Who passed the camera?

At the end of the first RE movie, in the scene where alice woke up in that white room, she looked through a glass window into some kind of control room... and then suddenly, someone passed the camera from inside the control room.

Was this just a zombie or what?

Yes, apparently one found his way in there or he was on his way out.

I can kinda, just barely, remember that scene and I'm also pretty sure it was just a zombie. I don't imagine it was meant to be super-deep and will be come up again in a future Resident Evil movie. I wouldn't be surprised if that part was just added because it would be "cool", or something.
