Good points. I wouldn’t be upset at all if they went this route. It would make for interesting storytelling to have both Weskers alive for the next installments and it really isn’t a bad idea like going with “hey RE5’s Wesker was just a clone” or going with some other new mad scientist villain for the next game. It’s actully the perfect setup and would make the seemingly complete change in direction of RE7 forgivable if they actually go this route with the story- or at least bring Ada into the next game so we can start piecing the events of RE7 all together with the rest of the series.

I haven’t played through Umbrella Corps. yet but doesn’t that game take place during different timeframes? Like during RE4 and even Code Veronica? So to say that he is alive because of that game doesn’t make sense to me because Wesker was involved in those games to some capacity.

It's set in 2012/2013, around the same time as RE6/Rev2. It features quarantined locations from past games, including a reconstructed Raccoon City, oddly enough. The village from RE4 is also featured, which has "implications" in and of itself. You basically collect journal entries from an anonymous "commander" as you progress through each stage, collecting samples and destroying B.O.W.s and the like. As this Rely On Horror article points out, the in-game anecdotes clearly point to Wesker. The only other logical "culprit" would be a whole new mad scientist/researcher character who was secretly there during RE4.

Plus, like I said time and time again, Jill's still suffering from PTSD, so that would make her the perfect test subject for whatever fear-based virus Natalex is cooking up next, just sayin'. Throw in the whole Umbrella Corps storyline ('Blue' Umbrella that Chris is working with is on the side of good while 'Red' Umbrella/Umbrella Co. is still evil apparently), Raymond/Jessica cliffhanger from Rev1, another Wesker on the loose, Jill's e-mail to Barry and her RE5 backstory (which, by itself, would allow fans to see Wesker again even in a non-physical form/flashbacks) and you have all the ingredients for Jill's next big adventure. You could even get creative and have Jill/Claire deal with Natalex while Ada goes to collect leads on THE Wesker possibly being alive and even Umbrella Co. themselves as part of her secret mission at the end of RE6 all in the same game (and who better for that than Capcom's Resident spy, no pun intended?).

Of course, the narrative would be just too perfect for the next installment, spin-off or otherwise, so of course Capcom probably won't run with it.

Ughhh the stage is set perfectly- they better make this a thing and not just wishful thinking from the fans.

I need a heavy dose of new innuendos for WeskerField!

GAMER MERIT
Ok its hard for me to imagine what RE8 would be but if i am forced now here is a few things i hope they do in RE8...

1.location:as far i am concern about more then story i started with location becuse RE will not end at RE8 since they announced at the same year RE7 being released so location.. If they do it in middle of isolated island or huge ship or mixed up locations would be great...

2:story.RE8 should be about leon meets with characters he met or didnt met like shiva..here is a few characters i would love to see them on RE8/_(SHIVA/REBECCA/ASHLY GRAHM/BRUCE MC GIVERMD/STEVE BURNSIDE) any of those should spice up RE8...STORY yeah leon receive a unknown e-mail with cordinates or phone call asking help...and the otherz get the same but in a different ways and situations...(ask me for details of the story if you want)

3:GAMEPLAY/ITEM MANAGMENT... To the gameplay and item mangaments, since we horror survival gamers and franchies loverz we saw RE franchies gived us over the years so many different gameplay and item managment etc... But if i had to fantasies what kind of gamepaly/item managment would look like i had say swaping weapons and using items without pusing the game...and make it real not having a shotgun and it does not appear at your back when u do pick it it appears out of the sudden! Also mixing up treasuers and customize weapons with each other like dead space but dont carry it too far capcom! Plus herps and life indicator should be like heart beat sensor and not only that infecations indicator too! So being hurt is last of your worrys!!!! Also doing action moves with each with there own abilitys and putting a survival passive skills that only can be leveled duaring story...custome clothes! Idk not worry about that...hmmm what else i didnt rant about? Kill half of the main characters please and make the girls take the show but please dont make jill take it!!! I like her but other girls are much younger and better...

I know I'm a little late to the party on this, but you seem to fetishize these two being together. You're into Yaoi/gay porn, aren't you?

Only if it involves those two! It just adds an interesting layer of depth... and amuses me.

One thing I like about games like The Evil Within 2 is how you can utilize the environment. That's something that adds realism. In most games, you see stuff laying around in rooms that looks useful, but you cannot interact with it at all. The same goes for other inanimate objects such as fire hydrants or levers.

In Silent Hill: Origins, Travis had access to heavy looking television sets and other random objects. In other games, you could only use a knife, or a plank of wood. That you can only carry a certain amount of items at once also makes things seem proper.

However, only ammo for the shotgun, assault rifle and a pistol ought to be commonly found. Rarer weapons should be earned or stored away for later usage. That way, we don't have another Resident Evil 4 type game on our hands, as that's what arguably ruined the survival horror genre.

I have an itch, in the next game Capcom will use RE7 as a template and it will feature another fish out of water character finding him/herself in a strange new enviroment to them and any mainstay character will get a dlc expansion. But it will be probably played in third person perspective.
