I think that everyone on here recommends Silent Hill. Also if you are into retro games like myself Alone in the Dark 3 is another one I personally recommend.. I have it for Dreamcast.

I definitely recommend Silent Hill. After Resident Evil, This is my second favorite series of games. PYRIAMD HEAD ROCKS!
Anyways the creators behind Silent Hill are known to research and study to the finest detail on different sounds that make cause fear, tension and anxiety in the brain. So when you play these games you will be scared, and its not just because what you see is freaky, but the sounds, the music was created to do so as well.

Most definitely. I quite like Silent Hill and find that in most cases it is scarier than Resident Evil. It has a similar alienated, grungy feel to it which I believe any general survival horror fan could easily fall in love with.
Side note: There were points during Silent Hill 2 that had me panicking lol. Kind of in the same way that being chased by a double chainsaw in RE4, but it happens a lot more often. :3

not sure if I should get SH1 or SHSM. I have beet SHSM and it was soooo good, and I'm a real big baby when I get scared...

I would say get the first one. From what I've read SHSM was...I guess you could say reboot since it has all the same characters from SH1 but not the same story. Also, if you do end up getting it, a warning that unless you know what your doing, you'll probably get a bad ending.

LOL ok then. Though apparently from something I read one of the good endings is canon, though it isn't known which one. Though the bad ending is messed up in my opinion.

The bad ending in SH4 just sucked.
honestly though ****tered Memories was my favorite.Simply because it had such a great replay value. But hey, with a computer watching your every move and your results being pschodic profile, with changes through the game depending on how you play it, and five different ending's how is that not replay value?

Silent hill is a great investment.
The sound of the radio gonig static was an absolute stroke on genius from the developers.
I'll never forget the time when i first picked up that rusty Iron Pipe and got to work on some demonic looking dogs.
With RE, you always get the feeling of having kicked a great deal of ass. Where as with SH, you always feel like you've survived by the skin on your ass.
