The World Cup

One of my predictions, namely that Germany would make it into the final, has come true, but I was wrong about the Netherlands making it too. At first I wanted the Netherlands to come in third place at least, but now that their coach and Robben both said they don't give a sh!t about the third place if they can't be the world champion, perhaps they don't deserve it after all.

So who are you rooting for in these last two games? I still think the Netherlands are basically a stronger team than Brazil, especially without the captain and Neymar, but after what Robben said, maybe they won't be bothered to make a real effort anymore. As for the final, my vote goes to Germany, since they have several good players to rely on, whereas Argentina is basically just Messi + 10 tag-along escort boys.

By the way: HAPPY 23rd BIRTHDAY, JAMES! Would have been great to win the bronze medal as a birthday present, but it just wasn't meant to be... Maybe next time.

I hope Klose makes one or two goals only for record purposes, but I don't really care who wins. I like both teams. Germany will probably be the better team.

But didn't he already break a record? The commentator said he was already better than the old Ronaldo (not the Portuguese player) in some regard, though being a football noob, I didn't fully understand the context. He might as well break my James's record and become the leading goal scorer, but for the time being he's not even klose.

I think it's wrong saying that Argentina is Messi+10, they have some of the best players in the world, Aguero, Higuain, Di Maria, Mascherano, Lavezzi, Garay(He played for my club for 3 years, trust me he is one of the best cb in the world). What you can say is they don't work as a team, even though they have so many star players. Germany also has a lot of star players but they work as a team, and that's the big difference.

What the hell is wrong with the referee? Did he lose his eyeglasses or is he on dope? A yellow card to a Brazilian for diving, when the Brazilian should have been given a penalty. The Dutch player who tackled him was carried away on a stretcher! Isn't that proof for physical contact?!
I'm all for punishing diving, but it's too late to start now. And this was not diving at all.

Yes he broke the record, but why not improve the new record? ;)

Well then, I hope we'll also get to see some more of those other players tonight. Because whenever I watch Argentina play, the commentator is like "Messi here, Messi there, Messi everywhere", and the camera supports this.

What I don't understand is: How and when did that Dutch player get hurt at all? They showed that scene in slow motion at least three times, yet all I ever saw was Oscar falling while the Dutch guy walked away unharmed. Am I Blind or what? (Pun intended.)

By the way, did anyone see this?

I don't know if he was just tired or trying to make fun of the opposing team, but it seems like he became an internet meme before the game was even over.

Before anyone asks: No, none of these were made by me, I found this collage on the internet, but you may rest assured that I will soon create my own.

It sounds like a mess.

The Dutch player got his knee hurt because of the impact with the Brazilian player. I guess it was Blind and Oscar, but I'm not really sure who were involved.

That's because, as I said before, the football world is infested with people and commentators who have their heads shoved far up Messi's ass, and if by any chance Argentina wins today, they will probably start a new religion honoring Messi.

Congratulations Germany, congratulations Hel!
The final was even and exciting, any team would have deserved to win.

About the "Messi here, Messi there"... he was not mentioned for at least an half hour in the 2nd half, and I didn't see him either. He made his presence known early in the match though, in a positive way.

Edit:
The referee sucked in this match too. There's been way too many weird decisions in this world cup. They should have used Pierluigi Collina, but FIFA rules don't allow referees 45 or older. But they seemingly have no problem with referees with no eyes...

Thank you, Romero. Even though I'm not quite sure why you are congratulating me, it's not like I won anything, I simply made the right bet... But thanks anyway.

Fun fact: Among the German players who received the prize, there were at least two that I had never seen before. Makes me wonder: How does it feel to be crowned the world champion without ever having done anything for it? I'm working my ass off as an office employee in the human world of the living to earn a few thalers per hour, and those guys earn thousands for just sitting there and enjoying a good show. I want that too! So I'm becoming a football coach now.

Well, Germany wins, and it's good, they deserved final (winning 4-0 with Portugal or 7-1 with Brazil are really nice results), Argentina was there by mistake (poor games in group round, win match with only 1 more goals)... And, can someone explain me why Messi get prize for best footballer in this tournament?
