Silent Hill: ****tered Memories (re-imagining of the original PS1 game)

wolfgirl

Almost a Jibble Sammich
For Wii, PS2, PSP, released October 2009

According to producer Tomm Hulett, "It's not a remake or a port. That's an important distinction. It really feels like a new game."

It looks really different, and seems really different in terms of gameplay. For example, read this:

To add depth to the fear and tension aspects of playing the game, combat has been completely removed in favor of evading enemies. Monsters can cling to Harry to inflict damage, pursue him over fences and through rooms, drag him out of hiding spaces, and ultimately kill him. There are however a number of actions you can do in the world to evade monsters, such as jumping through windows, climbing fences and barging through doors while on the run. Harry can also knock down bookcases, briefly delaying his foes. Concealed areas such as wardrobes can be used for hiding places to try and avoid detection.

I OFFICIALLY WANT IT :D I have the original and I love it

The redesigns of the characters are interesting, but I'm not sure how the new no-combat gameplay will fare with players. I hope it's not a super-hyped disappointment like Sonic Unleashed *shudders*

PS: I like how you incorporated the medals into your sig! Looks great :D

i just quickly whipped them on, i didn't even make them blend lol.
oh well
im well glad this isnt coming to new gen, and its taking into consideration ps2 players.

Yeah when i first heard i was like hell yeah another good game for wii!But it started being an ultra gay and broke itself so yeah its just sitting in a cupboard.Instead of number 5 they should've just put this on the xbox, i haven't played 5 but apparently its just anus.

I liked the cellphone feature best, and the fact that its downright scarier than the rest of the games of the franchise(well, hopefully).

A new Silent Hill...
I know not much about Silent Hill and nothing about the story. If I want this new game, should I start with the old games first? Or maybe the story isn't that important.

If you want an interesting idea of the difference, play the original Silent Hill (PS1, came out in 1999).

This is the way that Silent Hill horror was always meant to be! (in my opinion anyway :P) God I can't wait for this now!
And my little PS2 can continue being put to good use :D.

I'll have to play the original again to feel the difference of the new one.

Don't know if I like the new Harry Mason as much - maybe it's just because I'm attached to the older character, lol
