Teen Tyrant
The Master Debater
Still an interesting choice, during the times when Grace is expected to be unarmed, but less unusual.

I think it refers strictly to physical melee (so no punches or kicks).
It just means if Leon is playable it will be more like RE2R than RE4R
There's stuff we don't know about the enemies yet that they've been teasing like how they'll require a specific strategy or step in order to kill. Whatever that is, or whatever nature these enemies have, it probably just makes sense that meleeing isn't a wise choice.I find it incredibly unlikely that Leon’s playable without his signature kicks. It would be a huge backwards step, especially after playing him in 4, in that type of gameplay, it’s kinda what fans would expect from Leon if/when they see him.
RE2 remake is an exception, as it goes back to when he was just a rookie cop.
What's the source for this?New bit of info, at least to me, is that the game will not have melee attacks, comes from a Famitsu translated interview.

I've always hated the notion that these characters somehow don't work in horror games anymore just because they've existed in action games when there's clearly stuff they can do to level the playing field and if Leon is in the game, hopefully this is the route they're going with it. Leon, Chris, Jill, and so on don't have to equal action game.

Thanks. Here is the full post:It was actually our friend Dusk who put up some translations. But it wasn’t from an online article, it was a magazine.
Ok so now you think Leon is not going to be playable. I notice Dusk who posted this info hasn't backed down about Leon being playable. I think Leon will be and I'm glad that RE9 is more inspired by RE2R than RE4R.I find it incredibly unlikely that Leon’s playable without his signature kicks.
No, I’m referring to him having 4 and Village next to each other in the category of comparison, considering Village has backtracking to progress all over it, not a continuous momentum approach like 4, and only really has increased action at a few key points, most of which are mainly in the latter half of the game. While it does have more action than 7, since it deals with more than just a few family members and a few random monster sprinkled in, Village is still an entire order of magnitude lower on the action scale than 4-6 and both Revelations games, making it closer to 7 and the earlier era of the series than it is to 4. As such, that he’s including Village as a point of comparison alongside 4 in regards to where Requiem stands with regard to how linear it is and how much action is in it, his choice to include Village among those ranks is quite inaccurate, which makes me question whether this guy really knows Village in the first place, which makes me question much of what he says.He says it’s closer to 1 and 2 though? Not 4. However I would still say Village is more action oriented.
