Meh, I have never had much of a problem with either AI controlled partner.
Which makes sense, because I'm pretty sure the AI is the same for both of them, no matter how it may be perceived.
I play as Chris most of the time because I'm used to him and in the all the hours I've clocked in I think Sheva has maybe done two or three stupid things that were drastic to the continuation of the mission.
And I've clocked in about 50 hrs, incidentally.
In fact I have more of a complaint from Kirk, that moron. After the area was clear of those Majini near the docks, I walked outside and he fired at Chris! Augh! Yeah, well, needless to say, Mr. Redfield didn't even have time to utter a "Help me" . He just simply dropped and that was it. Missiles fired at you tend to have that effect.
I was rather mad.:verymad:
And as a Chris fan I feel I must respectfully disagree at those claims that Chris's AI is stupider than Sheva's. Their AI is the same! Getting mad because he's bigger than Sheva and thus takes up more screen room when he walks behind her is sort of silly. Of course he's going to take up more screen room. He's a big guy,and he's a lot taller than her. It would seem kind of stupid if he suddenly shrank to her size (or smaller, lol) when he becomes AI controlled, dontchya think?
Oddly enough, and despite what I said, I tend to find his AI BETTER than Sheva in most instances. I'm sure this is just me paying more attention to him than I pay to Sheva when I play (which is entirely possible, as I only play as Sheva to see more of Chris. BWA HA HA.) but still he seems more aggressive and accurate than she typically is.
I once watched him almost entirely clear out a section of baddies with a minimal amount of my help and no need for a first-aid spray or herb when he was finished.
It makes me think that AI and our view of it is directly related to our playing styles.
If we run around kind of reckless, I would imagine the AI has no choice but to follow suit.
Granted, I tend to be reckless, but I never forget my partner is with me and thus I never forget to make Chris be a bossy jerk who unloads ammo on everything so that Sheva hardly has to chamber a shot, ha ha.
This is probably wrong, as Sheva
should be able to handle herself, but I like shooting things, so it doesn't bother me.
