You excited? Apathetic? Have the new televised debates made you more likely to vote?

NO BEING MEAN ON THIS THREAD, THOUGH. People have the right to vote for who they want! No racism/prejudice either.

I've watched the other day Gordon Brown who forgot to close his microphone after a conversation with a civilian(?)! Then he got into the car and called her a psycho! That was too embarrassing for him but you should know it from first hand.

he didnt call her a psycho.
he called her a bigot.
and theres no point in voting in this election, its going to end up with a hung parliament anyway, since its too close to call at the time being, and there all full of crap and not one will stick to the promises they have made.

Is it compulsory to vote in the UK?If you don't vote here you get a whopping awesome fine, its also a shame because you don't want to support any of them there all a bunch of idiots.

nah no fines or anything like that if you dont vote, if you don't vote then its no big deal, but after reviewing all the partys, i personally think it would be a waste of time to vote anyway

It's not so much differing the conservatives from Labour, is it. Labour has moved right and the conservatives (what's their name?) has moved left.
After all these years with Labour I think it's time with a change. No one should govern for too long.

What the hell? Is it true??
It's almost unbelievable. How can they know if you do not vote? You can put an empty envelope in the ballot box.

Many people may not want to vote because they know that they have no clue on politics. What if these folks vote for a crazy party since they must vote something.

I'm not sure how they find out they send your election crap through the mail so maybe they track it or something,I haven't voted before not 18 yet.

Can't you just spoil the ballot? Either mark it up, deface it, select no one or select everyone and it'll show that you're not happy with any of the parties?

I'm pretty sure you have to do a vote according to the ballots 'rules' so pretty much voting as the paper needs you too.Whether you like it or not you have to choose someone legitimately.A democracy is where the system is led by the peoples voice correct?Well thats not really the case as its stated.

Isn't the votes secret? In Scandinavia absolutely no one can know what a person is voting. No one can see what we put inside the envelope. I thought the principle of secret voting was common in all democracies.
If I spoil the vote, or simply put an empty envelope in the ballot box, the guards there will never know.

I think that there's a misunderstanding here. Votes are secret in all countries. When you vote here you have to show your identity card first. So, they know if you have voted but they don't know what you've voted. ;)

Yes that has to be it.

But the Aussie system is cool too. Instead of sitting home and give a damn, you go and spoil a vote by writing FU** OFF on it. That must feel good.
