to knife these! Are you? :o

I'm sure I only pressed one button.

It seems I get different results with the same giant. Sometimes he throws me off sometimes I can cut the parasite.

There could be a possibility that you're mashing the buttons before it even appears on screen. I did that and the same thing like yours usually happens. I eventually just had to use the lava pit, since it's really hard to finish that part with them cornering me sometimes, or two attacks pummeling down on me. =/

I suggest using the TMP when firing on the plaga. You'll probably need the magnum bullets for the other bosses, especially for "it" and the TMP works just as well when hitting the plaga.

If you 'play' this fight properly, I find that you really shouldn't have them both after you at the same time. One will always tend to hang back and let the other one try and squash you. I'm not saying that you don't have to be vigilent of the second Gigante- you always need to look out for a surprise attack. Having said that, I also find that as one Gigante nears death, the other one will start to become more active- almost as if it knows the other one is in trouble.

2-5 magnum rounds into the plaga will kill that un-armored gigante. you possibly will need a few more rounds pumped into the armored gigante.

Thank you all for your responses. :)

I don't press the button before I see the symbol on the screen.
I know the magnum rounds are valuable, but I have got 5 boxes of magnum rounds and I think I can use some here. When I have emptied the revolver I can go get a capacity upgrade and get bullets for free.

Only one giant attack me at a time (are they stupid?). I climb the ladder, glide down with the cable thing, shoot at one of them, then run in between their legs back to the ladder.
I have 7 Flash Grenades and I use most of them here.

I don't think the plaga is armored? It looks pretty naked.
Which one of them is armored? He with a masked mouth or he with the harness?

um... i forget. all i know is im almost certain the masked one is.

I think it's the 'trailing' one (i.e. the one who comes out of the door second and will hang back at first) that is armoured.

It's the one in the bondage gear, isn't it? I thought the other one was just wearing shorts. Anyway, my game guide says that the one wearing the shorts is the slower/weaker/dafter one... he's the one that usually falls in the lava trap. I thought only one of them have all the chains and cuffs and what not, it's been a while though so I can't really remember.

As LFF said, one of them has chains and and stuff (armored) and the other one is wearing a black tissue over his mouth.

Yeah, realised that what I said was actually wrong, it's actually the first one that comes out of the door that is armoured. The second one is just wearing shorts and is noticably slower than the other one. I just played one of my normal files before and the second one just stood there and did nothing while I unloaded the typewriter into the armoured one...he only became a bit more active when the first one was almost dead.
