2013 in Gaming

There are a few games coming out this year that I really want:
  • Resident Evil Revelations
  • The Sims 3: University Life (Out in March)
  • The Sims 3: Island Paradise (out in June)
  • an untitled Sims 3 Costume stuff pack (out this fall)
  • an untitled Sims 3 Time Travel expansion pack. (out this fall)

MGS4 is just an interactive movie. The other games are slightly less of that, especially Peace Walker. IMO, MGS4 is one of the worst, not to say it was bad, just that it wasn't as good as, say, MGS3.

Yeah I saw MGS4 as mostly a fan service interactive movie, but I still liked it a lot, it's more of a nostalgia bomb for fans. I just finished MGS3 the other day, loved it. I played a bit of Peace Walker and I don't know why but I just don't like it, I wanted to like it, but I just don't. I guess it's something to do with some missing gameplay elements and the comic cutscenes, I hate comic/drawn cutscenes.
I'm looking forward to Rising a lot because it's basically everything DmC should have been.

Oh and Dead Space 3 is out here today, can't wait to have the crap scared out of my again lol.
 
I was going to ask about Dead Space 3. I usually buy everything with 'dead' in the title, but the first two Dead Space's just did not do it for me. I dont particulary like the enemies or the way the character moves. He feels clumpy and like he's an astronaut (yes i know hes in space but i find him very not agile). With the first two Dead Space's i never had the motivation to even finish them, i just found them so drawn out and boring. I dont know either, dont know what it is, maybe its just the lack of atmosphere, i know the sound effects are awesome but it must just be the environments, main character and enemies that i find ruin immersion for me personally with dead space. i'd like to hear peoples opinions who like it?

Im going to get the Aliens game instead.
I also find EA to be really annoying. Charging people real money for in-game weapons.

Today I just canceled my preorders for GTA5 and Tomb Raider. Nothing was wrong with GTA5, I've just lost interest in the franchise, hope everyone else enjoys it though.

The new Tomb Raider just flat out sucks in my opinion now, I was willing to give the game a chance until all these new announcements. The new Tomb Raider has to be the most dumbed down game of this entire generation(Yes even more than DmC).
Regen health, hand holding, skill system, QTEs, no swimming and quick travel.
Tomb Raider is not only the most dumbed down game I've ever seen, it's not even a Tomb Raider game.

I enjoyed the hell out of the first Dead Space, it was such a great modern horror game that proved horror games can still work. DS2 however I didn't really like at all, I finished it once and never touched it again, what I loved in the first game was basically gone.
I haven't touched Dead Space 3 and I never will, as soon as EA announced that it added co op and was going more action, I immediately knew it was just gonna be another screw up like RE5 and I don't want any part in it.
IMO the only good Dead Space is the first one, same goes for Mass Effect.
 
Yea they added human enemies as well as necromorphs in Dead Space 3 and they've added military weapons along with the tools like the plasma cutter. But what I love is that you can craft your own weapons. I made a line launcher with a force gun attachment and it kicks ass, just knock back a group of necros and shred their limbs off xD
 
I gave my xbox away so i can't really play anything but would like to have a turn of GTA V.
 
They just released a combo pack for Dragon Ball Z Budokai, and Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3, HD remakes for PS3. I'm so buying that in a few hours actually. As far as other games, screw it. I'm gonna get DmC, and that's about it. I'll stick with what I've been playing, Super Street Fighter IV, Sonic Generations, Spyro II, Jak and Daxter, and Sonic Adventure. I don't need terrible new games, when I have some classics and a FEW new good ones already. However, I'll be getting the WiiU as SOON as possible, and when I do, ZombieU will be on my list, as well Assassins Creed III, and once it comes out, the new Smash Bros.
