Childhood Memories

One of my favourites was being up in Scotland one time with my mum, dad and brother, with our grandparents joining us later on.
I remember the house we stayed in- next to the main road which lead down to a stoney beach where you could get a good view of the dolphins there. It was a fairly large house, very comfortable. I remember we brought our first boxer up there with us and she absolutely loved it. The garden was large enough for her to go haring off, stop, turn around and look at us, sprint back at full speed and miss us by inches.
What I remember most vividly is being down on the beach one time, an RAF Tornado passed overhead (when I say overhead, it was ridiculously low). I loved watching planes and helicopters fly by when I was young and for me that was something special!

Oh ya - this I remember because my family always brings it up - when I was 5 or something like that I was sitting on my Aunt Marie's knee at a big family dinner and pointed to her lip and went 'Aunt Marie you have mustache. Only mans have mustache'.

She apparently has not had once since. :D

I used to think lesbians literally ate carpet for the longest time. One time I went up to my mother's lesbian friend who was staying at our place and went, "You won't eat all of our carpet tonight will you? :(" My parents were horrified and learned I had heard it from them talking about her before she came over and laughing about it. That'll teach them to talk about their friends behind their backs!

Now that I know the true meaning I feel so horrible and embarrassed I said that to her, but last time I heard she thought it was the funniest thing a kid has ever said to her.

Actually able to see my best friends
Play with them talk confort all that
But of course there's always a catch....
Typical...Well the memories of my friends despite being gone still live in my heart

I remember when I was 5 my family drove to florida in a car ride and it took 13 hours to get there

Then one time when I was 11 me and my dad were heading South Carolina to go to the uss. Yorktown and we were driving down when the water swept under the tires and we started doing 360's but luckily we werent hurt but I do remember no one stooping. To set if we were alright. Asswholes

thats cool, I just took a trip with my dad to Florida like 4 days ago. it took 13 hours as well. and Yorktown was soo sick. I felt like I was stepping on sacred ground

From about 4-5 I would always go up to what most of us called the tennis club. Alot of the time i would hang out with someone but i would especially see a guy called Steve who worked there. We would sit under a tree and he would just drink and puff away, he was a happy cool guy. I remember i would go up to the bar and try to always get myself a free Twix either alone or with a relative(i wish the small things like getting a Twix still felt that incredible today).

Everyone knew each other in some way or another. Bad thing is that there was a guy across from the club who had about 3 dogs. Near there was my grandparents house and I was always scared to cross as one of them attacked people alot. It was a crazy labrador, Sausage dog and something else. The labrador got put down eventually.

My FAVORITE thing to do during the summer was when the family packed up and drove down to Lake Cumberland. We rented a pontoon boat that had a slide. The best part was when I rode on this one round thing (forgot what it was called) while it was tied (with a long, tight rope) to a back of my uncle's boat. The boat went SO fast that whenever I hopped in the air, it felt like I was being dragged on concrete, but without the horrible bloody skid marks.
Then we got back and we kids either made smores or watched movies (I remember watching the Pokemon movie.)

We haven't been there in the past few years (the last time I went I didn't put on any sunblock. My back was bubbling and I was shedding dead skin for weeks...) but we're going this year!
And I'm totally putting on more sunscreen.

I used to think teachers lived inside the school.
Haha that's not as crazy as you might think. I'm from a small place that hardly can be called civilized, and up until around the 1950s a teacher used to live at his little school. Schools were very small and often had only one class and one single teacher. Almost every neighborhood had its own little school.

Rural people often don't take the law very seriously, people do many things that are forbidden as long it doesn't hurt anybody. We never made moonshine in my family but some of our neighbors often made it. Typical age for tasting alcohol the first time is around 12 I guess. Typical age for driving something (car, MC, truck, tractor, bulldozer, anything) for the first time is around 8 I guess. On public roads too. But we don't have more alcohol related problems and we have less accidents than urban areas where they actually obey the law.
I have many memories.

My childhood had revolved around a lot of video game rumors. Mainly Pokemon Crystal which I had played an unhealthy amount. I think I even tried some Fire Red/Ruby/Red myths in it, like unlocking Mew. But the one that kept me awake the most was by far Celebi in a copy of the game without the use of any events or trades. I had actually gotten it working, as well. However, there is no way any living being could possibly witness the look on my face when I realized I could never catch it without breaking down into tears. You could only catch it with a Master Ball (only get 1) or a GS Ball (event only). I was a few years late to the Pokemon Crystal party, so I couldn't attend any events. I had wasted my master ball. You're not even able to spawn it without a GS Ball, so I guess seeing it should be enough.

In CastleVania: Symphony of the Night, my big brother convinced me there were 3 castles in the game. There are only 2, however. Considering the max percentage of completion in this game is 211.18 or something, it didn't sound unlikely to me that it could go further. My brother had to help me get the 2 rings required to go to the second castle, and wouldn't help me with the ridiculous thing he said I had to do to go to the third. The memories are fuzzy, but I think I had to beat one of the hardest bosses in the game (Nephi-something) Using only the Alucart armor and my fists. The Alucart armor is close to the most useless armor in the game, and I think it's common sense that fists are the weakest weapon in the game. I had grinded for potions to make the fight a lot easier, and eventually I think I actually did manage to do it, after which my brother told me that he was lying. I cried at that as well.

Considering this is one of my earliest video game memories, the details on it are probably really far off from what really happened, but the general idea is the same. In Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, I convinced myself that you didn't need the rainbow bridge to cross over to Ganon's Castle. For these reasons, I absolutely avoided completing the Shadow and Spirt temple, as those are the last two temples no matter what. I went into them a lot for some of the items, mainly the hover boots from the spirit. I had tried really ridiculous things, like trying to plant bombs whilst floating with hoverboots to bounce off of them and reset the hover, landing directly in the middle of the lava pit using the exact same method, attempting to hookshot onto a stone wall for 2 hours believing that I was just doing it wrong. I also thought that if I somehow got to Ganon's Castle as a child, I would be able to float across.

One last one, this about Sonic Adventure. I was absolutely in love with both of the Sonic Adventure games forever. Shadow was my favorite character, and my brother told me that his friend unlocked Shadow in the original sonic adventure by completing every single Challenge A on every single level as every single character. This is near impossible, especially on some casino level, so naturally it took up my life for the next year. Or week, who knows. As far as I remember, I was never able to do this. I still can't even do it today, even when I try just for personal satisfaction.

If anyone wants more, I remember like 2 more. They're not as good but they're still about a really lonely 5 year old with too much free time.

I did that, it's fake, you can't unlock Shadow but you can unlock Metal Sonic xD

Well, that's the point. I was pretty annoying so my brother tried to occupy me, and I sometimes managed to occupy myself. And also, how do you do the casino levels? God, it just seems impossible to rush through them.

The trick to the Casio Level on Sonic Adventure is to go play pinball, but let your character drop down to the garbage dumps, and collect all the rings down there...

i remember when i was about 12 i was playing final fantasy 7 again and i decided to see how far i was willing to level up cloud and Barrett until i wanted to kill myself i remember i spent about 13 hours grinding only to get up to about level 25 which is really well considering ive beaten the game at on level 33 which was my lowest ever but i stopped playing the game as i got too bored from 13 hours wasted
