Brittany Murphy died sometime this morning; cardiac arrest at only 32 years old. It seems like '09 has been the worst year for celebrity deaths. I loved her in Don't Say a Word, she was phenomenal.

RIP Brittany.

Yeah I heard this on msn news thing, RIP I only remember he in 8 Mile tbh... but all the same RIP.

Sorry to burst anyones bubble, but I have a VERY strong feeling it was cocaine that did her in. You don't just die of "natural causes" at 32. And her husband doesn't want an autopsy done? Hmm... me thinks it's because he knows why. It is sad, though. She was a good actress. Sin City, Don't Say A Word, and who can forget King of the Hill? R.I.P.

I do agree with you that this year was a terrible celebertiy death year.

There was Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, the one that you mention, and the one and only celebrity that we will all miss with his him shouting his name in every single commerical and his constant advertising of Oxy Clean, Billy Mays, god d***it, I knew him ever since I was child, DDDDDDDDDDDDDD********************IIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget about the great Patrick Swayze. LEGEND there. Was a sad year, indeed.

I still can't believe she dies. She was definitely one of my favorite actresses. I loved her in Riding in Cars with Boys and Girl Interrupted.

Very sad news. RIP.

I reckon the heart attack was drug related. Apparently she was on prescription stuff, but thats just a media cover for addicted to drugs.

I would hate to be part of the spread to a nasty rumor but there was something on the news that said her and her husband were doing cocaine before she had the heart attack- which would explain why he didn't want the autopsy done in the first place. I haven't heard much else on it though.

okay... who the hell is brittany murphy. not to mawk her on her death but i know patrick swayze (Ghost), Farrah Fawcet (charlies angels), BILLY MAYS HERE, and MJ but who is this woman

And I bet Michael Jackson was one of your favorite singers too lol

Nah. He was good though and had a few really great songs. But not one of my favorites, Smartass. ;)

Even though I wasn't a big fan of his, his death was still a shock and sad- like anyone's death.

I find it funny how all of his "fans" came out of the woodwork after the fact and all of the sudden he was the greatest African American who paved the ways for all the blacks and blah blah blah. Oops, I've said too much.

wtf greatest African American?, sorry I dont live in America so Ive never heard that term used to describe MJ, but this guy is not black hes white, hes a sellout and I couldnt care less if he's dead. Yes that will hurt a lot of people but you need to look past the fact that he made good music and could dace really well... he wasn't exactly the best of characters... IMO

Oh yeah there were black people saying crap like that all over TV. What's funny is he died his skin white!

Anyways that's your view on it. Others can have their own thoughts and feelings about it as well.

Anyways enough about Michael. There was enough talk about him before in other threads. This thread is dedicated towards Brittany Murphy.

Hold up. Usually, I'd just ignore this - especially considering that I made this thread about Brittany Murphy... but it somehow turned into a discussion and then to an attack on Michael Jackson which I will address. First of all, I do not consider myself as 'crawling out the woodwork'. Yes, I think it's stupid how people are making him out to be some kind of civil and political rights leader when he simply wasn't. That's why I thought Al Sharpton was so phony at the memorial. I even saw a discussion on another board where MJ fans were saying that Michael made a greater contribution to the world than Martin Luther King did and I blew up at them in King's favour. I definitely recognize that he wasn't the 'greatest African American' ever.

That said - before you talk **** about someone, know what you're talking about first. Michael Jackson was a black man. He had a skin condition called vitiligo that destroyed the pigmentation of his skin. There are hundreds of pictures of these spots on his body, all you have to do is look it up on google. He didn't 'dye' his skin. He may have looked white - but it was NOT his choice, and the fact that he had a disease that caused his skin to become white and blotchy did NOT mean he wasn't a black man.

This wasn't meant as an attack on you guys - but I was actually quite personally offended by these comments so I couldn't not respond to them. I just wish people would do their research prior to jumping to conclusions. It certainly seems out of the question for most.
