When Barry finaly killed the zombie in the diningroom and Jill and Barry went out in to the main hall he tells Jill that they should split up but if anything happens they should meet up in the hall again BUT then Barry sais for him self "This time I'll be there" Now what did he mean with that? Did went on a date a long time ago and he didn't show up or what.

maybe it was aimed at the fact he let jill go into the kenneth hallway and get confronted by that first zombie...and because he wasn't there should could have died if she didn't run back to hall

He meant that he should have been there when Jill found the first zombie and dead Kenneth, because he felt he should have helped her.

Later, he WAS there for her in the Jill Sandwich scene.

And he was there to give you ammo, which is dangerous against living things. Thank god we don't need the weapon for the ammo then.
