Robin Hood Personality Test

The last Robin Hood flick I saw was the one with Kevin Costner and the dreamboat that is young Christian Slater.

And thanks, I hope I kicked said exams in the jewels as well but I have this creeping feeling they kicked me in mine.
Well apparently, those who have been duped, the new one with R.Crowe is very slow, boring and over-hyped.Although i rarely trust what '' critics say ''

Even as a man, i can appreciate the dashing looks of the young christian slater, i can see the attraction.

I doubt you'll fail, however should you be at the end of a swift kick to the jewels, you have my utmost sympathy, again, as a man, i can appreciate it. But i feel you are doing yourself a injustice and that you've got it nailed, so best of luck. I think it's time i gave this moral questionaire thing a try

*cracks knuckles *

Ok a bit of a head scratcher this, but the one that i could find that ticked most my boxes in all honesty was,
ROBIN, LITTLE JOHN, MARION, SHERIFF
You are a moralist with conventional ideas, which some people would call old-fashioned.

(Men) You probably consider yourself a fair-minded man in a world which falls badly below your standards. Your inhibitions and sense of guilt are in the way of your happiness.

Very weird because my personal opinion of the story doesn't match up with my choice. how strange.

Well first off, the question is, '' in everyday standards '' i take this to mean, what i have personally experienced as the norm. NOT, what i deem acceptable behavior.

Tests such as these are devious but interesting none-the-less.

I find Robins reaction to be normal, ( even though it's unacceptable ) I could roll off a huge list of names who have called their former lovers such labels. This, is modern society for you, there is very little Chivlary in the world today, we've nothing but opinions and half backed philosophy. Robins reaction, is one that comes from confusion and hurt, there are a mixture of emotions taking place here.

He was under the impression he was part of a relationship, which usually means 50/50 all the way. Also, having just had his lady spend the night with a beast, he will be struggling to wrestle with this manhood. Things such as, '' i can't be a real man if my woman is having to sacrifice herself '' would be at the front of his mind,

Then in comes his good lady, cool as a cucumber, confesses her deeds with a strong headed certainty in her own actions as if it were blatantly obvious. Her coolness is what throws Robin, being the hapless romantic this doesn't compute.. but there in lies the slight of hand. This isn't about romantacism or morals.. this is about a man at war with his masculinity. ( which i have no time nor love for, masculinity/feminism same thing different appearane )

At first glance i considered John to be a snake, just sitting there not saying a word and when Robin blows his fuse he gets all hurt because his woman ( in his mind atleast ) has been insulted, but like the good gentleman he is, he defends her. Had the shoe been on the other foot, i believe john would have reacted just like robin(by todays standards ), as i believe them both to be chivalrous yet the problem they face is deeper than just being a nice guy.

Now, John won't have asked her to join him had he not previously been thinking about her in a seductive way. And Mary wouldn't have accepted had she not at some point thought about it. ( unless there is something between the two we don't know about )

However, if this is just a woman '' rebounding '' then this is also interesting.
It show a slight frailty in her nature or in how she views the world and indeed perhaps herself.

She didn't stop to think about what she had done, she didn't look at Robins reaction and atleast once think '' oh hang on maybe he's a point at being mad ''

The old phrase '' actions speak louder than words ''comes to mind. Never mind what he's said, look at his actions, he's boiling, he's furious! she never once thought of this. In the same way she stuck her head up her backside and went forward with the deed the night before, she accepts Johns advance and in the same speed as the night before, rides into the sunset.

The rebound is fascinating because as i've already said, it shows up a frailty in Mary, why seek the shelter of another after a split ? How can you act so head strong one minute, then flee under the arms of another so hastefully and not once, question your actions. Question why is there a need to seek another asoon as possible ? if her ideals are cast iron, she wouldn't need a crutch, which comes in the form of John.

If she were so correct in her actions she'd have been able to put Robin in his place or atleast understand him, ( because she'd have been expecting it had she profoundly thought about it. )

but in this article we are left with a '' you go girl, you show that mean macho-man that you don't need him blah blah '' When she blatantly does, as she hadn't have ran straight to john if this weren't true.

As for that lout the Sheriff, i'll say as little about him as possible, he's so obviously a Richard Dawkins fan.

Make no mistake about it, this test has nothing to do with right or wrong it's a good old fashioned maculinity vs feminism trick. It's as old as the dirt in the earth.

In re-cap, Robins biggest crime was calling his lady a nasty name.
John out of everybody, has the clean slate, even if he is deluded.
Mary is the one who did the deed.
and the sheriff is the little rat who started it and got what he wanted regaurdless to the cost of anyone else.

Very few people are honest, they like to think of themselves as good people, but this is flawed as humans by their very own nature are not nice. You do not get to the top of the food chain by waving placards at uni's and banging on about voting rights.

Very few people study themselves and their own behavior. When questioned ( like what this test has done ) they write it off as just a silly thing..but after a couple of steps the fear sets in because you instantly know you are chartering un-walked land. And this is what caused you to do that very human thing of self justification, and instantly start pointing the finger at others. ( the problem is inside, not out )

For the record. I do not accept robins out-burst, although i fully understand it... If anyone can understand Robins out burst, then you have done a damn site more than what Mary was ever prepared to do. Mary's Sacrifice is blatantly obvious, and to me, had my lady done that for me, i'd have been extreamely greatful, but i believe this is because i am not chained by the ideal of machoism. Although, make no mistake about it.....When everyone is safe, the first thing i do, is send the best arrow i have, straight into the heart of the Beast.

People like the sheriff do not understand that although it is true that any man, is able to Choose any women he likes, he is NOT, permitted to HAVE any women he chooses. a fine line that is seldom recognized unless you've a strong moral back-bone.

Robin thought it was an insult to him,
John thought it was his chance to grab a bride,
mary thought it was the answer to the problem(without even thinking about the consequences )
and the Sheriff obviously thinks he can do what he pleases.

Ideals are very nice and fluffy, but when you remove the moral back bone from an ideal you leave it in the hands of a human heart, and from there, blood-shed is a dead-certainty.
Fin.

ps, now i hope you all understand why i refrained from typing this earlier, as it was a little more than 4 paragraphs... to the untrained mind it's only a game, but it is infact a Labyrinth :)

peace people, hope you are all set to enjoy your weekend.

Hmm, at first I didn't see this.
Okay. That's normal I suppose - some people have issues with partners who have had sexual relationships with others. But, what if she didn't sleep with the Sheriff willingly - i.e she was raped? How does that kind of fit into this monogamous ideal? I'm not challenging you or anything, I'm just curious.
She wasn't raped in this story. If that was the case I would be equally bothered but all my hatred would be aimed at the Sherrif obviously.

I dunno, for me this was pretty realistic 'everyday' standards, at least for women. I've definitely had my fair share of rebounds... I think it's pretty normal to try to show the person who hurt you that you're happy without them. It's worked for me. *shrugs*
No! It doesn't work this way for me! Rebounds are my worst! I have an egoism you know! :p

Anyway, it's not like I call Robin or Marion ethical or unethical either. I understand that it is personal. It is just what I wouldn't like to see in my relatioship. Others wouldn't have a problem and vice versa.

However, I can't see Sherrif's case in a subjective way at all. He is supposed to do his job according to certain laws, not according to what each person gives him in return. That is clearly unethical to me and that's why I said he's by far the worst.
