Britain's Got Talent...

Not sure if anyone outside of Britain has seen this, but you've probably seen Susan Boyle on youtube or something, just wondering if anyone in uk saw the final tonight, cos' omg! Diversity were amazing! But i voted for Stavros flatley!

I haven't seen the final yet, I'll probably have to watch it on YouTube because aparently it's not being broadcasted in North America. I know who won though, and I'm actually really surprised. But, they were awesome. I really liked Julian Smith as well- he's probably my favourite, he's so wonderful.

I feel really sorry for the way Susan Boyle is being treated by the media right now. It's depressing to see them put her on a pedestal just to tear her down. :( Best of luck to her though.

I wanted Stavros Flately to win also. They were amazing :D
Diversity were brilliant last night and thoroughly deserved to win.

As Piers said, it would have been rediculously funny to see Stavros Flatly perform at the Royal Variety, haha! They're awesome.

Yeah, I agree that Diversity definitely deserved to win. Admitedly, Julian was my favourite throughout the whole thing, but Diversity gave an insanely incredible final performance. I adored the part with the buzzers, that choreography was so clever.

Diversity an Flawless ftw in my opinion those two teams where the best haha!! an that MJ thing ages ago

Diversity's choreography was amazing, and they did something different every time. That young lad Aidan was excellent i the semi final, but it wasn't as good in the final. Still wish stavros flatley would have won, but diversity did deserve it.

Diversity and Flawless were both pretty equal as dancers, and they were both amazing. That said, Diversity had better and more creative ideas, which is probably what put them above Flawless.

What did you guys think of Hollie Steel? I loved her audition, and that was it. I mean, yes, she's amazing for ten, don't get me wrong, but at this point her singing just wasn't 'good enough' to win. I'm a huge Phantom of the Opera fan, and her version of 'Wishing you were Somehow here Again' kinda made me cringe. And then there was that breakdown in the semi-final... what did you guys think?

i don't like to see little children getting to far on programs like BGT, they mostly get where they are based on the "cute factor"

yeah, i dont like children on t.v show's like BGT and things like that also because of the cuteness factor

gets on my nerves, when they sing, and yes they may sound cute, but thats all they got, compared to the real talent on the show, theres no way they stand a chance, and they definitely should never win.

I agree with you entirely. In this particular case, while Hollie Steel is exceptionally talented for her age, those are the key words: for her age. By no stretch of imagination did she have the best act; she was definitely riding the ‘cute’ ticket, one way or another.

Sorry, if any of y’all are fans of hers. As I said, she’s incredibly good for her age, but I just think the bar had been set much higher this year and she wasn’t ready for it yet.

i didnt actually catch any of her auditions, but i can just imagine already. they should really think about maybe doing a kiddie version of that kind of show, because all these children enter, and if you notice every year nearly one child goes through to the semi's or final, and i think the judges just do that so there not looked at as being biased towards all the child acts, but to be fair they never really have a good chance of winning.

I did feel so sorry for her when she started crying because she is only 10, and it was quite gutsy to come out and do it again.
btw,I heard on the news this morning, Susan Boyle has been taken to a clinic in London, suffering from exhaustion...

Man big news updates have been flashing around here here i even watched 4:00 am american news for a few quick minutes and it was about susan having an emotional breakdown(yeah of course) and then the host said'yeah just remember to never judge a book by its cover'he just blatently said she lost because she was ugly after a 5 minute article on her.But there is one thing that grinds my teeth and the thats the fact whenever i've watched the final of these talent shows(aussie, american,UK)the last 2 is always a singer or dancer!

On australias last year it was a fast playing guitar player who won which you can find someone on the same skill easily in the world, and a kid who sung got in second.... man this isn't 'Idol' or 'So you think you dance' its a flippin talent show i saw someone swallow about 9 swords.

Now thats some crazy devil ****.

She got sent to a clinic, because she went from a nobody to a somebody, there's already 3 companies in American that want to sign her on for a contract that could earn her millions. Paul Potts wants to-do a single/album with her. Simon Cowell wants her too.

Now for her age, can you see where the stress comes from? She's not used to it all, I mean the only reason she got so many public views is the fact, when she walked on the stage personally I lol'd cause i thought she was gonna be bad.. She shocked us all, but after the audition it was just the same ol same ol.

I won, 235£ when diversity won so I'm all good (:

I agree with iHades and La Femme on kids getting 'cute points'. Not fair. We have our own version of this show, I have not seen the foreign versions. But today on the news there was said something about a woman in the Britain Got Talent. I didn't pay too much attention, but it was possibly the breakdown mentioned here.

I agree entirely. Before BGT, she was just another little old lady living with her cat Pebbles, who'd never been kissed or given the light of the day. And within a matter of hours she became a superstar whose new hair-do and eye-brow waxing made international headlines. She was not prepared at all for any of the publicity, and it just got worse as the show progressed. I felt so sorry for her when I read about that whole run in with the police and what-not, the media really seemed to just attack her and it came out of nowhere. There was such a massive weight on her shoulders- to perform better than her audition and I think all of that just took it's toll. She's going to have to come to terms with the fact that her life will never, ever be the same- and I'm not sure if she's strong enough to handle that.

Anyway, I wish her all the best on any account. I really hope she gets better soon.
