I've never had problems with the AI really, Sheva or Chris, I just give them ammo, and anything needed to kill the enemy.

there was the incident with the rocket launcher though...

Resident Evil 5 doesn't haft to be a horror game. Just be glad they didn't turn it into some Metal Gear war type game. But Capcom is doing it for a reason and there's nothing wrong with straying away. Just deal with it and play other horror games.

Well, what you're saying have something to do with the thread? Anyway. Everybody knows this isn't a horror game anymore, it's like a horror-action game.

I was all for Sheva at the beginning. She actually KILLED crazy villagers (not just injured so I could finish them off <_<) and felt comofortable not being totally alone.

But she does one thing that really, really, really bugs me. For example, I get attacked a bit too much and she needs to help, but when she does she shouts "YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL!" or something along those lines and I feel like screaming "I AM IN THIS SITUATION BECAUSE YOU WON'T HELP!"

Mini-rant over, I am, however, willing to overlook this as she comes in handy :)

Sheva AI > Chris AI

After I unlocked Sheva and unlocked her tribal outfit, I only use her now and I honestly find Chris to be stupid bad. Like someone before me stated, "Beefcake" Redfield is effing annoying blocking my view. Also, he does alot of dumb stuff as well, if not moreso than Sheva. And Professional is a no-no with him and Sheva AI but moreso Chris.

I think the producers want to gamers play online. That would explain why Chris' and Sheva's AI are so low.

Co-op was a major selling point that Capcom was pushing on us...and they succeeded

Nowadays people expect co-op to be in every effing game. I bet you that the even newest numbered FF game Square makes besides XII and that MMORPG one will have co-op. Jus kidding.

But co-op is fun on RE5 though, especially if you play the WHOLE entire game in one sitting with someone.

Yeah, it's true

But remember, to play the entire game with someone, you can't die. Otherwise they'll take you out of the session

There were a couple of things that annoyed me, but this wasn't really one of them. This was at Sheva's home. Her family and friends were directly affected by what happens. He level of involvment was spot on for me. It would have been more fitting if it was Chris and Jill Vs. Wesker again with Sheva coming in a chopper, but it was still good.

I still say Capcom should have had Chris play the martyr though. That truly would have been the aboslute best way to end this chapter.

Meh, I have never had much of a problem with either AI controlled partner.

Which makes sense, because I'm pretty sure the AI is the same for both of them, no matter how it may be perceived.

I play as Chris most of the time because I'm used to him and in the all the hours I've clocked in I think Sheva has maybe done two or three stupid things that were drastic to the continuation of the mission.

And I've clocked in about 50 hrs, incidentally.

In fact I have more of a complaint from Kirk, that moron. After the area was clear of those Majini near the docks, I walked outside and he fired at Chris! Augh! Yeah, well, needless to say, Mr. Redfield didn't even have time to utter a "Help me" . He just simply dropped and that was it. Missiles fired at you tend to have that effect.

I was rather mad.:verymad:

And as a Chris fan I feel I must respectfully disagree at those claims that Chris's AI is stupider than Sheva's. Their AI is the same! Getting mad because he's bigger than Sheva and thus takes up more screen room when he walks behind her is sort of silly. Of course he's going to take up more screen room. He's a big guy,and he's a lot taller than her. It would seem kind of stupid if he suddenly shrank to her size (or smaller, lol) when he becomes AI controlled, dontchya think?

Oddly enough, and despite what I said, I tend to find his AI BETTER than Sheva in most instances. I'm sure this is just me paying more attention to him than I pay to Sheva when I play (which is entirely possible, as I only play as Sheva to see more of Chris. BWA HA HA.) but still he seems more aggressive and accurate than she typically is.

I once watched him almost entirely clear out a section of baddies with a minimal amount of my help and no need for a first-aid spray or herb when he was finished.

It makes me think that AI and our view of it is directly related to our playing styles.

If we run around kind of reckless, I would imagine the AI has no choice but to follow suit.

Granted, I tend to be reckless, but I never forget my partner is with me and thus I never forget to make Chris be a bossy jerk who unloads ammo on everything so that Sheva hardly has to chamber a shot, ha ha.

This is probably wrong, as Sheva should be able to handle herself, but I like shooting things, so it doesn't bother me. ;)

Well what you said about Kirk, this is not the first occurence I can assure you !!

This has happend to me as well and its very anoyying lol but kinda funny at the same time.. because you cant blame anyone but yourself for standing in the wrong place lol but how can you blame yourself when youve been shot down by the AI team chopper!!!

funny story though lol

Lol, yes, I did laugh at first. But I had been working my way toward an "S" rank and that botched it. Boo! Do over!

I am now extremely careful around that trigger happy Kirk fellow; I have whoever I'm playing creep around like a coward even after I'm certain everyone is dead, lol.
