Despite the less than favourable reviews by some gaming critics, and a deep loathing being built amongst some vocal fans, Resident Evil 6 has already sold 4.5 million copies within just 5 days of being released.

Very happy about that as i feel this is the best Resident Evil game to date and my favourite. Seems the nay-sayers are a minority in this case.

You are aware that the 4.5 million is only the amount of copies that Capcom has sent to the retail stores right? The 4.5 million does not represent the sales figures, so no RE6 has not sold that much, Capcom has yet to announce how much the game has sold.

even if the 4.5 million amount sent to retails, but that doesn't mean it won't sell. they wouldn't sent 4.5 million copies if buyers don't demand it no? one thing for sure, 4.5 millions in 2 days, it's something that a horrible game (according to Gamespot) wouldn't achieve.
as a comparison, RE5 managed to ship 4 million units at launch and that game ultimately managed to sell 5.8 million copies. so i'm pretty sure RE6 will get a lot of sales.

It sounds like there's some slight bias in your post, just because a few reviewers gave it a low score doesn't mean it isn't well recieved, it's still shipped more copys than any other Capcom game in history, and has more good reviews than those few bad ones. Same way i feel! £39.99 here in the UK, so that's yeah $63. Easily the best game i've bought/played this year.

I've given this game chance after chance but it continues to disappoint me.

I played the Dragons Dogma RE6 demo, it sucked = Strike 1
I played the public demo, it sucked = Strike 2
I played half the main game, it sucks so far = Strike 3

Hell I hated RE5, but I still enjoyed it more than this.

Whether this game sells good or not I don't care, what I'm happy about is that even if there is more positive reviews, the fact remains that RE6 is the lowest rated game in the main series and has a massive mixed reception among critics, gamers and fans alike so that proves that we will not see another piece of garbage like RE6 again in the franchise, RE7 will have to be something different and the massive action part of the series will be removed due to the Micheal Bay action being one of the most hatred things about it. I see the only options being: taking Resident Evil back to what it's supposed to be or end it entirely, because another sequel with more action than RE6 will just be hated twice as much.

Even though there are some camera issues and the texture is not as good as RE5, it's still pretty cool. The gameplay is awesome. I can't wait until they come out with some cool addon levels or something like they had in RE5.

Believe me I definitely don't suck at this game, I got through Leon's campaign piece of cake on my own, I actually kinda liked Leon's campaign, but when I got to Chris's I was just bored and couldn't find the confidence to continue anymore, his campaign sucks. I'm gonna finish the game soon but I first have to tolerate Chris's awful, boring campaign.
I want to try out Ada's campaign because that's the only one that interests me.

There are s**t loads of franchises out there that have stuck to their roots and everyone is happy with what they have. Resident Evil didn't change because it had to, it changed because Capcom wanted it to.

It's as bad as the movies and as someone said above me, they might as well add Alice as she's trying to get herself in the games anyway. You bitch that people complain it's not scary, yeah, it's not and it should be because that's what they're claiming it is and was the initial genre type. When I was little playing RE 1-3 was scary as hell to me and in my opinion, were the best. RE4 was fun and refreshing but it just went downhill for me after that. Perhaps I'm too old? Or perhaps some of you just don't fully appreciate what true horror was when it was first introduced into the gaming community. "Survival horror" should no longer be a label for Resident Evil in my opinion.

I'm not saying they should just kill off the series but I'm fully done with Resident Evil (I REALLY hope that RE2 remake comes true). So if you wanna reply insulting me and my opinions go right ahead. I'm not interested in arguing with butthurt fans and I'm entitled to every word I have written.

A few things man:

Maybe the original games were scary for you for the same they were me: We were young and they were new. I also found RE4 incredibly fun, i even enjoyed 5 on a gameplay basis, but i LOVE 6. I don't see where all this hate comes from.

The only people who are claiming this is survival horror anymore are people complaining it shouldn't be called that, as far as i'm concerned it's moved into a Horror Shooter, which i'm fine with.

It's nothing like the movies at all: These guys have been surviving these disasters and fighting these enemies for specialised agencies, and are fighting a war that's been taken world-wide, not just the small-time operations they started with in the confines of a mansion, police station or part of a small city. This is entire countries, and they're veterans at handling it.

I LOVE Mercs, but i wanted to get all the stages unlocked, so i can get all the characters and set some serious time into it. It would help if i could find a solid partner to talk to and build tactics with. But i'm stuck to searching online for people, and honestly, people SUCK on Mercs whenever i find a partner.
