Resident Evil 6 People actually buy this crap?

RE6 is great. It didn't fail as an RE game ANY more than REmake did. If you guys are so stuck in your ways that you can't appreciate RE6 just because it's different than the other games, then why is it even worth your time to post about how much you didn't like it? It's not going to change the game any. Of course this isn't going out to everyone. But come on, it wasn't a bad game at ALL. Who am I kidding? I'm preaching to a bunch of people who think the movies suck too, which they SO don't. ALICE sucks, but hey, nothing is perfect. Even the original games have faults, despite how much we all love them.

Thank You for that.

yeah well its a forum site and most people live in a country where there is freedom of speech
i think for a resident evil fan like me, who have over 40 copies of resident evil games and has played them since over 13 years
i think i have the right to speak my opinions, i dont bash resident evil 6 at all, im just saying what i liked about the game
and what i dont really liked about it, same goes for revelations and pretty much all the others
thats what the forum is for, we are fans, we are not a religious cult who whorship the games no matter what
not all resident evil games are perfect to all of us, infact some of them can be quite repulsive to some of us
people have to learn to be more like me and respect eachothers opinions,
i would never bash people just cause their favorite resident evil games are gaiden and opperation racoon city
infact i would love to hear what in the world could possibly make them like those games,
different opinions is a gift, thats what makes it interesting, if you all had my opinions then i wouldnt even hang out here
it would be boring as hell then

ps, i also should mention that this is still one of the most respectfull forums i have ever been members off

While I initially refused to respond to a topic called "People actually buy this crap?" with the very first sentence being an outright offence to everyone who enjoys RE6, I'm glad to see that other users have managed to bring a civil tone into this discussion.

Personally, I think RE6, while not perfect, is a great game and a great RE. Even five months after its PC release, I still have a lot of fun with it, unlike Revelations, which is also nice, but failed to keep me interested for more than a few weeks even though it was praised for being so much more "Resident Evil" than anything else that came out since 4. But what does being a decent RE game mean anyway? Some say it's about zombies, but then every game that has zombies would be RE. Some say it's about being scary, but then Silent Hill would be a better RE than RE itself. For me it's about the story and the characters. We have Chris, Claire, Umbrella, mad scientists, virus outbreaks... as long as it has those things, and the game is not about football or kart racing all of a sudden, I call it RE. And 6 definitely has them.

Exactly. RE has ALWAYS Brought us an invigorating story, with characters, though somewhat larger than life, somehow easy to relate to as well. RE's GAMEPLAY may have changed over the years, but the tone and feel of the game itself where it REALLY matters has been a perfect constant since 96...

And Re6 story tied in very nicely in my opinion except Leon's his was more horror but frankly didn't make sense
Was it Revenge? or Avenge? eh.

Chris was it's BSAA's Job
Jake's well a Hired Merc so it's self explanatory
Ada's she IS a spy so it's fitting for her story

i like the stories in some new games
but im more of a gameplay junkie
for instance re6 has great story but not so great gameplay
and resident evil zero has great gameplay but boring story, i still prefer it for the gameplay
also i think the resident evil games with the best stories seems to mostly end up cancelled

speaking of story, did anybody check out the old trailer for revelations where chris and jill where enemies?
now that would have made one heck of a story, also the beta of resident evil 4 where leon goes insane and hallucinates
man i thought revelations would have like a very groundbreaking storyline after seing the trailer
turns out it doesnt have much of a story at all

Isn't that always the case? The RE6 trailers made the story look much better than it eventually turned out, and it's the same with Revelations.
But I'm a gameplay junkie too. Even a great story can't save a game that is just not fun to play, and for this reason I dislike Code Veronica even though it has the best story of all RE games in my opinion. In RE6 it's the other way around, I think the story is lacking in too many places to list, but I like the gameplay a lot.

I'd say Leon's story is more about duty to his country, and more importantly putting his past to rest.

I considered that but if you think about Helena FORCED him on it kinda
Chapter 1-3 then it was a 75% Helena and 25% Leon after that

Or until Ada gets old and is no longer eye candy...

As if that was ever going to happen. :D Apparently the developers have no issues with letting the male characters visibly age in the course of time (as seen with Chris and Leon), but Jill's face in RE5 still looks exactly the same as in the Remake (which is set eleven years earlier), Ada looks a little different in 6, but not necessarily older, and Sherry is only an exception because she was a child in 2 and had to get older or it would have been ridiculous. No no, if anything, one of them has to die. Otherwise I can imagine Leon wielding dual walking sticks in RE15 while Ada still looks like Chinatown's Next Top Model.

As I said before in some other thread, this IS a pretty good game, I've had lots of fun playing it, but like I also said, doesn't feel like a Resident Evil to me(except for the characters being there). I've played the Revelations demo, and I can say I did like it and it felt scary to me, but I'm low on cash so I'm not gonna buy it anytime soon.

Btw, REmake is a work of art, please don't compare RE6 to it xD

If one of 'em HAS to die, I vote Ada!
